Hey guys just wondering if there is anybody in Melbourne or Australia or anywhere for that matter that may have a old broken HD2 (preferably T9193) that i might be able to use for spares ?? I currently have one and have dropped it and now it's colours are up the sh*t i have done a screen and digitizer replacement and without any luck the problem still persists any ideas would also be greatly appreciated
Ps. if i twist the phone in oposite directions the problem goes away which leads me to believe that something has come away from the board itself i have looked and cant see a thing any suggestion would be greatly appreciated
Maybe mainboard connector, have you tried applying pressure to connector socket/ribbon with it stripped but screen, mainboard rigged up with battery & bench test it while applying pressure to mainboard connector/ribbon with insulated/earthed tool.
maybe abble to fix it if can find out exact point of problem but most HD2 faults need replacement parts to cure faults long term ...

My 2i's charging connector broke. Sent it back to O2's repair centre and they specifically said that the mainboard has to be changed. Anybody here know of any thrifty way to get hold of a mainboard or a something similar? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Vincent
fixed same problem my self
Hi ,
I received a similar device from a collegue.
His charging connector was completely severed from his mainbord.
I opened the device and solderd it back on my self. Device is working again.
If you have te same problem maybe it's cheaper to find someone who can do this for you then looking for a replacement mailboard.
I have to say I had to try it 2 time because the connections where really tiny.

exactly...tiny...
You're right, it's very small, plus I have fat fingers. Well, maybe I should get someone to do it for me. I was hoping for a short cut solution and not too expensive one as well. I might try that after the holidays..
I hope someone can help...
In the process of replacing my LCD, i damaged the main ribbon cable (it has a small tear). Does anyone have one to sell or know where i could buy a new one??
thanks
Dean
Try here... http://www.gethightech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=CS
and here... https://www.cellulardr.com/proddetail.php?prod=Cingular8525LCD&cat=125
It's amazing what that Google thing can do.
thanks for your reply - google is indeed a marvelous tool. Unfortunately, I've had no problems locating a replacement LCD, its the ribbon cable which i need - the one which connects the LCD through the sliding keyboard, also accommodating the camera and ear piece.
now, if you could pull that one from google, you've got a friend for life....
thanks
dean
Try it there:

However, the one in the link is for the sister model. I was going to contact this firm to see it they have it for our Hermes too, but I'm waiting to see if I really need one - maybe later...
If you're successfull in finding one either at the above firm or elsewhere let us know!
Thank you / You're well come !!!
thanks microft - I sent an email to the company requesting a flex ribbon for the Hermes, I'll keep you posted on the outcome. I also found this mob:
http://www.factory2customer.com/index.php/cat/Home/cat_id/33218
The have all the parts but they appear to be only a wholesale operation. I'm also waiting to hear back from them.....
Anyone else got any leads???
It appears i'm caught by the boo-boo's. The only company authorized to stock the ribbon cable in Australia are Mobile Phone Solutions, who won't supply the item, just repair for quite a tidy sum. They also have quite a long waiting list.....
Is there anybody out there who can sell me one?
please...
Hi
i'm Claudio from Italy and my htc display suddenly became black
When i push keys the keyboard light and i hear bip but nothing in diplay.
If i connect to PC i see the files and the SD .
I'm not expert so i ask if there is a solution or i must throw away the HTC.
Thanx very much
You might be able to sell it for parts, got get a new LCD screen
hi,
do you think it's no possible a software problem(virus) ?
Tnx
Claudio
Welcome to forums
To discard that a hard reset should be done, but have in mind if it´s the screen problem that maybe you won´t be able to use it.
Good luck,
It sounds like most likely a flex cable problem. Flex cable and hinge can be purchased on eBay as one unit (the assembly makes separation impossible), however, there is always some danger that problem may be caused by the LCD itself or the mainboard. The only way to diagnose the problem is by process of elimination - to try your board in another working machine and then trying another screen in your device.
OK
I'll try
Thank you
I'm guessing this is your problem =] (oj)

Where could i purchase such parts, As i'm thinking of revaming my uni with a new case and screen bits as well as a new battery =]
- i've found a case for the vodaphone version which is sliver, but gives me a full re-kit : Screen case, Keyboard case, + Keyboard.
but tbh i really want a new full black XDA Exec (02) re-kit with the same parts
Hey Volks,
Today i realized strange display issues with my HTC Touch HD. The ROM on it was original by the Provider (Telekom Germany) so i doubt it is a Flashing issue. I attached a screenshot for reference. Now my question: Seems this to be a hardware or software issue? Is flashing something that could solve this issue? If it is a hardware issue, would it be a good idea to repair it by myself? (i'm not complete stupid ) - What needs to be replaced? It seems that the touchscreen himself is working (pixels changing when pressing on the display).
Greetz,
Matthias
hi dude,
this seems to look like a hardware issue.
but..
i would flash a new rom or hard reset to check if it is software issue.
if the problem still exists after a reflash or hard reset, i would open your device and have a look for the problem yourself (its not rocket science )
you want to check the ribbons that connect the LCD to the motherboard.
(ribbons are clamped to motherboard so make sue you unclip the clamps that hold the ribbon in place, now check them for damage, dust or dirt)
be carefull though because the ribbons can break easily, trust me
after cleaning the ribbons, checking for damage etc, if device is still displaying like pic, i would buy a new LCD.
(ebay is the best place to go for a new LCD, it is best to buy an original LCD btw)
hi guys

You'll probably have a lot of trouble getting that back on, are you rooted?
youll have to replace the entire main flex cable the power button is attached to.
