so uhh yeah, after being on stock froyo for a bit and them coming back to cyanogenmod i couldnt help notice the way wayy better reception and all that on froyo. and so i asked a question before about what does that and you guys said drivers and whatnot which im assuming is the "radio" that you all talk about in roms. so is there by any chance some way of getting this better radio on cyanogenmod? cheers
Just flash the latest radio and you're all set. I believe the latest is 7.13.35.05.

That radio is taken from the rom with Froyo released for Vodafone devices.
You probably have already installed it when you have flashed the latest OTA with Froyo. I'm not sure, but I don't think that installing CyanogenMod overwrites the radio installed by the stock rom.

actually now that ive taken a look at my screenshot of that froyo rom ive got in my sig (the one im talking about that i was trying with the amazing wifi reception and all that) the radio is actually 7.05 and that other number in front of it is an older version too. so does that mean the older versions are better or what? i get better wifi reception and all that on an older radio? anyways im sure you see my point, so now im confused lol

7.05? Or is it 7.13.35.05? If you do lurk around more and read through the radio update threads, some people already mentioned they have better reception on older radio. I can't verify that but the latest radio do make my reception better. Or you can try flashing a few radio update and see which has the best reception.

alright that sounds good then. is there like a main list or something where they all are or do i have to search through all the threads in development to find them?
Alright. I did one of these for the Incredible, and now its time for one for the Thunderbolt.
I've noticed that there have been some spotaneous reboots since the leak surfaced. Well, I am of the opinion that this is due to a radio issue, and specifically, the LTE radio.
So, I am putting together some packages for folks to mix/match, or revert.
Standard disclaimer: If you break it, its your fault. QED.
First up, we have the 1.13.605.7 CDMA/LTE radio combo.
CDMA Radio version: 1.16.00.0402w_1
LTE radio version that came with 1.13.605.7.

Next up, we have the 1.13.605.7 CDMA and 1.12.605.6 LTE radio

Lastly (for now), we have the 1.12.605.6 CDMA/LTE radio combo.

im curious of both these answers too...I flashed the new radio when das bamf 1.5 came out on monday and I experienced reboots only when streaming a flash video using dolphin, 3 times so far.
folks shouldn't be flashing if they aren't paying attention to what they have/are going to.
1.12.606.6= release software. This is what you started with.
1.12.605.9= leaked software, but same radios as .6.
1.13.605.7= leaked software, latest, new CDMA and LTE radio. These are what people flashed in the RUU thread or Das BAMF.

Just so im clear, i flashed [RUU] 4-18-2011 | New Rom + Radio 1.16.00.402 FIXES!, so there is no need for me to flash anything else correct as far as radio goes?
I used this radio all day today and have experienced no problems what so ever. I live in a 3g only area, and have yet to test the 4g capabilities of my phone
So if your having reboot issues you should use the second link?

Just download the one you want, turn your phone off, then turn it on while holding the vol-down button, then run the RUU from your pc.

You are running Android so just go to Setting>scroll all the way down to About phone> Baseband version. The Base band version is actually your Protocol version and Radio version. I will use mine for example.

If would not have to reflash the same radio, that won't help anything.
You could change your radio to a different one, "upgrade" doesn't really mean anything, sometimes the 2.12.50 radio gives better reception than the 2.15.50 radio depending on location and ROM, so check your current version as above poster mentioned and flash a different one to see if it helps.

There is no "perfect" radio solution for everyone. Each person has a different experience with each radio.
If I had to make a recommendation to a T-Mo US user with a G2, it would be the stock OTA radio. That would be Vision_Radio_12.52. 60.25_26.08.04.30.

The radio I posted is the most up to date radio for T-mobile USA. The one that came with the 2.3 OTA. So yes, you will probably see better results with the updated radio.

Guys can anyone help me get the radio flashed on my Desire HD, the phone had a lot of problems and may have a hardware fault, but I want to flash the Radio, I had already flashed the ROM which fixed a lot, its on a as close to standard rom as possible its running 2.3.5 but the radio version is very very old and much older then another Desire HD I have that works perfectly.
I have done so many of the ways to do the flash of the Radio files but I have not got one of them to work, I also cant work out how to get Eng s-Off, I have S-Off already.
If i just download this file and put on sd in root nothing happens when I reboot into the hboot, I have also tried the fast flash and abt.
any advice

Ok so when I boot it and leave it it does flash up quickly wih green writing that says something like "wrong image"
I have a HTC Desire HD - and I downloaded the PD98IMG.zip for it, I have tried a few different once (ones off different sites that are the same thing).
With adb and all the other ones they don't work as Eng S-off is not on as they are windows based terminal ones and I cant get it off the onclick E-Off does not work (but it looks pretty old and probably does not work on 2.3.5.

Huh? I believe you don't need Eng S-Off to flash radios, just S-Off. And what does windows based terminal have to do with anything? And does fastboot work?
Just used this image to restore my radio back to stock . This has fixed my gps because I had accidentally flashed a Inspire 4G Radio on a Desire HD. This file is not the flashable bootloader zip it is to be flashed in bootloader with adb.

You do need ENG-Soff (Engineer S-OFF) this is because the radio partition is not flashable due to restrictions with the Hboot.
Ok I have tried the radio file from this post, I have tried about 3 others from other posts all with the same version of Radio as the one of this file as its the ones working right on my other htc desire hd's.
As far as I have read you need Eng S-Off to do this remote of the device (as I mentioned Windows Terminal Screen that connects to the phone) wihout Eng S-Off you dont have the permission to do it from your PC.
So the .zip file on boot up is not working and I cant seem to get Eng S-Off either (I have tried a few guides but no luck so far).

You don't need ENG S-OFF to flash a radio but just S-OFF. the engineering hboot allows you to run flash commands in terminal but the important stuff is to have security partition off.
