Hi,I was wondering if there any app that could support skype?
The original (skype 3.0) is not working anymore, I guess the servers are changed or something.
So maybe someone could recommend other program that supports skype?
Thanks.
It works
Hi, I just connect to skype, I'm using Skype 3.0.0.256
I just tried this version and I still can't connect. The internet connection is ok, it just connects to skype forever and then I get error:
"Unable to connect to skype servers" etc.
I think you're speaking about problem which was solved in this threads :

It´s solution which I have always used after updating a new firmware when I installed skype.
For me it´s functional but sometimes it requires nerves of steel(mostly it wants more attempts).

Can someone help me to get MSN messenger to work?
I did hear that it only works if you have a GPRS connection but I want it to work with WLAN.
Is there a way around this?
A Search on this forum didn’t reveal anything or I did something wrong to get it.
Cheers,

hi, have my msn working via WLAN without any problems - what error msg's are you getting??
Hi,
It takes a wile before I get an error message and it looks like messenger is hanging.
After about 2 minutes it says "logon to msn messenger service failed because the service is not responding. Please try again later".
But if I use IE then I can log in.
Cheers,
Drifter
That could be because MSN is being typically slow - i quite often have the same problem. However, since enabling wireless G it has become more stable.
If you can get IE over wireless then i think you have a software / hardware problem - just a MS one
This can also happen if you do not have "Connects to Internet" checked in your work network setting. Check this and other Work / Internet list boxes and have a play ... it took me a while with the same problem but sorted it eventually.
Thanks for the tips but everything seems to be in order accept for MSN messenger.
If I check my firewall I can see that my wizard does connect to the internet.
My firewall logs says that it’s trying to connect to services.mobile.msn.com.
Hopefully it isn't the test rom I'm using
Hi All,
Recently, I bought a QTek 9100 and I absolutely love it! However, there is one issue that I did not find a way around it yet. It is very well possible I am doing something wrong, and not something with the software, and I hope you can help.
When I connect to my computer at work using ActiveSync, I can access the internet from the QTek only with Pocket Internet Explorer. Other applications, such as MSN, Skype or other thirdparty software, does not seem to be able to connect.
What could I do to fix that?
Any help appreciated,
Cheers,
Arno
Hi Arno,
I have the Orange SPV M3000 and upgraded the ROM to the latest Dutch version from Orange (2.18.1.3 NLD). When I connect the thing via ActiveSync, after some moments it complains about not being able to get an IP address. It is a warning box with the title 'Pocket PC Networking'. However, I am able to surf from within IE; sounds like the same problem.
I would love to hear what the reason and fix for this behaviour could be, if someone encountered this before, thanks.
Might be the same issue indeed. However, I am not getting any IP error messages though. It connects fine, it runs IE fine, syncs fine. It is just that other applications do not seem to be using that connection.
Maybe I need to set something up in the Conn Mgr or something, but I could not find out what exactly...
Anybody having any trouble with connectivity? I'm using a TMo MDA with the 2.26 rom, and I am able to connect to everything just find. I can send/receive email. im getting that same exact problem for almost 2 weeks now =S
i have to go back to pocket msn >.<
Apparently the server is down for maintence.
Will be no connectivity for a little while longer.
but...
cannot access via pocket msn but can connect via agile messenger...??!!!
Yes, they have had to take down the windows live mobile servers to allow for upgrades to be made to it. There are apparantly new features being added which would cause problems with the older version of the software. Normal service should resume later this week, along with a new release of the software.
From the Microsoft Connect Newsgroup...
"Currently the Mobile 10.7 program will be down for 7 days while new beta bits are being pushed for everyone to install. So please wait patiently this week and then everyone will be able to install a new build!"

Hi all,
I was interested to know if it is possible to use Voip or Skype over a bluetooth connection.
I currently sync via bluetooth using my HTC Himalaya, which allows me to access the internet at my home.
I tried using Skype Mobile on my phone but it only seems to allow 3G or WiFi connections.
I don't want to use my phone as the headset, connecting through my PC's Skype, I want it to work standalone ie Be able to connect to the Skype Network/VOIP network using software on my phone, connecting to the activesync bluetooth connection.
Any ideas?
it's transparent to most programs which connection they use as long as it's fast enough
and my tests and tests i've sene indicate that bluetooth is not fast enough to do talk with skype
but you can chat but then so you can using gprs
Even BT 1.x should be able to provide enough bandwidth for Skype or VoIP applications as in the worst case you will need 64 kbps up- and downstream (using G.711 like codecs). The problem for VoIP / SIP is probably that it won't run over the ActiveSync connection... which is very limited anyway. There might not be a way to do what you want, but it would be interesting if someone could correct me.
Bluetooth Activesync Works
Well I just configured and managed to use Skype over Bluetooth Activesync....and it worked OK.
The sound was identical to that which I get on my SDIO 802.11G Wifi Card, so I am not complaining.
I was unable to "chat" with someone though, as in typing (I could type but they couldn't see it, possibly because I was logged in elsewhere), but I was able to use the Echo call function, and it worked.
So. It works. But more testing is needed.
It saves me having to carry around and purchase extra wifi equipment when I can do the same over Bluetooth...
Do many people know how to do this? Do you think I should make a post in the development and hacking or general forum?
works great

Hi,
I need to install either Fring or Nimbuzz on my HTC Touch Pro 2 so that I can receive VOIP calls. I installed fring, however it is unable to connect to WLAN. I turned off all the security on my router and it still couldn't connect, so I'm guessing that fring does not yet support this phone.
The touch pro 2 was not found in the list of Nimbuzz's supported phones either. Has anyone managed to get this phone to work with either Fring or Nimbuzz? If not does anyone know of a suitable alternative?
Nimbuzz
Hi Darrenultra.
I have Nimbuzz working fine. Haven't had a chance to test VoIP calls though.
I have Fring working and VoIP configured too on 3G as well as WiFi. No probs.
Fring is what I would really like to get working ....glad to see that it is possible.
Did you download Fring directly to your phone by visiting www.fring.com/cab? Or did you do it some other way? I'm wondering if I maybe there are more than one Windows Mobile versions.
Fring seemed to install fine for me. However it is unable to find either my Wifi connection, or that of my neighbours. Instead when I try and start Fring I get a screen which says:
'Please Select Connection
Search for WLAN...'
However no WLAN is ever found. Any suggestions as to where I'm going wrong will be most welcome.
...there is one other thing that I forgot to mention.
I'm a bit worried that even when I do get fring working it is going to encounter some problems. The Touch Pro 2 tends to go into standby mode after sitting around for a minute or so. Will it still be possible for me to receive incoming calls on fring when it is in standby?
Any ideas?
I guess you must have tried the standard route of un-installing Fring and then soft reset and then re-installing Fring?
I would say turn your wifi on, launch Pocket IE. Go to fring.com and download the cab file directly. Install it. It will (should) sense the WiFi connection and take you further.
Hope this helps.

I've got the same problem... I guess just have to wait for updated version of fring before wifi issue can be solved.
I removed Nimbuzz because I found it chewed through my battery - it was insane. I could get through 1.5 days on a charge, but with Nimbuzz, I'd be looking for a powerpoint by midday on day 1. Love the app but not at that cost!
go to nimbuzz web site.choose your phone az touch pro..it work fine on pro2.no screen size problem..bud i didn't use VOIP calls yet.
I installed fring v3.35.3.248, works well... give it a try... http://www.fring.com/versions/#Windows
