I had the same thing a while back, but the solution was very simple: Wildfire has so low resolution screen, that you couldnt see the line over text (striketrough or whatever), just look very closely or clean your screen. It may not also really work like you suspect, but this is what happened to me. You can test it easily, e.g. block internet permissions for web browser etc.
wow thanks you very much, was just that, seems was working since i started taping, i was expecting a change like the green mark at left changed to red, greyed out or something like that
This its my first rooted device and first custom rom, and trying to fix that i allready upgraded to a nightly cyanogen 7, having some fun on the phone thanks to the nice guides on this site
thank you again i need new glasses and prolly a new phone too

I just got my Evo on Saturday and have experienced a problem that I cant seem to fix.
Basically what happens is my home button stops functioning. Instead of taking me back to my default screen, the screen will just flash. So I have to use the back arrow now.
I have launcherpro and beautiful widgets installed, but I dont know if either of these would cause the issue.
Ive had to reboot my phone several times before its fixed, then it will randomly happen again.
Has anyone experienced this? Please help. This is so frustrating and annoying.
Thank you,
Whiteice
EDIT So I unstalled launcher pro plus and beautiful widgets and rebooted and its still happening. Im trying to find out if this is an issue others have experienced or if I have a defective unit that I need to return?
try clearing sense default, settings, applications, manage applications, touch ALL at top, scroll down to HTC Sense, touch it then scroll down to clear default

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately the option to clear default is grayed out.
Try getting default home from the market, it lets u clear it
Swyped from my fresh evo
Dude the same thing was happening to me. When u try to press the home button it would jus flicker back and forth between screens or something like that. And the only way I got rid of it buddy was rooting and flashing a new Rom, because the sense Rom has sum sort of bug in it. That's a guaranteed fix.
r0cky.Da.3v0.SU.
Are you talking about cleardefaulthome that your talking about?
And as far as rooting, Im a noob at it and not sure how to do it. Is their a one click method by chance?
Thank you,
Whiteice
No, I don't mean clear defaults. I mean flashing to a custom built Rom. That's the only way that problem will stop. I only know this because when I first got my Evo I had the same problem. I thought it was something I was going to have to deal with but I noticed the problem was gone sum time after me rooting my phone. This was not planned, it was just knowledge from experience. Yes there is a one click method for your phone called unrevoked3. You will jus need a few things. To install on ur computer. Check out this link and follow the instructions very carefully. http://www.jonamerica.com/technology/howto-root-the-htc-droid-incredible/ if u seem to get stuck which u probably will, jus let me know and I can TRY to help. It shouldn't be a hard or long process but if u don't have any experience then it might take a little while. And by the way, follow these instructions at ur own will, because I am not responsible for what happens to your phone. If u find something that u don't completely understand, just do what I do, Google It! GOOD LUCK

And by the way, you'll love your phone ten times more once u root. Speed and full customization can't get any better.http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l596/r0ckyda5st4rg3neral/snap20101121_100650.png

So I just updated my phone to G935tuvu4apia_tmb using the guide in the Tmobile Galaxy S7 Edge Development forum, and then I proceeded to Uninstall a bunch of bloatware and system apps (because package disabler pro doesn't work on G935tuvu4apia_tmb for me for some reason). I had accidentally deleted something called "Universal Switch", then, stupidly.. I had already deleted all of the backups for the things I had uninstalled before I had run through my phone making sure I didn't Uninstall anything important by accident. Lo and behold, it turns out that I need Universal Switch. Does anybody have a way that I can download and reinstall that on my phone? I would really rather prefer not to have to go back and refresh everything using Odin, as I literally just finished restoring, logging in, personalizing, and setting everything else up on my phone, and that took me a day and a half. So if anyone has a way for me to reinstall that on my phone I would greatly appreciate it, and I have definitely learned my lesson through this whole experience. I posted a picture of why I think I need Universal Switch, if I'm just crazy, and misunderstanding the issue I'm having then I'd appreciate someone informing me and educating me on the matter. Thanks again.
So I couldn't figure out how to attach a picture to this post, so here is a link to the screenshot of the issue I'm having.
I can't post outside links yet, so put a "Dropbox" and a ".com" in front of the text below to complete the link.

