Hi, I recently purchased a pro x5, but I have a very annoying problem, the wifi does not work. Mind you not that I can not connect, but does not boot, when I give the check to "active wi fi" I check "Activation wi fi in progress" and then "ERROR", reboot and wipe to no avail. The guy who sold it to me said to him that everything worked perfectly, however I would be back for assistance, but the guy I sold it and upgraded Nobrand with the root, if I wanted to delete all this stuff and how I could bring it back to 2.2 vodafone do? Unfortunately the phone I dropped a bit from the heart after this, however, looks advice, thank you all!

Ever since I flashed my rom with the 4.00.10 I have not been able to get my old image back on it nor flash a different rom image. Have I totally messed this thing up? This is the error that I get...
error getting connectiontype
Even though it connects with active sync just fine, it says it can't get connection type. How can I overcome this? I booted up to the bootloader diagnosis and tested the USB connection and it passed. I am a novice and should not have been messing with this and now I want my original rom back!
Please help me. What can I do to fix this problem on my XDA?
Desperate.
I Just Had to Walk Away and Come Back
Whew! I read some more and discovered the very small step that I had missed all weekend. Everything works now except my GPRS connection. I will read some more to fix that! Thank goodness for this forum!!
Hey guys. I would love some help here; recently I had my Nexus 4 lost, and found again. I called Virgin (My phone company) and cut my phone service off. Once I found it, I called and turned it back on. For about an hour it kept saying that the network could not be found, and when I tried to force it to connect in the settings, it said my sim card couldn't be used on the network. I did factory reset from the menu, but it only got worse. It than wouldn't even recognize I had a sim card. I looked online about IMEI and typed in #*06#* or whatever it was, and there was nothing there. Completely blank. I have no idea what to do, and am currently trying to flash stock rom. If it helps, I was running Paranoid Android 3.99 RC2 when I turned my phone service off. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks.
*EDIT*: I restored to Android 4.4 using the factory image provided by Google, and I now have a IMEI number, but it still wont allow me to connect to the network.
*EDIT 2*: After doing some research on the Virgin site, I found out that there was a blacklist that your phones IMEI goes on after reporting it stolen. Basically, when I called in to get it off of it, it was never taken off. Those ****ers said it was going to cost me $150. This thread can be kept for future reference to other people, or deleted if needed. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, but I now have a IMEI number when I flashed Google's stock 4.4 image, but it still says it cant connect to the network. Any ideas?
Just restore any CWM or TWRP backup. It worked for me after i lost my imei and basband while flashing 4.4.
Nothing to do about a blacklist. Ask them again and explain the situation. Contact a consumer rights organization otherwise.

i'm sorry for the long post, i really appreciate your help
i really need help to get this galaxy s3 GT-I9300 to regonize my sim card.
i bought it from ebay i've used it for a long time works fine,
but because it's an unlocked version and from ebay i'm not sure what region it is
i messed with rooting and stuff and decided to do "restore to stock".
i thought it'd be easy like the nexus or iphone, i followed this guide. it restored the system apps/firmware fine but still keeps all existing data instead of deleting them like it said.
and then when it boots it shows "LaFleur" which i never saw before
and now it's "emergency calls only" does not recognize sim (100% not the physcial sim card problem)
i tried this but did not work.
i also went to settings -> mobile networks-> search results were AT&T (correct carrier i'm using) but it says "your sim card does not allow a connection to this network"
i know i made something wrong with the software not hardware but i can't understand why official tool (Samsung Kies) broke my device.
Please help because i receive a lot of calls so i need to get this working again ASAP. Thanks a lot
I'm sorry i just realized that i posted in the wrong forum, it should be in Q&A
By using kies you've restored what ever firmware the phone was manufactured with, it doesn't sound like an unlocked handset.
Instead follow the guide in general forum, stickies, to flash your own countries generic rom, then factory reset.
Your network issue is likely to be a result of the handset not being properly unlocked. None of the free patches to unlock work with newer firmwares -by updating you've reinstated the network lock. If you made a backup of the efs folder before you started then you might be able to restore and go back to a firmware that can be patched.
Otherwise you've have to buy an unlock code.

