Cyberon Voice Commander is a terrible piece of dreck - it does almost nothing and half the time when I want to voice-dial a number, it can't find the contact, or finds the wrong contact, then simply hangs up on me.
I've been playing with Jeannie and Vlingo and they both work great when set as default app for things like long-pressing the Search button... but how the [email protected](&$ do I get them to default for BT headset activation?? No matter what I do, long-pressing the Noise Assassin button on my Jawbone only launches Cyberon.
"Voice recognizer" settings don't give me any option to set a default... seems to me it did under 2.3.2 and still ignored that setting... now the option is gone in 2.3.5.

The Take-Call/Answer button appears to haveseveral functions:
It switches to the phone app (Good)
It answers an incoming call (good as prevents having to use the slide)
It dials the last number in the Calls list display (bad)
I keep finding that I double-press the button by mistake and end up dialling someone without intending to do so.
Is there any registry hack that can eliminate this last function. I have tried using Mobile Magic to assign the key to "switch to phone app" but then I can't use it to answer an incoming call which is a bit of a pain.
Or do I need to find an alternative dialler?
personally I find that disabling the green button from answering calls is a good thing - it means that you don't accidentally press it when taking it out of your pocket for example! you could try AE Button Plus and set long press of the green button to "press green button" and short press to "launch program" -> "phone" that way if you accidentally double-pressed the green button it wouldn't call the person, but would still load the phone dialer and could still be used to answer calls, just holding buttn instead of pressing...
Closest solution I can think of...
Sounded promising - thank you. Unfortunately I can't get a long keypress to generate an "green button press". I have decativated the usual long-keypress action but still no joy.
I even tried implementing a "double keypress" for answer but it only works sporadically.
Slider for Calling?

after my touch hd didn't make an international phone call of several minutes today from my pocket, I didn't realize how right were your words.
So, I unbinded the Green Phone Button with AEB Plus and I reassign "Key 1 (Press)" to act as Green Phone Button. From now only pressing for a while the talk/send button will actually call the dialer.
However, the most gentle touch on a contact in the default dialer will make a call... which most of the times really annoys. What would be really cool and solve many problems is to use a slider for making the phone call (not only for answering). I searched conscientiously in the forum and I found no solution.
An alternative solution would be to use other contact manager, like Yota Contacts, for example. But, having a slider for making a call would be so cool
Is there a possibility to program the button, which is integrated in the headset?
If I push it, nothing happens. If I push it twice, the caller dials the number I last called in the callhistory.
It would be nice if the caller would popup if I push the button one time, and maybe, if I hold the button for 3 secs, my player (Conduits) would stop playing or something like that.
Pressing it ones is for answering and hanging up a call
jeah, but on my samsung omnia which i had before the TD2, i pressed the button once and the dialer opened up, i liked that in some way, it must be possible to make this on the TD2 too.
and it would be simply nice if i could stop the song i am playing with pressing the button for 3 seks or something like that.
I installed the voice dialler software. Now when I press it, I can say 'home' and it dials home etc. or use it to fire up software.

Anyone know how to change or disable the voice dialing preset on the MT4G? I've already remapped the genius button, but it still launches when I press the voice dial button on my Finiti headset. Ideally, I'd love to just remove the whole damn genius feature, but I'll settle for changing the voice dialer to Google.
Please post questions in Q&A section.
I'd like to do this too. Anyone have a clue how to make something else, like the default Google voice app or even Vlingo the bluetooth dialer?
Giving this a little bump, as I'm interested to find out how it can be done as well, particularly given the fact that a new, enhanced version Google Voice Actions/Search was released earlier today. Anyone have any success in making this work?
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling Google Voice Search? The first time I hit the call button on my BT headset, it came up with using either the Genius Button or GV Search. Maybe that can force the option to come back?
Just wondering if anyone has figured out how to do this. I am also trying to get the bluetooth headset to launch another voice dialer instead of Genius.
Is there a way to run Voice Search instead of Voice Dialer with my bluetooth so that I can have a larger set of voice commands?
When I plug in my bluetooth, it gives me the option to default it to either Voice Dialer or Genius Button. Of the two, I'd rather use Genius button because it has more commands. However, I'm having some problems with Genius Button on CM7 (force closes, but only when using bluetooth). Since Voice Search also has more commands, I was hoping there's a way to set that up for bluetooth instead of voice dialer.
Short answer: nope.
Slightly longer answer: bt audio with Google's app will require a rewrite.

I plugged my wife's wired headset into her MT4G, and when I did the long press for the genius/dialer I was asked to pick between the voice dialer or the Genius button and decide if I wanted one as the default... I defaulted to the voice dialer but it doesn't work very well (it just says "setting up" and doesn't activate)... I'd like to switch to the Genius button (which I KNOW works) but I can't find any settings to change my initial choice?
can someone help please?... Thank you

YAY!!!.. thanks a lot... now she can stop being pissed at me for messing with her phone again...
When I did it again, I see at the bottom where it says how to clear defaults, but I didn't read that part when I set it up in the first place..
Thanks again
