Im on CM7 stable and i need an app which can change cpu frequencies and vsels without having to go to the bootloader and having to reboot. I know setvsel is there but i know it shouldnt be installed on CM7. However i did install it and it doesnt work.

if you have root explorer, you can edit the overclock file in system/bootmenu/config. For the changes to affect, i guess we need to reboot anyway!
Before I got CM7, I used something called 'Milestone Overclock' which can be found on the market, and requires root. It was very simple to use and allowed you to set a custom combination of frequency and voltage. It also allowed more than 1000MHz like the CM7 app, I think 1.2 was the limit. (I never went above 1000 though!!)
Thanks guys. The root explorer overclock shows me 4 values while the bootloader only shows 3?

Where did you get flash player and is it working?
Install Android 2.3.4, 2.2 is old.
I got it from the link in the thread asking about it, and it works flawlessley

Get a custom 2.3.4 ROM and overclock your CPU!
What is the highest i can overclock to without my phone blowing up in my face??

I tried several flash player hacks for Blade, but they could only view the ads at best, the built-in videos got my phone freeze, reboot, or just loading for too much time.
A great thing to do is installing adfree and removing those annoying ads!
Try 691! Its stable for pretty much everybody! But you can give 710 or even higher a chance, but do not check "set on boot" while experimenting!
titanium backup!!

What ROM &/or kernel are you running? Certain ones allow for higher overclocking...

Stock Rom & kernel I had 3 failed attempts at perm root so been temp rooting

Follow Gfree method and I assure you you'll get perm root.

Also, you can't get higher than 1ghz because the stock kernel caps at 1ghz. You'll need to perm root and flash either a new kernel or a new ROM to allow OC'ing past 1ghz.

That would be why. First of all, the stock kernel can't be overclocked, it's coding won't allow that (or if it can be overclocked, it can't be very stable). Secondly, you must perm root for any custom clock settings to stick after a reboot. If you haven't been able to perm root, it may because you have the "bad" eMMC. A rooting method that works in that case is posted as a sticky in the dev section.
Thanks both of u anyway just in case I have a bad emmc can I have a link to dev way of rooting with that bad emmc

Just because you might have the bad chip dose not mean that can't root its because of the bootloader

you are incorrect. a plethora if users with the "bad" emmc have reported inability to root via visionary.
I still don kno if I have the bad emmc or not but I was still able to root it via gfree yesterday

search on xda. you will find the thread on how to check.
I can attest to the gfree + visionary method posted under the stickies. I was brand new to rooting and this method worked flawlessly for me. Only a week ago I didn't even know what rooting was, now I have the ULTIMATE s-off with engineering hboot (0.85.2007) and I have flashed the virtuous unity 1.31 pyramid with v4 kernel. I also loaded the Perfect Rosie 3.0 mod and the panache radio. XDA has been the best resource for me. I just wish I had enough posts to "thank" all the devs out there for the tools to get it done.
Hi there;
Did any one heard about how to tweek the sgd using the build.prop file located in: \system\
Cause someone did some amazing tweek on is X10 using the build.prop file. Cause he's phone beat myne when we do a test with quadran even if close all my apps & services running in background. If anyone heard about that, just let me know.
Now my sgs is running stock gb 2.3.5 XXJVT with UGKG3 modem and with Semaphore_1.8.0bm kernel overclock to 1200mhz.

In the op for the Franco kernel it says there's an interface for overclocking the GPU, I feel like this is a stupid question but I can't seem to find it can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks
either use the franco kernel app or go to /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/gpu_oc/ with a root file explorer(like root explorer) and manually edit the variable and save it.
Trickster mod app also works.

If your rooted then use trickster mod app in playstore.

I downloaded No-frills CPU Control and toggle on apply at boot. Of course, you have to be rooted to do this, but pretty sure you have to be to change governor at all.
