I was trying to use a program from fastgsm to unlock my phone, when it stopped mid running. This has left the phone unable to pick up a signal even with the default t-mobile sim card.
Is there anyway to resolve this or is the phone broken.
Need help as phone is brand new and would be quite upset if i've broke it.

I have a Qtek 9100 running the latest ROM and radio, etc on the Cingular network. The other day I get no signal, and reboot do not fix the problem. I take the sim card, and put it in a different phone. The other phone gets a signal, but says I can make emergency calls only. After about an hour on the phone with a Cingular rep I agree to drive to the store and get a replacement card. The replacement card fixed the problem. 4 days later, I am back to the same problem. The cingular rep is now blaming the phone after they can't figure out whats wrong. He is telling me the phone is "Zapping" the sim card. I find this hard to believe, but has anyone had this problem before? Has anyone ever tried to do an RMA with Qtek? Any help would be great, as i'm ready to put this 9100 on ebay and be done with it, unless an RMA with Qtek is worth it.
Happened to me last week with my 9100 (still running the original ROM). Got a new SIM and it's been running fine since.
i've had my 9100 rom on my 8125 for acout 2 weeks now without any major problems. the only problem I have is that it switches back and forth from gprs to edge a lot, but it doesn't bother me.
have you tried to reflash back to the cingular rom? it couldn't hurt.
I actually am running the Cingular ROM. I already replaced the SIM card 4 days ago, and it worked for about 4 days until it broke again. It doesnt make much sense, because something has to be corrupting the SIM card. When I ran *#*#364#*#* GSM utility, it would give me no data at all. Obviously the SIM card is dead (But still reads contacts on the SIM), and reauthorizing it does nothing to restore it. I will get a replacement today and verify the SIM continues to work in a different handset before I put it back in the 9100. Also I plan to factory default, and upgrade to latest ROMS etc before I try it again just in case. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know. Thanks.

Aqueous, very much the same problem here. I got my Qtek9100 yesterday and I am connecting to Cingular. When I switch on the phone it takes forever to latch to network. The

Y... keeps happening for ever and ever. But once, it latches it stays on to it firmly. If I put the sim in my old phone Nokia3230, it just connects to cingular with a snap as soon as the phone is switched on. When I tap on the " Y " region it shows "searching...". I also tried doing a manual/automatic network detection in settings. During the time the "Y. Y.. Y..." keeps going, the manual detection of networks doesnt show a single network in the list. I dont know what could the problem be, since the sim just works perfect in old phone.

Hi,
I was using the phone a few hours ago and everything is working fine.
Now, I'm trying to make a call and cannot! It says "no service found" and there is an exclmation mark next to antenna. I tried manually selecting the T-mobile network. Still, not working.
Also, all of a suddent, it won't let me access my contact list. It won't let me run any programs. It won't even let me get to the Phone program.
It won't recognize my miniSDA card either.
I rebooted the MDA and did the soft reset 4-5 times, still not working.
I did drop the phone in a parking lot 2 days ago, but it didn't physically have any damage and it's been working fully since that drop..up until just NOW!
I called T-mobile Support ... they are willing to give me a replacement MDA..so I guess that will be fine.
However, I cannot access my contact list - Does anyone know any way I can get my contacts off this MDA ???
Also, 4 mos ago, I installed a ROM from this site which supposedly unlocks the phone. Will T-mobile have a problem with this when they recv my phone ? Or no problem?

The phone will not sync with my laptop running latest ver of active sync.
It will say "connected" on both MDA and Laptop, then I get a pop up error on my laptop, some thing like:
" unable to syncronize with device, please check device and try again etc.."
OK - I got a replacement from T-mobile.
Now, can anyone tell me how to get my OLD contacts off the old mda and into the new one?

Hi i have a Hermes phone i bought off ebay approximatley 3/4 weeks ago.I have put my sim card in from my contract phone and been using it. I upgraded it to the Schaps newest rom and it has worked brilliantly untill now. Recently i have been unable to accept or make calls/texts or recieve them. When i try to ring it just does that annoying beep thing from the phone speaker. When i try to call it it said Calls are not currently beeing connected to this phone. I have looked and the only thing that google says it could be is that the phone is barred. Is this true? What can i do next? Help please..

Hi, Just bought my phone yesterday. After unpacking and going through the tutorial, i am not able to use any of the phone features on my HD2.
In the settings menu there is a switch to turn on the phone functions but that seems to freeze and after pressing nothing happened.
Everything else works except the phone features.
Can any one help.
make sure you have the right network provider selected (auto or your provider) maybe trying to connect to the wrong one or since you have not installed anything yet you might as well try a hard reset
Apologies if this comes across as a stupid question but have you put the SIM card in the right way? From memory, it goes in backwards with the clipped corner pointing out.

I went to ask my provider why my sim card wasn't working and why the phone was running slow and crashing.
The reason why it wouldn't recognize is because the sim card is about 6 years old and it needed updating. The HD2 didn't recognize the old sim card.
It works perfectly now and I am so happy i picked the right phone

I have had an unlocked Dell Venue Pro for almost 2 years and its been working fine except the usual freezing after the phone heats up while using a data connection and the terrible camera problem.
Yesterday when i was using a data connection on my DVP it heated up and froze, when i removed the battery and restarted it the phone has been working fine but it keeps giving me an error of invalid sim!!! I cant use any sim on this phone now i keep getting the invalid sim or locked sim error, all the sims are use work fine on other phones. Why am i facing this problem when i got this phone unlocked? And why after 2 friggin years restarting this phone caused it to lock the sim? This makes no sense to me at all. Obviously im out of warranty since it has been 2 years ive been using this device without any major problems. The phone seems to be working fine beside this issue, wifi networks can be connected and there are no other issues!
Can anyone please please please help me out?

Sorry bro.
I had the same issue, had the phone exchanged by DELL. I couldn't find any way to fix it.
Maybe try to clean and reseat your SIM card...
