[Q] Last Row Touchscreen Not Working - G2 and Desire Z General

Hello everyone..
I got just get prob on my fone.My last row of touch screen (home/menu/back/search) is not working.
I hadn't dropped the phone or gotten it a wet or anything, they just stopped. Nver rooted my fone also.
Anyone know how to fix it?

i really didn't think of any other solution, but here it is:
becasue you are not rooted, you can only wipe all the phone's data, and restore it to factory settings... that means all apps, contacts, messages, everything will be gone and restored back to the "out-of-the-box" shape..... good luck

i meant factory reset yes...
rooting the phone will have you better control over it.... so you could flash another kernel and it may work... however, you could try factory reset, because rooting it will result in the same thing...

the prob is,i still have to use back button when want to rooting.
So,i cant continue the step to rooting

I'd not take the chances of rooting if you are not sure it will fix it.
Do you still have warranty? I'd just take it back...

Have you tried simply turning your phone off, and then back on?

Seriously, that has fixed a ton of my phone's hiccups. Don't underestimate the usefulness of a power cycle

desire hd camara screen goes black

Hey,
When I start up my camera on the Desire it just brings up a black screen, no image nothing, its unresponsive to anything but hitting the home button a couple of times to get back to the main screen.
Anybody got any ideas to get round this
Had this once after a recovery restore. try re-flash the ROM over the top without wiping any data.

NO!!! NO NO NO NO NO NO!!
Just to clarify, I think sgroimax is being sarcastic. I hope so anyway.
ONLY if flashing without wipe fails to fix should you resort to wipe.

[Q] My touch 4g crashes during recover with my recovery root, options for a bricked ph

I just recently rooting my mytouch 4g and everything was working great, i had made a backup of my files using my recovery root before i was rooted. I re installed the app to my phone and tried recovery its was all working great but, it was installing my apps until it hit a game where the phone crashed and i was unable to do anything but take out the battery. I tried restarting and i got 3 androids skating. I got into hboot and tried recovery mode, and factory reset, neither worked. I got the pd15img.zip and tried to load it. i got fail-pu. I realize this was said in the general Q&A and it was said that my phone is truly bricked. What are my options to recovery my phone or fix it in any shape or form? I saw somewhere there was a jtag fix but i'm not sure if i send them my phone or if they send me a kit or something to fix it myself and, i want a trust worthy fix and not send it to someone who will screw it up(even more...). I've gone through two of these phones and really beginning to hate it.
You have truly bad luck. Your eMMC is toast. There is no true fix, short of replacing the board.

Hey there.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this problem with your phone. Either your hardware is damaged or your software. My best guess is your software, seeing as your phone's touch screen stopped working right after you conducted a hard reset. Perhaps you can get your touch screen working again by flashing your original firmware through KDZ.
If you've got anymore problems and/or questions, feel free to ask!

That's gonna be a really big problem, I think. Can you boot into CWM and do a full factory reset along with wiping your cache and dalvik cache?

You said you conducted a hard reset on your phone which is what initially possibly caused your touch screen to stop working. Try to perform the exact same steps and conduct a hard reset again.

Using avast! Hard Reset Protection

If I somehow brick my custom ROM and need to back up to a previous state, will this security app cause problems and not allow me to fix my phone?
Just wondering! Thanks.

I always used that, and never had a problem flashing roms (didnt turn it off before flashing)
i think it only stops say if you lost your phone, and somebody found it, and they did the hard reset option in storage (factory reset)
doesnt think it stops it at all at the custom recovery/ODIN level

Ah, that makes me feel a lot better. Thanks man.
But does that mean they could instead flash a backup or something onto the phone to bypass that "hard" reset?

yes, if a computer geek finds it you're done
but with sprint you can have them blacklist the EMEI
on GSM they could still use your phone

Find your firmware. If yours is G935A model, look for the PG1 fw.
Flash with Odin.
Literally only a few clicks away.
This will wipe everything so I'd suggest trying to see if you can save anything worth saving on your phone to a computer.

You'll need to either flash the stock firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/how-to/stock-s7-edge-attg935aatt2apg1-firmware-t3431187
Or the "U-model" firmware:

Best is if you go back to AT&T and let them know about problem. They may replace your phone.

Don't listing to this guy. Your phone is rooted so your warranty is void and they won't do anything. Try a data factory reset in recovery first and wipe cache. It probly won't work but if it does it beats reflashing. Most likely won't work though. Your pretty much going to have to reflash it with Odin
I did this to mine as well deleting Samsung apps.
