Please help me unlock!

Hi to everyone
I have an xda (i believe its a wallaby) modelpw10a1 ram64mb. I want to unlock the unit, but have no idea where to begin.... i did follow peters advice for unlocking an xda 2 via the cradle/activesync/disable usb port method but nothing happens (apparently windows should recognise new devise)
is there a program i can run to unlock the xda1?
Another thing - i have just moved abroad to Thailand, the local gsm network here is very good so it shouldnt make any difference once it is (hopefully) unlocked?

Stefan, thanks for the link. The problem now is that when i click on the link, i get a 'authenticode' warning pop-up that stops me from downloading it.... licsence could not be found etc etc.
Any clues?

Frustration
I managed to get the unlocking file, and copied over to my xda... but the first thing it says when i open it is 'error getting the unlock code'
Is there another file i can use? Am i using the wrong one?

Massive frustration!
I cant believe how hard this is. Have been on it all day! Everyone else on this forum seems to be unlocking easily, am i doing something silly here?
Thanks for the latest link Rudegar, but im having the same problem - it wont open. On clicking the link, Im asked the usual ''run file from current location or save to disk'' either one gives me the following error message;
''the publisher cannot be determined due to the problems below.....''
''authenticode signiture not found''
''access to the specified device path file denied''
So in short, i cant open it.
My friend sent me the XDAunlock zip file, i transfered to my XDA but it came up with
''error unlocking sim''
So thats obviously the wrong file for my XDA...
I read that the XDAunlock only works if it has the wireless feature? How do i find out if i have wireless or not?
Sorry for sounding so clueless here, but really i am not to sharp with this sort of thing. Ive allways used my XDA happily till i moved abroad, now im buggered if i cant unlock it!

i think the link i just gave to the allinOneUnlock thingy requires to be run from the pc while the xda is connected to activesync

No, its not a question of the cradle being connected or not im afraid, i tried that allreeady with both the cradle connected and also disconnected. It just wont have it, im totaly lost!

by cradle do you mean that you have tried with
the xda connected to activesync as in being connected after the sync is finished ?
or have you tried the xda connected but activesync not connected ?
have you tried another sim card to make sure it's still sim locked ?

Diagnostic mode

Does anybody know how to place a Blackstone in diagnostic mode?
I am currently running the RTM version of Windows 7 x64, which may be a stumbling block.
I have tried the usual codes, and installed DMRouter, which works but doesn't appear to do anything?
My ActiveSync/WMDC connection works perfectly but I cannot put the phone into diagnostic mode and have it recognised by the PC.
I have searched everywhere but I cannot find any information nor a guide.
Can somebody please help?

According to the Blackstone service manual, you need a diagnostic sd card...not really sure what that means.
Google "Blackstone service manual" and you should find it.
Is there something in particular you're trying to do?

hello everyone, im haveing trubles with connecting my phone to my pc .... i intalled wp7 and activated it with registry code, then i instaled chevronwp7.cer on my phone (by sending it on my email, like manual says) ... problem is that im getting error messages when i run Chevronwp7 on my pc. it says that there is no zune running and there is no phone connected. but phone is plugged and zune is running (but it says that there is no device connected too) ... sooo ... does anyone have an idea about this ? thx

check your "device manager" (on windows) and look if there are some "unknown device" or some device in error state (i.e.: with an exclamation point)...
on what operating system are you running now? (please specify service pack level if there's one too..)

What instructions tell you to do this?
Activation is the very very last thing you should do. Just read the instructions carefully and follow the correct order and it should work fine.

anyway ... before activation i had same problem ... i thought that device will show after activating its os ... but its all the same ...

what a stupid queston of me ! ... what do to with "unknown device" ... instal driver ofc .. but then what to do ... i dont think i can handle all those "lock/unlock zune " posts... i dont know how to fix my certificats and my chevron .... it has problems :/

problably, the "unknown device" is your WP7 phone.
try this:
right click on it, then select "properties" and go to the "driver" tab.
then "update driver".
otherwise, go to te "details" tab (i'm not english, your translation may differs), i mean the last tab after "driver".
in the drop down menu select "Hardware ID", copy&paste the string appeared in "values"

see if you have relocking unlock problems, there is a simple and effective way of fixing it
firstly run in admin mode and then.....
"If at first you dont succeed try try try try again"
thats it really, i got the dreded oh-oh message so i just kept running it and eventually it worked.
So obviously get the cert on your phone and do the reg patch thingy to make it a HD7 get it connected to zune then keep trying the unlock took

does chevron start at all, and then gives you the message? or does it give it straight away? and do you have thedeveloper tools installed? try removing your device and then checking device manager.... then connect your device and search for changes.... see if that unknown device really IS your phone....

So, my question is, can i find the code directly from the hd2??

Do you mean you deleted the file or note or what ever?
Try look in in the trash bin or use a program like recova

to install apps from marketplace asks phones login and then activation code!!!

Yesterday i installed wp7,5 on my htc hd2 and after registry entries and language changes zune worked at my PC..but when i connect the phone and trying to instal an app it asks to login from the phone to..
So when i try to do that it wants verification code and i can't proceed..
Any suggestions?

yes you need Live activation code to login to Live srvices...
call your local Microsoft support and ask Live activation code for HTC HD7...
or use online support chat (look tutorial in my signature)