I think that is just the text to speech......
Universal switch is for smart switch I think. Not sure

Solution?
Well if it's just tts, do you know of any solution for getting passed this thing on my phone? If you check out the screenshot I linked, the issue is, whenever I go to settings, accessibility, scroll all the way down to services, then try to turn anything in services on, I get that pop up, then I click turn on on that pop up, and then it says "unfortunately settings has stopped". I am unable to turn anything on under services in the accessibility settings. There, that is a vast improvement from my original post of the description of the issue I am having. If I click on settings on the pop up, it goes to the tts settings page and just sits there loading forever.
Package Disabler Pro and disable it... Turn it off under Inputs....
As for the services issue... maybe reflash only the AP of the rom, which I believe keeps all apps and internal storage... That should fix that issue... You will have to reconfig your ish, but that should fix and farks....
It honestly sounds like you have a corrupt install to begin with because you CAN'T use Package Disabler.. Did you try the different ones?? I know one did NOT work for me as well... then one did...
Normally I'd have this issue fixed per the typical ways to fix but as of yesterday I cannot change any permissions nor can I access my camera or video files. Before you go into the rant of going into settings and disabling any apps that use screen overlay I have done that to every single app and system app as well as disabled the accessibility options....I still get the message. Any clues that might be helpful? I have Build MRA58k version BLU_R0011UU_v21_GENERIC 05-05-2017 short of doing a twerp recovery to an old image I don't know what to do.

I am trying to change my permissions so that I can use my phone for recording videos but it refuses to let me view any of my files in my gallery. It doesn't matter if I go through the app or if try to view it through a file viewer such as file manager, nothing will let me access them. In fact I can not change permissions for any app, can't change what can and cannot access my storage, can not change what accesses my phone, nothing can be changed. It's not just those apps, every app I try to change permissions for has the same message. As I stated before I have disabled ALL draw over other apps, System as well as normal but the message still pops up even after a reboot........It all started 3 days ago, I didn't install anything new and as far as my security programs show, I have not been infected with a virus or malwear....
Just an update... 9 days and still not fixed... I have had to install different programs for some of my functionality back however I still cannot change any permissions... Some apps will allow me to tap outside of the notification and still use them however some things I still cannot do such as view recently recorded vids or recently taken pictures. Still hoping someone can find a fix for this issue.
Has anyone attempted to use The Google Dialer and get call screening working? Wasn't sure if anyone had yet, but was curious. I'd gotten it working on my 6T and 7 Pro, but understand the development has been very different for our device.

I couldn't get call screening working granted I didn't exactly try that hard to get it working. Just systemized the dialer app and flashed Google dialer framework magisk module
Idk what else is needed to make it work.
I bet I can get it working. I remember a
the thread for the OnePlus 7 Pro about call screening, everyone said that it wasn't working, I had mine up and running without any problems. Currently I'm waiting for my unlock token from OnePlus, so I can't confirm if this method will work, but I'll tell you exactly what I did before and I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work now. Try it out and then let me know if it works or not. It doesn't, maybe we can come up with a workaround.
The version number of the dialer that you use is critical. New versions of the Google dialer from the Play store via Google Framework do not work. Here's the link to the APK that I used:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...le-phone-39-0-270797297-android-apk-download/
The initial steps I performed were downloading the Magisk modules Busybox for NDK, Google Framework, and App Systemizer alongside installing Preferences Manager from the Play Store.
Then I cleared the storage for the stock dialer app, denied all of its permissions, and finally disabled it. Then I used App Systemizer to convert the Google Dialer into a system app. When App Systemizer gives you the option to install either the app as a 1 - system app or 2 - priv-app, always choose number 2. Then make sure to go into system settings and choose the Google Dialer as the default dialer app, otherwise icall screen won't work at all. Also go ahead and clear Google Dialer's storage while enabling all of it's permissions. Also go under Apps & Notifications in the system menu and choose special app access. Enable the Google Dialer to draw over other apps, modify system settings, and have usage access.
Next open up Preferences Manager. Grant it superuser access and from options choose "show system apps". Scroll down the list until you come to where you start seeing entries for "phone". On my old OnePlus 7 Pro, the one to choose was the first one listed as "phone". It didn't have an icon next to it versus the stock Dialer app which did. When you open this option up, swipe from left to right until you get to the heading "dialer_phenotype_flags.xml". First, choose backup under the menu in case there's a problem afterwards and you need to restore the flags to their previous settings. Then go to the search field and search for all the flags with "speak_easy", "speakeasy", "call_screen", and "callscreen", then update all of these flags with values of "true".
The way to determine if this procedure worked is to now open up ithe Google Dialer and choose the three dot menu and choose "Settings". You should see an option listed for "Call Screen". If you do see it then the process worked.
Let me know if you need any further information but I think that should work.

