Can't install clockwork recovery - Blade General

Hello!
I'm trying to install clockwork recovery with the fastboot method.
But when i use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319257
The phone just freeze at the ZTE (white background) logo.
And the windows command prompt are telling me: < waiting for device >
I need to remove the battery to start it again.
Have also tried;
z4root + Rom Manager
OneClickRecovery (telling me exploit cannot be used trying su and launch the file explorer)
It's a Gen 2 phone with Android 2.3+
If nothing works cant i use Linux?
Big thanx! for everything.

You need to install drivers for the phone if you use Windows. Link is in the thread.
It'll work on Linux or Mac without any drivers, but you might need to be root if you don't set it up right.

Yes, i have done that. I did try the drivers in the thread and those i did get with the phone (autorun). And Windows tells me all drivers work correct.
Thnx for the answer.

When you're in the bootloader, check device manager if it shows Android with a yellow exclamation.

Yes, when i do the
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
and the phone shutsdown and showing ZTE (white background) then device manager starts showing "android" with a yellow "!" behind it.
But it ain't there until i do that? And Win 7 shows a "can't find drive" i did try point it to the ZTE 3G instalation folder with the amd64 drives. But nothing happens.
Now i have tryed on my girlfriends laptop also. It also got the Windows 7 64bit. But it does not work there either. Same problem.
How long should it take until "Android" logo shows on the phone?
Thanx for all the help!

UPDATE
UPDATE!
I think i solved it.
Used: SuperOneClick
And when it started to root and downloaded all drivers i did the original ADB:
[GUIDE] How to root your ZTE Android device
And it started to install Clockwork Recovery. SuperOneClick shutdown (error) and the phone booted. And now i can boot into Clockwork Recovery with VOL-.
But Rom Manager does not find it and can't install it.
So i'm going for the traditional boot with VOL- and hit the ROM from there.
Big thanx for the help!

Having problem rooting nexus s

I'm following the [GUIDE] Step by Step ROOT Nexus S via ClockworkMod Recovery image (i9023 and i9020A) but I get stuck after step 13, I don't see any "android bootloader interface" so I can't select it.
Also the icon for "Android 1.0" on my device manager window has a yellow/black exclamation mark. Though I should mention that.
What do I do now?
Try This
I believe the yellow exclamation mark is to alert you that the driver is not working/installed properly. After clicking "Let me pick...", do you see a button marked "Have Disk..."? If so, click that, click browse and go to where you downloaded the google usb drivers and select "android_winusb.inf".
Hope that helps.
i've had the same issue when rooting my ns, what you need is "pdanet for android"
sorry im a newb, cant give you the url..
just google ,the first one is it. installing this fixes the driver problem, though this software is for something else.

Thank you! This work, but now I'm stuck on "Part 4: Root" step 6. Every time I type in adb push su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip /sdcard/su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip it says device not found.
Thanks for all the help so far.
Allright I got it to work somehow. I got it stuck after when I would go to recovery and I'd see the android + exclamation mark. Turns out you lose the clockwork mod when you reboot?
How do I keep it clockwork mod? I tried the cmd commands, but it returns
device not found
for example if I type adb shell, it returns device not found.
I attempted to root my friends Nexus S this weekend and I had no idea what i was setting myself up for! This is crazy how much work has to be done to root this damn phone lol. I have an epic and its literally a few seconds and you are done.
I got stuck after it asked me to download a special java package and i did but it still didnt recognize it.

if you are on stock , then yes you will lose the recovery.
follow the instructions i posted here.

keep in mind you have to rename the update-recovery.sh cause on rebooting this file will cause the stock recovery to be flashed back.

it is nopt as hard as it looks like. i believe this guide is quite useless and complicates stuff. an example is that it says after flashing recovery. you should use adb to push ur su file to the sdcard. why complicate stuff when u could just from recovery , mount the sdcard and drag the file there with ur mouse!

[Q] D802 Bricked, computer won't recognize it

Hi,
I recently updated to the official 4.4.2 kitkat update.I then proceeded to root the phone, and then stupidly, installed CWM. I rebooted, and was greeted with an endless LG Splash screen. Now, I tried a HEAP of ways to restore to stock, all of them returning the same problem, my computer won't pick up my phone. In download mode, nothing happens, nothing in device manager, and same when I'm stuck on the LG splash screen. When I go into CWM, it then recogizes my phone, but the methods of restoring to stock won't work with CWM running in the background. CWM also won't let me mount the usb...
The methods return the same error: Phone not detected, please plug the USB cable and retry.
Ubuntu won't recognize the phone in all three modes, and another computer does the same thing. (Both Windows 8)
Methods of stock restoration tried:
-KDZ
-LGMobile support tool
-Ubuntu (This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142)
Can anyone help?

Was your phone able to connect to the PC afterwards? I have a D800 that I am unable to get any PC to recognize. I need to restore it to stock but no matter what I do it does not show up in device manager (and I have a working rom on it).

Yes, it does work now. I was able to restore to stock by adb pushing phillz recovery, and then flashing that, then adb pushing the stock ROM. Everything works as it should, now.

Does it recognize your phone when it's in the custom recovery? That was the only way I could do it on my phone.
Good luck!
I tried ADB devices nothing came out.
I have the same problem as listed in this thread. Tried everything to SHort circuit the chip. Basically everything.
I think the last thing i haven't try is dump it into the bin.

