My lock screen is blank no matter what lock screen style I use. No shortcuts no nothing, just he date and time at the top and the lock ring...How do I get it back?

try a reflash?
do you have any themes installed?
no themes, could I do a factory reset instead or does it have to be a reflash?

try a factory reset through recovery.

Hi,
My Atom got hung after I installed a software. After soft reset and removing the software, I found that the 'lock device' option on Today screen is lost. It also disappeared on the Today's setting screen.
Is there any way to restore the 'lock device' option. I really don't want to perform a hard reset in order to restore it.

Just go to start-setting-today-items tab-check the device lock box-ok.

The 'device lock' option in 'start-setting-today-items' is disappeared. That's the probem.
Make a full backup than hard reset your device.

I've just opened Galaxy S4 box and turned device on. After normal loading (splash logo) black screen appears. None of buttons works. Screen shows just clock, date, battery status and signal strength (on status bar). i'm very unhappy. Is there any way to fix it by myself? Go back to the stock is not possible because it is abroad.

U can try resetting the device and see if that works
power off the phone unplug
Press -> power - home-volume up all together till u get stock recovery there u factory reset & wipe cache and reboot and see the result

I did exactly as you said. I entered stock recovery, then I chose wipe data/factory reset. but when I chose wipe cache android icon appeared and phone rebooted. Nothing changed. Everything is same.

Download a latest stock firmware from the my signature for your variant and flash it using ODIN and see whats the result
What you seam to have is sview active so either you have a magnet near your phone or your magnetic sensor is faulty.

I flashed stock firmware, and also custom, several times.... but no result. I found that if I toush back side of phone it unblocks screen. That's the place where "smart cover" magnet should be. I bought Smart Cover, but it doesn't work properly. I feed up of that. Please tell me how can I turn the smart cover interface off? May be I should delete some files in \system directory? Thanx for your help!
P.S. Is it possible to flash Google Edition i9505 4.3 ROM to i9500?

sensor works perfectly in recovery (custom), and I turned of S-View. Actualy Everything is pretty fine when you pressing and holding your singer near camera. But as you release for finger screen turns black and shows clock on upper side. Other S4 doing it when you close th smart cover. I tried it with smart cover, but screen flashes or doing oposite (turns screen on when cover is closed). I want to cut that system which controls smart cover.
Any News here I could need some Help.
Hi, I've found out that if i squeeze with two fingers on the right-top of the screen the normal screen reapears and you can navigate to disable s-view cover.
Hope it helps!
Edit: To adjust the magnetic cover, unscrew the L1 screw from the back cover(it is named L1 on the right-top of the battery).
hello i cant use the fingerprint mode on lock screen... if i choose it, it will say its active and then when i lock phone, and turn screen on it will be swipe not fingerprint secure
P.S : it happened to me since i flashed poland lollipop ROM

Did you change the time for secured lock screen? Go to Setting>Lock screen and click on "Secured Lock Time." Change the setting to Instantly lock after screen off.

Go into recovery mode and then perform "Clean Cache Partition"
i didnt mention a thing : when i wipe data+cache+dalvik.... the fingerprints stay even without samsung or google login
Every time i start up the phone i get a short boot animation , then have to input a pin number and after that the phone continues to boot.
I would like to remove this option, but cannot find anything on the phone to reset this, a search on the net also did not help.
If anyone knows how to remove this, thanks !

when u setting up fingerprint and and pin or other security setting it will ask for encryption then click on no thanks or choose one
So i have to factory reset to get rid of the pin while starting the device ?

You just have to remove your Pin in settings, and when you apply a Pin/lock again, you choose 'No' when the interface asks you again for the Startup Pin Hope this helps
alright i successfully rooted but whenever i restart my phone it shows up both the bootloader screen and the enter pin screen. How do i remove those screens to just go straight to my lock screen?

The 'your phone can't be checked for corruption' message can be removed, but you risk black-screening your phone and I still fon' know how people recovered from this. Don't try, I tell you.
And the PIN i dunno, but I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with encryption. Try to format data from TWRP (NOT just wipe, use the button that says Format data, that is right beside the Advanced Wipe one), but you'll lose your internal storage too. Or just wait for someone that knows more than me to respond on this matter. I'm sure the PIN screen will disappear after you do that, but maybe there's an easier way.
Nope...you need to wipe your data to get rid of the pin screen...

Wipe or format? Usually wipe doesn't do anything to encryption
I just factory reset m,ine through recovery after unlock... That worked...
