As stated few post before, all Android OS 2.2 with Sense (including chocolate froyo) all comes with non working camera. It's not a bug, it's source not available for Sense 2.2 ROM developers.
If it's of anyone's interest on using Sense, VR13 is now available for flashing.
It's still based on Android OS 2.1 (Eclair) though, not OS 2.2 (Froyo).
Ok thanks!!!!!!!! One think.. Can you send me the link to find villainrom 13 please???
I finded it!!!! I´m going to flash villainrom13 on my hero thanksssss
I need help.
Hello! Already i WAS flashed the VILLAINROM V13 based on ECLAIR but someone does not like to me. Anyone can to say to his criterion any stable and current ROM for HERO?THANKS!!!!!
PD: IF CAN POSSIBLE WITH & WITHOUT SENSE PLEASEEEE!!!!
You don't like the current VR13 that you had flashed?
May be you grew bored with Eclair (OS2.1).
You may wish to try flash Froyo (OS2.2) ROMs then, such as
Froyd1.73 by VillainRom, CM6.2 Speedmachine V2 by Elelinux, Elelinux's other Froyo ROMs, Erasmux's Floyo1.2, Radug's TastyFroyo, Cronos Froyo 1.8....
Froyo ROMs should be very stable and suitable for daily use.
If you are adventurous enough, you may try flash GingerBread (OS2.3) ROMs, such as Elelinux's 7RC2 Hero v1.4, CyanogenMod 7 Nightly or Cronos' GB1.9
Try Gingerbread ROMs if you like to try new things but these ROMs at the current stage all still have bugs here and there.
Remember, always Nandroid your current ROM (back up, in case you need to restore back).
Have fun

I love Sense, but as it's stuck on 2.1 (for everything to work), I've been trying various other ROMs.
I'd certainly recommend that you use ROM Manager to backup whatever ROM you're on so you can completely restore your previous (working) ROMs with apps etc.
I'd been using FroydVillain Villiainrom 1.7.2 for a while (very stable - 2.2), but started trying the CM7 ROMs (2.3.3) - the best I've come across is Elelinux-7.0.0-RC2-Hero-v1.5 (2011-03-17):

My 3G Xoom is my first android device. With help from all the great developers I have been able to root. I am currently on Launchpad 1.3 gemini which I love. I do want to get the update to 3.2 but now I am confused as to what to do.
I have read that Launchpad has teamed up with Tiamat. My question is there going to be some Kernal that will allow the 3g users to get 3.2? Tiamat is coming out with all these updates I feel that maybe I am behind. Do I need to just wait?

The newest Tiamat Roms do indeed support the 3G Xooms. Launchpad 1.3 is a kernel for the Xoom, not a custom Rom. It sounds like you are on the stock 3.1 Rom with the Launchpad kernel. Follow the steps I have provided, and follow what the quote below states if you want know a little more additional info.
Step 1: Back up all apps with their data via the Titanium Backup app. Reboot into recovery. Wipe data. Install Tiamat 1.1 Rom:
Titanium Backup on the market
Tiamat 1.1 (HC 3.1)
Step 2: Wipe data again. Install Tiamat 2.1 Hammerhead Rom:
Tiamat 2.1 (HC 3.2)
Step 3: Restore all apps with their data via Titanium Backup.
Step 4: (Optional): Install the overclocked GPU Tiamat kernel:
Tiamat "Tachi" OC GPU kernel (HC 3.2)
From there you should be ready to go with your new Tiamat Honeycomb 3.2 Rom!
And if you need any additional help, let me know, or you can post your question in the appropriate thread that you are having the problem with in the links I have provided above. They are the official Tiamat threads.

You could flash the Tiamat Rom 1.1 which is for 3.1 (but you will need to wipe (it's a rom) and then flash the manta ray which will get you the 3.2 update, and preserve your root. I love it with the "tachi" kernel. From there you could flash the Hammerhead rom or just hang out with the Manta Ray for a while...It is shark week, right?
EDIT: On edit, I see that Team Tiamat has labeled their Manta Ray rom obsolete, so I guess the progression should be directly fromTiamat Rom 1.1 (for HC3.1) to Hammerhead Rom 2.1. Just load these files onto your sdcard, get into recovery , wipe/factory reset, flash 1.1, reboot, get back to recovery, wipe/factory reset, flash 2.1, reboot and hopefully Win1!
Does that sound about right? Oh and the tachi kernel (non-oc gpu) is included with the 2.1 Hammerhead Rom, but you can flash the oc gpu version over the rom if you like.

Sounds right! And yeah, I was going to tell him to skip the Manta Ray Rom completely and go straight to Hammerhead, which is why I put optional in parenthesis, I was debating that.
I'll do some editing for him. Make it one nice post. Thanks, like always!
I bump into you a whole lot here on the Xoom topics. Lol.

Cool! Glad to be of service. Enjoy Team Tiamat!
I have recently came into the Vibrant community, coming from the MyTouch 4G community, and all I can say is that this phone is so much better, except the 4G portion.
For the past 3 days, I have been flashing over and over, different ROMs, kernels, etc. I just wanted to post the best setup that I believe is the fastest and most stable for this phone:
ROM - CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1
KERNEL - 2.6.35.14 EB-Streamline
GPS FIX - Yet Another GPS Fix (YAGF) Version 2
RECOVERY - ClockworkMod 5.0.2.7
BOOTLOADER - Gingerbread Bootloader
If you have a better setup that you have been using, that you believe is faster and more stable, please let me know. Thanks.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is the last nightly that the Cyanogen Team put out before retiring the Vibrant, nightly 182. Have any opinions on it before I flash it?
ROM- ICS PASSION
Kernel - Streamline - eugene373's
Bootloader: GB
Thats the best i've had.
Not only does it give the best GPS and battery life, its also the newest firmware, which I love the new UI.
I get around a day of battery life on light - medium-wise moderate usage, and GPS works all day long for me, there are infact some issues, it is BETA Like Mute/unmute issue, which I think is the ONLY major issue left.

Is this an actual ICS 4.0.3 ROM, or is it just a modified Gingerbread ROM to look like it? Because I've looked at many other threads for ICS development, and there are very few that operate at a level this one claims. I understand that in the settings it says 4.0.3, but that's easy to spoof. Has anyone actually verified this as an actual 4.0.3 ROM? If so, amazing, I will flash it soon. Thanks

Having ran this and onecosmics i9000 port myself I can say that yes it is indeed ICS.
Just to let you know passion has the mute/unmute bug. Some people can live with it....I find it too annoying tbh. Everything else is really smooth and fast though.

The ROM is amazing, but with the current grow of ICS Port to SGS is almost inevitable to switch the one from another.
Besides, it's been a long time since they released a ROM and Darky is not that involved as he used to be.
One of the best ROMs though.

I was just reading the guide on installing CM7.2, as my current rom (Aurora ICS), although good, is pretty unstable and buggy on my handset.
I noticed the guide specifically mentions I need to downgrade to official Froyo before trying to install CM7.2.
I have obviously already got CWM on there, so I just want to clarify if I still need to downgrade to an official Froyo rom, or can I just install CM7.2 over the top of my Aurora ICS?
Thanks.
