4shared Giving Free 15GB Storage. - Epic 4G General

I dont know if most of yall already know what this this but any ways 4shared
is similar to dropbox but i just signed up and they gave me 15gb free online storage
and also there os an android app in the market.
I figure id share the info if you didnt know because i just found out. lol
http://www.4shared.com/

Does it have a desktop app that's as good as Dropbox, for free? If not, yawn.
Also, 4shared has bandwidth limits and waiting times. Dropbox has transfer (not bandwidth) limits, and direct, unf'd-with links.

Is there an image upload app that gives me the direct FREAKING link to the image!!

I'm so sick of this. Picasa, Twitter, Photobucket... all of these pieces of garbage just give me a link to their website where I have to jump through hoops to get the direct image url. ANybody found something better?
I'm so annoyed by this.
Imageshack, they have it
I swear you can get the direct link from photobucket? I use it all the time..
But, can't you also just right click the image and get its address?

Searched for imageshack in the market.. their app (yFrog) sucked. But another app that came up called URLy seems to actually do this with very little hassle! Finally, I can sleep at night.
imgur is perfect very simple upload then a link to the pic
^oh nice! This app is even better. Going once... going twice... [/Closed]
dropbox. If you use my referral link we both get extra free space! http://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTY3MzA1Nzk
Not an app, but Flickr has unlimited bandwidth and storage. I pay for the Pro account but you still get unlimited bandwidth on the free one.

Yeah I'm not worried about saving them. I have Picasa for that, but I just want an app that quickly uploads and gives me the DIRECT url. Imgur works perfectly.

Minus Online Storage

seems to be another dropbox type site, but I got 10GB right off the get go. Just thought I would let everyone know about it.
If interested, please use the link in my sig.
Btw, they tweeted earlier that you can get up to 50GB for free when signing up.

The box.net you have to sign up with more than one email for a collaboration account we(TRN) use one to share files between devs I may need to look into this one for personal use tho, how are the upload speeds I used opensync for a while but it took forever to upload anything u were limited to 500mb at a time and upload bandwidth was low Id say 100kbps Max so I gave up I just sync to and external drive for my backups now

Uploading seems to go pretty quick. Not quite as easy to navigate as dropbox, or share to be honest. But for the amount of space, I am still a supporter.
Enjoy

Yeah, not to shabby. I was under my wifi. Threw a couple songs, and pics up. I will still say I like the user interface of dropbox better still. But again you can't beat the amount of storage you get.

Edit: I found the app easier to navigate and easier to upload with from mobile since my browser kept getting killed in the background

I thought it was only for LG and sony experia arc handsets?
For those who download the new Android Box app, or upgrade their existing app, the company is throwing in 50GB of free storage for life, while file upload limits will jump to 100MB. A normal Box account provides 5GB of free storage. The company has done this with other app launches, like iOS, which received 1 million downloads in the first five days.
Box > Dropbox, love the 50GB very useful.
Both my Box accounts said upgraded to 50GB .

Yup, mine just upgraded also
Good stuff and many thx!

free 50GB is great although there is a 100MB file limit
100mb upload makes it pretty pathetic to me, & I certainly ain't got 50gb of photos & videos under 100mb.
If the 100mb limit isn't removed, they could offer people 500gb+, its just a word - as people won't be able to use it due to the upload limit.

very useful !
Two good deals have arisen for android users lately to do with cloud storage. Dropbox with up to 5gb free earned storage with using their camera upload and unlimited upload filesize limit, and now this, box.net with 50gb but only 100mb upload filesize limit.
Why can't one of them take the initiative and give 50gb free storage and unlimited file size upload limit!?
I have to say that at the moment dropbox has got my attention because this is old news from box.net. Especially since pc sync software from dropbox is free opposed to box.net's paid business pc sync!
On the other hand, they are businesses in it to make money!!

Yeah, not allowed. Its not a "deal".
Don't see why you need more space if you're a student though.

Ok, I have 9GB, please tell.
You sign up for Google ads and get free money on it.. then you link those adds to your drop box. When you have the preset "x amount" of adds you wanted to use all free ad money. Stop it and freeze account. With adds u can get a lot of drop box space

Or just sign up for G-Drive (5GB Free, which all G-Docs do not count to data limit)
Or Cubby.com (Also 5 GB) (I have invites)
Or Box.net (50GB when you signup from an Android Tablet)
Or SkyDrive (Don't know Limit, but higher than DropBox)
Or... do it like me. Had an HTC One X, got 25 GBs from there. Traded up to a Samsung Galaxy S3, and got an additional 50 GBs. Have 75 GBs and all I did was sign in on my phone.
Magical, eh?

Skydrive gives you 7GB free upon sign-up and has an Android app coming very soon.

Ok, so the problem I have is I want to do a backup of about 30gb of photos. However, most of the mentioned solutions cost too much or do not have a method to upload folders of photos, they want individual files chosen. I have a 25gb sky drive and a 50gb box.net.
You can't possibly expect a service to be cheap.
Just buy a backup HDD then.
Sorry, can't allow it.

Best file hosting site?

What is the best file hosting site... My personal priorities (no specific order): no file size limit, fast DL speeds for people tryna DL your files, fast upload speeds, FREE, be able to access files on the go and on y computer (computer+mobile app).
My personal favorite way to share files is torrents. If its not practical for whatever your needs are im also a fan of dropbox, mega , and 4shared. Not sure what the file limits on the sites are. I typically use torrents for anything over 500 mb.

Well it doesnt really matter what tracker you upload it to. As youd still have to seed it. You could upload to thepiratebay, isohunt , etc. I have a desktop setup at home that I seed from.

Thanks man. 4Shared had a 200MB file upload cap so I deleted that account. But Mega is pretty legit and is allowing me to upload my 1.5 GB backup of my ROM so I'm pretty happy with this so far! Dropbox was WAYY to slow to upload and download.
Pilebay - Free File Hosting
New file hosting website with affiliate program
PileBay.com was created as a fresh alternative for online file storage to sites like MegaUpload and RapidShare. Unlike those sites, we do
not reel the user in and make them wait for annoying countdown timers. We do not hide the download link with aggressively placed ads. Our
goal is simple, to offer the most basic file hosting service so you can share your stuff quickly.