For starters this is the wrong Forum Thead to post in, it should be in the Q&A Forum.
Second you didn't use search as if you got here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541784 it will tell you with clear instructions on how to root the TegraTab.
Please insure that your threads are in the right place. I mean no disrespect but XDA have rules for a reason.
Ahh my bad, I'll try and be more careful. Now, I have read that link there already and it doesn't work. Also now my situation has worsen in that it got updated to 4.4.2.......I still tried all other methods, Vroot, towelroot, supertool etc . Tried to do the manual fastboot also doesn't work, impact or see no device so stuck over there. Has anyone found a way to root?
If Impactor does not find your device fastboot mode, try another USB port. If that doesn't work, try another computer if possible.
Also, make sure that you are running Impactor as administrator by right-clicking the application and pressing "Run as administrator".
Edit: this is a different device
I did try other computers and still no avail, even with admin access. Also HP slate 7 extreme is basically a Tegra note 7 not different device. Just few minor changes. If only the fastboot work, i probably be rooted by now. Is there a way to back 4.2.2? like put the recovery 4.2.2 in sd and recover from the loader? would it brick my device? Also i found out about towelroot modstring, is there a specific modstring for hp 7 extreme? would like to try it.
thank you

In this case unlock bootloader
Flash TWRP and check if it works, if so flash supersu
Hey shaky, thank you for replying. he boot loader is still lock. When device off , I press power n vol up to get into this menu which has fastboot protocol, selected it but nothing happens, then check for driver in impactor, no device detected. So can't use Tom's supertool to unlock bootloader. Also did the command prompt, say fastboot not recognize internal or external etc....
There also a recovery kernel, which leads to a recovery menu that can open zip files, think I can do just flash twrp ?
Thanks

Install fastboot drivers then go to your boot loader menu and type
Fastboot flash recovery twrplocation.IMG, this will flash twrp then boot into twrp (recoverykernel) install SuperSU
Thanks for replying. I did all that was suggested and nothing has changed. Problem is that impactor won't detect my device and won't install driver.
Took these pics to show what i'm seeing (left to right)
1) First pic is when tab is off, I power and vol up to get that menu,
2) Second pic impactor can't detect anything.
3) Third pic is if i select Recovery Kernel, a No command show, did power and Vol up to get this recovery menu
What does the Device Manager show? For instance, when the tablet is in the recovery menu, can you see an unidentified device?
EDIT: What operating system are you running? Are you an administrator? Are you running Impactor as administrator?
In recovery mode, nothing shows up in device manager
In normal tab mode, it show android phone with subset android composite adb interface. Also there a ? MTP
anyone?
Update! : I exchange my tab, now its 4.2.2 and just rooted it with vroot. Voila surprise that towelroot and impactor still not working....
now that its rooted, is there a way to install cmw/twrp? tried the supertool but no luck with impactor so can't fastboot command.
can i just put cmw or twrp in sd and flash it from the android revocery menu?
thanks
Bump....could use some expertise help here
Thank you
From the sound of it you are rooted but not unlocked. So, flashing Roms and things will not work until you do that.
However if I am wrong and you have unlocked the boot loader, go right ahead and flash some ROMs.
I found off another thread that our HP S7E running kitkat can be rooted with towelroot v1. It's a one-click root method. Just download the apk, install and run it, and the tablet will be rooted! Just take note to install supersu from the play store

can any one create a .zip which can be flashed to unlock the bootloader from cyanogen recovery and then root it.
your help will be highly appreciated
I am also facing same problems. Phone is not detecting from PC in fastboot mode.
Hello, the bootloader needs to be unlocked in order to flash super user. The best and easiest way of unlocking the bootloader is using fastboot and a computer. Link mentioned in the previous post.

Can't root without recovery, can't install recovery without root

I've been going through quite a lot of headache just trying to root this old LG G2 (D801) of mine, and would really appreciate some help. First, I tried to go through the normal steps of ioroot. After having to perform some unknown button combination to access the stock recovery (which I could only do with random, continuous button mashing), I am greeted with an error about adb being outdated whenever I try to sideload the "datroot.zip" file. I eventually realized that, somehow, after trying to (and failing to) sideload adb is temporarily changed from 1.0.32 (as required) to 1.0.31, as I can see when I simply enter "adb" in the command prompt before and after attempting to sideload. Some Googling later eventually reveals that renaming adb.exe to something else (in this case I changed it to androiddb) fixes the problem, as it indeed does for that. I then, however, get it to sideload to what seems to be between 50-60% before it fails and the phone spits out the following:
"E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted"
On the command prompt's side, it says this at the same time:
"loading: 'datroot.zip' adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
Total xfew: 1.22x"
After every attempt of Googling around for this, everyone seems to say that I need to use TWRP or CWM instead of the broken stock recovery, and from there just install the file as I've done before on different devices. The problem here is that, to my understanding, I actually need root in order to install a custom recovery, is that not the case? If so, how can I root in this situation if I can't install a recovery, which in turn requires me to root beforehand? If I could get any sort of guidance and hopefully regained sleep, I'd be greatly appreciative, as I'm sure you guys know far more about this kind of stuff than I do. Thank you.
try LG one click root .
Install latest adb drivers, enable USB debugging . connect USB to computer ,put the device on mtp interface. now click on the start button on LG one click root . If the tool stuck at 90% on computer (0% on firmware update screen on mobile) and if this happen couple of times just restart the phone by long pressing the power button while it's connected to the computer . It should then show 100% . After reboot look for supersu in device menu . It should get installed on your phone. If u cant then try the same procedure again. Use root checker to confirm .
And AUTOREC to install TWRP
