Turns out that my sim card will read in sense roms and work with voicemail but not in any AOSP like CM7 and/or Creamed Glacier.. Does any one know why or how to fix?
I really miss running cm7
Please and thank you
Disregard the post, turns out it was a problem with the network provider and/ or sim tool apks

Hi there, I am using a Bell Desire Z on Fido.
The 3G disconnects when GPS activates ... and other times too.
Most often when I use google Maps. But after restarting mobile network, it would keep working for a time.
I though that there might be a bug where the 3G needed to be restarted everytime it encountered a new cell tower but now I am not so sure.
Any ideas what might be causing this problem?

Hmm... I have a G2 and never experience that problem. Well if your not rooted u should factory reset and see if that works... If you are prem-rooted and s-off u should flash a different rom that might work lol... sorry if am not to helpful

Hi yeah I am not rooted and it has been happening since I got my phone.
Could it be the APN settings? But it is not like I can't connect but more like I get kicked off.

Hmm... have you tried factory reseting the phone. Most of the times that fixes the issues on the phone. If that does not work try calling your customer care and tell them what's going on. They will reset your signal and if the issue persist you should get your phone replaced.

Somehow I deleted all APN settings but the APN name mcc and mnc and now it is stable.
Weird because I had just copied the APN settings from my milestone which worked fine.
I had tried that before but it was still unstable but I think I had left the user name and password in.
Thanks for the replies though.

I've got data issues as well, I installed the Desire OS on my HD2 on the USA t-mobile network. I suspect the Desire ROM is from the UK, it has no glitches except with connecting to my US Data network. I've Looked and I can't seem to find a US Desire OS nearly as stable as the one I currently have + with working data. Anyone have any ideas?
Nvm, I got it. =)
I just flashed the 2.19.531.1 RUU radio and then the DARKSIDE Runny v1.5.1 rom and now my phone wont connect to the network and the "mobile networks" option in the pull down menu id grayed out. PLease help.
EDIT: I even unrooted my mt4g and this is still happening. Could it be my phone or sim card?

Okay just for clarity, is it your data (apn) that is not working, or your whole Tmobile network?
Anyways, I'll assume it's Tmobile or whatever provider is the problem.
First put your Sim in another phone and see if that works. If it does then it's your phone.
Or you can try another Sim and use it with your phone and see if it reads.
This happened to me before where suddenly it doesn't detect any networks. Call your provider and have your phone replaced. Remember to bring it back to stock first. All mt4g should have factory insurance for a year. meaning until this November or later. You can call Tmobile or whatever and have them process the exchange.

I unrooted and put it back to stock and the problem went away but i couldn't even make a call. Idk what happened but I appreciate your advice. I would've had to do that if it didn't start working again.

I'm using Hyper droid with Dorimanx kernel. The kernel says it supports wifi calling, but how do I make it work? I found an app, but it just hangs at "enabling". T mobile coverage at my house is iffy, so it would be nice to have the wifi calls working. Thanks for any help!

I think I got it figured out, just need a new SIM card now.
I followed the directions for "other ROMs" on tytung's wifi calling thread EXCEPT I didn't flash the kernel first because dorimanx's kernel has wifi calling support built in. Now I have the working, it just doesn't like my SIM card.

OK, got a new SIM card, still not working. Does anybody have this working on an HD2? Can anybody help me out here?
OK, used the universal zip from tytung's thread and got it to make one phone call. Tried to make another and the dialer app froze the phone and I had to pull the battery. Rebooted, tried a text which went through, but the dialer app froze and I had to fc it. Anything I am missing here?
Try flashing tutung's kernel
I use the latest NexusHD2 ROM and sometimes my phone connects to 3G and uses up my money for mobile internet from my provider even though I have it disabled, because I only use Wi-fi. It also does this when I install ROM through CWM and boot it up. My temporary solution was to install app to block mobile data to certain applications, but I'd like some better solution if there is.
Forgot to mention, but apps that have autoupdate feature in them do this too when I have wifi off.
Have you tried fixing permissions?

OK I'll try that and report back :good:
Sorry for doublepost, but I wanted to say so far so good altough whenever I flash new ROM it always has them enabled by default, It would be good if I could turn them off before that so I don't have to take out my SIM card everytime :/
Don't know where it is but if you remove the apn file from the rom before installing that should do it.
Google is your friend
I do now.. /system/etc/apns-conf.xml
