U8800 Costume Rom Question - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800
Hi all,
I bought several weeks ago a U8800 and update to Oficial Rom 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but now i want to test a Costume rom on my phone.
I alredy tried to install this Rom - oxygen2.3.2-u8800, but when i restart the phone it freezes in Huawei screen. I´m a noob in the android system so please can anyone help me on this?
To install Oxigen rom i did the follow steps:
1- I did the Root with SuperOne Click 2.3.3
2- I Installed ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4
3-I did a backup of my oficial Rom
4-In ClockworkMod i didt wipe data and cache
5-And finally i tried to install Rom oxygen2.3.2-u8800
Is there anything missing on the installation process? This oxygen rom is good?
Is there a better Costune rom for my phone?
Thanks All.
PS - Sorry for my English
Sorry that I cannot give you any advice, cos i haven't used any custom ROM's yet
But does SuperOne Click 2.3.3 can root gingerbread?
can anyone confirm this?
If you want to use .32 kernel ROMs (oxygen, older CM7, older reta4rt´s MIUI, rtfpessoa`s MIUI and ELITE MIUI) then you need to have official 2.2 as a base. Yeah, this should. But maybe not written like this
And like other people said, you can only use .35 based roms after update.
Thx All for the help, and im sorry for the noob question.
I will try then with a .35 costume rom.
Thx once again

[Q] MIUI Porting and Kernels
Hey guys, I have just recently started developing and I have compiled a kernel and ramdisk into a boot image which works great on my phone. My goal is to port MIUI to my device. However, my problem is I don't see the link between kernel versions and android. I mean Gingerbread will run on a 2.6.32 and a 2.6.35 kernel version right? How is the VM and kernel linked? I'm currently on android 2.2 with kernel 2.6.32 and I want to run MIUI with 2.3.3(4). Are there settings or something that needs changing in the kernel? Any advice would be great.
[Q] Regarding OEX ROM
can anyone inform me which ROM I need to have installed first? 2.3.5 or 2.2? Thank you.
You need 3.2 kernel. You may upgrade from Tmn stock rom. Use also a 3.2 recovery like 4.0.0.5.
Sorry, I'm a bit confused, don't you mean .32 kernel? Doesn't that mean that I shouldn't upgrade to 2.3.5?
yep 2.2 based rom with .32 kernel. It is the same as oxygen but tweaked. Don't update to 2.3.5 if you want to try this.
alright, thanks!
ICS on CM7 gb kernel?
Hey guys! Thanks to the dev amazing work there is an ics built for our defy available. Epsylon3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353003 I want to flash this one, but im nor sure if its possible. My defy runs on cm7 (take a look at the Attached pic). do i have the gb kernel? or can i just flash the froyo version? thanks! //my phone got a green lense
Hi, I think it's possible to flash epsylon3's rom - if not try quarx's one (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432100 links to all builds) Greetz
you are on froyo kernel so you can flash epsylon's defy build
Aurora ICS 4.1 compatible .35 kernel?
Does anyone have a .35 kernel file which is compatible with the newest Aurora ICS 4.1? The problem I have with the 3.0.8 kernel which came with the ROM, is that in the Gameboid emulator, the on-screen keys are overlapped making them impossible to press one at a time. Someone said that this problem was fixed when he went back to a .35 kernel. However, I cannot find a download of a .35 kernel compatible with the newest Aurora 4.1 because the kernel comes with the ROM and the dev didn't upload the kernel alone. Anyone got a link for one?
[Q] How make dualboot/2in-boot CM7.2 and CM9/CM9.1/CM10
Hi i have motorola Defy (not +) with CM7.2 (7-SKANKT-jordan) Kernel vercion 2.6.32.9-gb8431013 Build Number GWK74 Gigglebread i read something so i must have the same kernel like cm7.2 in cm9/cm10? were i can find that with that kernel?
Newer cm9 and cm10 is using "custom kernel", that's mean they can't dual boot. But older cm9 can be used with froyo kernel and can dual boot with cm7, but the performance can't be compared to the newer 2ndboot versions.
