Hi guys, im running 7.5 on my HD2, and i havent found a solution to film with flashlight on if its dark outside.
the htc flashlight app doesnt run in background if i switch to camera...(in android this was the way i did it)
does someone have any ideas how to get over my problem?
best regards!
which ROM you use?
Back to the Future [XBmod-Yuki][Updatable]Build 8107 Ready
i dont know if it works: try another flashlight app from market, apart from htc flashlight
no harm in trying eh?
i solved my problem:
just installed the DFT fruit rom, it has a very nice expanded camera with this feature
but thx for your help!

I dont know if this is posted or anything but just figured out a kool trick with the awesome power of multitasking!
1. grab a torch app (N1 Torch)
2. turn the torch on from widget
3. load camera app and switch to video and enjoy! ^_^
Nice! Thanks
It doesn't work with the Desire camcorder (just shuts off) although it's fine with the stock one.
If you have the Desire camcorder, then a workaround is to install Qik from the market, and then you can use the LED flash with the Qik camcorder.
nice tip, thanks!
Sorry still haven't tried that desire camera yet but this works on stock camera
Hey guys
Im wondering if its possible to access the photolight in my program? Dont know where to look to find out.
Thanks in advance
I can't tell you 100% sure, but I heard that Android support the LED from version 2.0/2.1
I noticed that Barcode Scanner offer the option to turn on the camera light, and it works on my X10. So I'd assume that there are software hooks that work in 1.6.
start your camera, and push the silver button (one with 4 squares on it)..
advanced settings, then photo light
I know how to get it on like that but i want to make an app as just a flashlight. Is there anywhere that shows you how to use specific hardware?
@beermonkey182 if you manage to find this out and make this app, I'll buy it
Well. Enable it with barcode scanner and it's enabled every time you start the app. Problem solved.
there is a free app in the market named "Xperia Flashlight", comes with widget, works wonderfull
LED Light ver 1.0.0 is for HTC but also works great on Xperia X10
There is also a great wee app called 'Flash Light'
If you search in the market for X10 you should find it.
Its great because it can be used as an app and/or a widget!
Hey,
I have switched off from MDJ's rom and one of the main things i miss is the TORCH/Flashlight app he had. It had such amazing options.
I have searched and searched. I tried copying the apk from system/app and signing it and then installing... no dice.
Can someone point me in the right direction please?
which build are you using??
any Sense builds (1.x & 2.0) have a little application that does the same thing.
for any non-sense builds I use Extended controls
it's a widget, and you turn of/off the torch as you do for the wifi
nice and easy
The app MDJ's rom had was insane. Strobe light and so on.
The stock HTC apps good as a flash light but not the other amazing features his on had.
I tried to take a picture to a document in a completly dark place , and I couldnĀ“t focus, i tried with default sense camera, camera zoom and camera 360, in my previous phone, samsung i900 it switch on the flash while focus an then took the picture.. i cant do it with hd2.. any help will be highly appreciated..
t seems that anyone ere likes to take pictures in the dark)
Yeah i know where your coming from, anywhere it's very dark or very bright it's impossible to see when your trying to focus,i was on the beach today with my son and taking some snaps of him playing and i couldn't see with the sun but thankfully the photos turned out ok but with my old digital camera i was able to see a lot more.
Just take the picture. The flash will come on and the picture will be able to be seen.
This is something I was stuck at too. Normally, on a phone with flash, in the dark, trying to focus would temporarily activate the flash to let the phone see where to focus, and then fix the focus on the spot and shoot the picture.
My HD2 won't do that. Just one of the little things no one thought of.
use the torch app widget to flick the torch on, it will; stay on when you jump to camera and focus will work.

pro-hdr-camera has a torch option in the flash settings which keeps the led on so you can focus in complete darkness, bought it just for that feature. also take pretty decent shots.

I have searched a lot but unable to get a perfect answer. Does anyone knows about this? If you dont know that is working or atleast know about what is not working that would be of great help.
Thanks in advance...
I have been using it daily for about 3 weeks now, and I honestly cant find anything that isnt working besides the camera and multitouch (which doesnt work on any ROM).
Maybe someone else can chime in here, but bottom line the rom is awesome!!

You said that camera and multitouch not working. Is is that camera is not working at all? Please clarify. As far as multitouch I am aware of it.
Everything is working for me and to be honest I am enjoying it more tan I ever thought I would. Not sure what are the problems experienced with camera, mine is working fine. Pictures are not as good as the one taken through Android that I have running off SD, but videos sure are great.
Having problems with XAP... anything because installer doesn't work for me. Both versions supposed to do the same job, in fact. Both claim the phone is either not connected or is locked.
Multitouch works fine for me - pictures are zoomed by pinching etc.
The Camera Issue was common on the HD7 that flash caused a green hue to pictures taken... As for MultiTouch its hit or miss.
For XAP problems in Mango (7720) you need to dev_unlock it using one of the files in Yuki-XBOXMOD CAB Directory that has a long list of cabs for Mango..

Used all the necessary cabs, tools etc - still no go
The camera does have a green hue - tried it last night at the party. Everyone looked like zombies that were dead for some time, haha. Will switch to Android on SD for photos.
- Camera takes greenish shots when using Flash.
- Using the camera button (call button), the camera doesn't focus and just takes the snap leading to blurry snaps. I dunno if this is a WP7 issue or not.
- Video Camera seems to have Continous Focus so in dark scenes it focuses and unfocuses every 10 seconds. Disabling auto focuses removes auto focus completely so thats not an option either.
This is for what I've seen. Its still 99% functional despite all this.