I also have the feelings that this phone was not properly unlocked. So the eBay guy sold me not a factory unlocked version but a version he unlocked on his own?
Forgot to mention my IMEI is now 0049... My baseband now has "BELL" in it (Canada carrier?) Also it does show the phone number in About-Status. But network state is out of service.
I don't understand how an official program changed my IMEI to a generic one and I have no EFS backup.

Let me preface this with some quick info about the phone. I bought it two years ago and it was SIM locked to Vodafone, Vodafone basically told the guy selling it to me it'd take 6 weeks to unlock so to get around this I went to a third party phone shop who told me they unlocked it but it wasn't until later I realised they had actually changed the IMEI of the device to get it to work. This was okay though, the phone worked fine and didn't give any real issues until two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago my N910F on Kyubi Note 5 Port ROM began telling me "not registered on network" (couldn't make calls, texts or use 3G), I went through standard troubleshooting with my carrier and it didn't appear to be on their end (the SIM worked in a Galaxy S 3 I have spare). I decided to update to 6.0.1 stock from Sammobile using Odin to see if it solved the issue, unfortunately it didn't. I was advised by something I found online to check if the IMEI was blacklisted on Swappa- turned out it was. I brought it back to the shop who had originally changed the IMEI. The guy in the shop told me it wasn't blacklisted but the reason for no service was because the device had a sum of "none" where the serial number should be when you dial *#06#.
He "fixed" the devices by changing the IMEI again and reverting to 4.4.4. He told me not to update it and everything would be fine. Obviously I wasn't too happy with being stuck on KitKat so he told me if I need to come back within 2 weeks after breaking it again that he'll fix it for free. Now the phone on 4.4.4 was giving a serial number and everything appeared fine.
I flashed 6.0.1 onto it and again the S/N became "none", but everything still more or less worked despite this. Since then I have Rooted it, flashed TWRP and installed Xposed. Once I installed Xposed problems began to arise again, the phone is reporting the SD card as corrupted repeatedly, everytime the phone turns on, once finished booting I will get a black screen with just a navigation bar and an empty battery icon (then after 2-3 mins it's fine), 3G wouldn't work at all, wifi passwords aren't being remembered, following boot I get the error message "process system is not responding would you like to close it".
Thankfully I made a backup in TWRP before putting Xposed on the device and restored the system to that this morning, which fixed the 3G issue but all of the other problems are still there (despite not having been there before Xposed was installed).
What should I try now? Should I go back to the guy again? Should I try revert to stock 4.4.4 or 5.1.1 through Odin? I'm really tempted to just cut my losses and sell it, but I love the phone so much. Any help is massively appreciated.

Changing the IMEI is illegal in most countries and therefore the discussion thereof is prohibited on XDA.

Hoping to get some assistance or maybe even just clarification on this topic...
So, I purchased an unlocked S8 Active with the Sprint branding for use on T-Mobile network. After updating the proper APN settings, I was up and running fine, but wanted to get Wi-Fi calling back, so I flashed over to the latest T-Mobile firmware available at Sammobile - G892USQS3BRG5. Ok, before you say anything, yes, it was stupid to flash a brand new v3 bootloader, but it's done so no going back (to my knowledge). Anyways, flash went fine on Odin 13.3.1, but upon reboot there is the Sprint splashscreen. It even tried to constantly verify the SIM card with the Sprint OMADM app, which I have since uninstalled through adb.
Any chance anyone can provide any insight into this (admittedly minor) issue? I don't really have any major issues other than the aforementioned Wi-Fi calling is gone, and I have to use a third party messaging app due to MMS not playing nicely with the Samsung version. Any help on this would be great, and maybe we can stir up some discussion to help prevent someone else from making the same mistake.
I'm curious where you got the ODIN you used.
I have an S8 Active, but an AT&T version, and need to do the same thing - I want to flash G892USQS3BRG5 onto it for the same reason - WiFi Calling won't work AND I cannot get cell calls when my WiFi is on which has resulted in me missing important calls.
When I tried to flash I got a PIT error using what I think was the same version of Odin (patched).
I'm pretty new at this reflashing stuff so perhaps I did something stupid?
Thanks
