Can anyone tell me how to change the boot animation ? Nothin fancy just the droid original boot screen. Any kind of info will help thanks
Not so quick response
I spent about 45 minutes making a sweet custom boot animation thinking pushing the bootanimation.zip would be as simple as rooting the mytouch 32b (theunlockr.com/2010/04/26/how-to-root-the-htc-mytouch-3g/) and putting cyanogen 6 on it (Which I LOVE!), WRONG! All the instructions I found after realizing an adb push wouldn't work just took too much effort (so I'm kinda lazy). But, after a 6 pack worth of searching I found a GREAT solution thanks to a Youtube post by the user yeomond, which directed me to download this fast and simple bootanimation.zip installer! To be honest, this post has taken longer to write than the installation did. WIN!!! mediafire.com/?qzkwljjyuwz

I know that the thread is around somewhere but i can't seem to find it, but i really fancy putting that bootanimation of the android hitting the apple sign or maybe another boot animation but have no idea of how to go about replacing the original galaxy s animation with it. Any help would be grateful
I just did the 4.010 update and rebooted and so far (aside of netflix STILL not working) its pretty sweet. I was wondering If however anybody could rip the animation from the OEM recovery. I noticed it when I did a reboot how it had the android with the gears and thought it would make a far better boot animation... Any asist would be both welcome and appreciated.
aside form me not understanding your post at first. (i think i get it now) i think this belongs in themes and apps as that is where most of the boot animations are.
Love to see a shot of that bootanime.

you never see it ?
if you put the full 4.010.22 file as update and launch recovery you will get this nice animation
green lined android bot with gear moving inside him...
I wonder where are those animation.
like the one on the samsung galaxy triggering at the shutdown.
Ya, no I've never seen it.
If you find something on the web showing it, can you link me?
This is not a normal bootanimation. Seems the recovery does the work of actually animating the files.
Here are the images though.

I can probably make a bootanime out of that. Thanks for the link.
Okay here is my take on that recovery animation:

Hope it works for you.
I have been looking for a while so if there is a solved thread a link would be helpful vs scolding
I am trying to create a custom boot animation for my new G2 from scratch (themed for work) and I have been able to look at the stock animation files so I thought I imitated the files pretty good but now when I boot the phone the animation is just blank.
If I put the stock animation file back the boot animation stays blank. Im not upset about it as I like blank vs the stupid verizon one but really would like the get the custom boot animation working.
I am rooted and use root browser. I was able to change the one on my galaxy s4 with no problems just by replacing the files but this one has me stumped as it has even blocked the stock boot.
Thanks for any help in advance.
So I like having android up to date on this device but like some of the customization that razer was bringing to the table. After a full on fight with my spare parts razer phone I have THIS LINK that is all of the ticks and boops that i was able to find using the root explorer. This also contains the boot animation, and the stock wallpaper! The pixel experience boot animation seems not to be working with the stock razer animation is installed. Splash screen right into the os? If some one can confirm if that is working that would be awesome. When installing you will need to change the files permissions. Have a Great day!
Edit1: yep the boot animation is working great after getting some free space on my root partition!
Edit2: Made the DESC.txt a bit more compatible with Android 13 and made it run 60fps Link