Just finished trying this, worked like a charm! Thank you so much! This was the only thing making me consider going back to my pixel 3a xl, but now it's clear that you can have the best of both worlds!
Should we post this in the Mods category for this device? I know a lot of people would be happy to have this!
First off I'm so glad to hear that it worked for you! It's a pretty nifty feature and I personally think it's pretty cool.
To be honest with you, that was pretty much my first time ever posting anything to XDA. Most of the time I just go through the forums and tried to get new features to work on my phone, but hardly ever participate in the actual discussions
if you honestly think this could help other XDA members get this up and running, I'd love to help. But to be honest with you I'm not really familiar with starting a thread and stuff like that. If you don't mind, could you tell me what I need to do to do that? Is that like starting a new thread somewhere in the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition discussions? I'm an absolute total new when it comes to posting and forums and discussion groups, and I have no idea what the protocol is for doing something like that. I'd really appreciate it if you could kind of guide me in the right direction or make some suggestions as to how I go about doing it.
Well, just to reiterate, I'm really excited that it work for you and hopefully we can get it to work for other people as well. Just respond to this message and let me know what I can do to help. Thanks again!

Personally, running a year old version of Google Dialer just to get Call Screen isn't worth it. Have you tested Call Screen to see if it actually fully works? Or if in reality the person calling hears nothing at all?

I've been running it with no issues on OOS and it works perfectly fine. Tested call screening and it works perfectly fine. Personally, I think it's worth it.
I'm running AOSiP now and I've yet to test it there. But OOS is confirmed to be working with it.
Has anybody been able to make it work on any of the custom ROMs? I tried smreker's steps on aosip but I couldn't get Google dialer to install. Just finished flashing lineage and aside from the fingerprints, this thing is running like it's good enough to say bye bye to oxygen.

I was testing today on aosip ROM and it did not work. The caller can't hear the Google assistant voice. I'm going to be looking into this more to see why it works on stock ROM, but not a customer ROM..
Aosip ships with Google dialer pre-installed, so you need to use debloat magisk module to uninstall it, and then reinstall it with the older APK file.. I may have messed up the installation on my end, so any other testing from other users would be greatly appreciated. I may reach out to the developers to see if they can figure out what I may be missing.
I never reinstalled another dialer app, so that could have something to do with it. However, I don't see why that would be the case, but you never know with these things. Thinking about it now, I didn't remove telophony apps on the phone either, so that could also have something to do with it? Any ideas?

I'm trying to think of the different variables that could affect it, maybe something I did, that I didn't mention. Did you disable your stock dialer? Cause I tried it to today and it works super, transciptions and everything. Nothing should be different than the previous instructions, besides spoofing the device fingerprint. Maybe try disabling it and clearing data and then enabling it again?
Edit: I just read your previous posts. Never mind the stock dialer. This new method works with the latest Google phone update, so maybe try reverting your stock dialer back and then updating it?

That's a little beyond my expertise. I can only describe what I did, and those steps made it work for me. I haven't heard any other reports of it not working or working so we shall see. I'm thinking that the downloads for call screening are corrupted for you or something, if you're saying that the audio is not working, if you could clear that and start the process afresh?
My phone has been acting really weird for a few months now and I can't figure it out. Is there a way to find all apps on the phone user installed, system, and hidden?? My phone isnt rooted; well I havent rooted it nor does it say it has. For instance earlier when I pushed my volume button there was an accessibility guy there nothing would open when I pushed him and while looking threw my accessibility settings and checking here and there to see if he was still there, he just vanishes without me turning anything off. Like WTF. Theres other weird things but that's just the most recent 1. And it's got me very concerned. Pls help!!
Your probably have a setting on in Accessibility like visibility enhancements or screen reader, you'll need to turn it off.
For list of apps you can view them in Settings > Apps ( Tap the 3 dots on the top right and tap "Show system apps" )

That's what I thought at first so I went threw my accessibility settings and they r all off. He hasn't been back so far that I have noticed. I know there r some spyware and malware that u can hide from being seen or make it look like some random app. Is there a way to use like adb or android studio to scan it for something that shouldn't be there.

I'm not sure too much about malware, I do know that Samsung has their own "Security Features" in Settings > Device Care > Security if you want to scan your device, also try Play Protect.
Seeing that the Accessibility issues are out of the way, what other problems are you experiencing ?

I saw the guy again but this time I kinda got to look at the running services and I found this. Could that have something to do with it?? As u can kinda tell, once I forced stopped that cloud messaging service the time changed on it and went under the dual messenger service. But as I was saying beforehand, google play services always had a pop up saying using headphones in the background. But my data doubled in the last 2-3 months, things I download will just disappear and pictures (like my phone will restore itself a few days but not my messages or calls), my phone also keeps adding a new camera gallery like it's not connected anymore and is a new camera same with the screenshot folder. Theres also a few other things

So Cloud Messaging's time would change because after you stopped the process it restarted itself. But the other things make it look like your phone is being haunted
