I can not upgrade to 2.3.6 Retail - Milestone 2 General

I downloaded the sbf Brazil Retail 2.3.6: "4.5.2A-51_OLL-48_SIGNED_STABLE45LAOLYMPGBRETBR_P008_A022_M002_HWpd_Service1FF.sbf"
And when I upgrade in RSDLite says: "Failed flashing process. Failed flashing process.Phone[0000]: Phone is not compatible with multi-interface super-file. (0x703B); phone conected".
My phone is milestone 2 A953
Android Version: 2.3.4
System version: 64.1.22.A953.Retail.en.GB
Kernel version: [email protected] #1
I tried to downgrade using "downgrade_for_bl=3.sbf"
but without success
how do I upgrade to version 2.3.6 together?

You can try to flash this 2.3.6 BR Retail SBF:

After flash, do a full wipe in stock recovery.

Help!
I installed the 2.3.6 ROM's from VIVO, and can not seem to do neither root nor downgrade, and now, what should I do?

There's no way to root or downgrade for VIVO's rom, you just have to wait until there's a solution

MaX,i may be wrong but in the "And developers milestone 2 sbf" it says that this rom is rootable by Superoneclick.
Have you tried that?

No, the rom from Vivo (and from Personal Argentinian operator) can't be rooted yet. There's some discussion here:

Thanks MaxK47, it was very enlightening, i didn't know about the revisions in those sbf's.

[Q] Difference between "Baseband Version" and "Build Number"

I have Froyo (motafoca's custom rom) installed on Galaxy 3 (I5801).
In Settings > About Phone following information is shown:
Baseband version: I5800xxJP4
Build Noumber: FROYO.XXJPF
What is the difference between both of these things?
Can Baseband Version be upgraded?
Baseband version means Radio version in the phone

So is it possible to update it?
When we update the ROM, or when we install a custom ROM, does this baseband version get updated?
baseband should updated if you will flash image in PHONE part in odin. if you are flashing custom rom then you do not flash this part. you flash PDA only. so radio and bootloader you usually dont flash.
flashing radio is allegedly only thing that can brick your phone.
in our galaxy 3 jpf rom we have baseband version I5800XXJP4. i think this is newest version. if not, somebody can correct me.

Its the bootloader that can brick your phone. Not the radio.
Sent from my Lestatious v1.2 Galaxy 3 FROYO

But the changes in baseband version would improve/decrease radio preformance? what will happen if you replace new baseband version with an old one?

[Help] Need and I9020A GRJ22 fully stock Nandroid

I'm trying to update my phone from 2.3.4 --> 2.3.6 but I have modified my kernel so I get "status 7" when updating in CWM. I don't have a nandroid from before I changed the kernel in my phone so I was wondering if anyone had one.
I have a telus Nexus S so it's an I9020A so I believe that I need GRJ22.
Or is there any other method I can use?
edit: thanks it works.
trying to delete my post but i cant?
flash the zip from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033269
update to 2.3.4 and then to 2.3.6. you might have to do manual updates

[Q] Motorola Defy plus (+) Many questions.

I noticed that the focus here is more on the Motorola Defy than Defy Plus (+). I need some help with a defy + that was purchased for my mother.
It is currently running on Stock 2.3.4 (build: 4.5.1-134_DFP-891 , Ver: 45.0.891.MB526.Asiaretail.en.03) Rooted.
However, they prompted me to update my firmware to Ver: 45.0.1321.en.03 recently.
Wondering if i were to update, will i lose root?
I rooted Defy+ with superoneclick 2.3.3.
Also, any good Custom roms to recommend for Defy +?
Will the procedures be the same as Flashing a Custom rom on HTC Sensation?
Where CWM or 4ext can be flashed to boot into as recovery and flashing firmware?
Thanks a million in advance for the help..
first of all, read this.
If you upgrade, you will lose your root, but as far as i know, the 2.3.6 can be rooted too with the latest superoneclick.
the best custom rom is definitely cyanogenmod (cm7), which can be used with 2.3.6, just install 2ndinit for defy, and there you go!
im not familiar with the flashing process of htc sensation, so i cant help you with that. flashing a full stock rom can be done with motos program rsd lite, while flashing a custom rom is done via cwm.

[Q] GB 602 baseband change

Hi,
I recently flashed my Droid X to GB 602 and then installed Liberty Rom. The problem is that the sbf'ing changed the baseband. I live in Mexico City and my phone is on Iusacell's network, I have the baseband .zip file but I can't get it to install with GB (no problem with FroYo using Bootstrap recovery). So, can anyone tell me how to install iusacell baseband on GB 602? Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

You most likey used rsdlite to sbf unfortunatly it does change your baseband or radio version during the process but you can locate the sbf file of where you were before the sbf and once again use rsdlite to revert back to your previous baseband next time use the linux method to sbf it will not change your baseband version

Confusion with rooting/unlocking various firmware versions with Stock

Next week I am going to be receiving an Atrix 4G (ATT) running the stock (Froyo) to replace my broken Inspire 4G. Anyway, I plan on upgrading to CM9 immediately as soon as I receive the phone. After reading through tons of tutorials on XDA, rootzwiki, etc., I realized that most of the roms depend on certain firmware versions mainly the Gingerbread build to build from. I am familiar with adb and other android functions but I am mainly curious as to what the exact method would be from original stock? Do I need to upgrade the official firmwares in steps and then root, unlock bootloader, install clockworkmod, install rom, etc. or can I just go from Froyo to CM9 with the usual methods?
I have rooted and installed many custom roms but motorola has a few extras enabled like a locked bootloader. I am just curious as the correct starting point as I have seen many different methods for this device. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
I think you should upgrade to the latest firmware 4.5.141 then use the 2.3.4 method to unlock the boot loader. Heres a thread with someone who unlocked their phone on 2.3.6 and installed the cm9:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515954
I think the method you mentioned above should be fine….'upgrade the official firmwares in steps and then root, unlock bootloader, install clockworkmod, install rom'
