Thanked the oguzhan mobile first.
I am come from China.
There are many Huawei U8800(ideos x5) users,Many of us test this ROM.
But this ROM seems that It does not work.
You can use recovery take it in the phone,But either how long it will stop working, then reboot.
Do you have?
Don't know what you are trying to say or ask?
Edit: you need to have cwm 5.0.2.7 from geno, to get it work and of course .35 kernel.

Hello!
I am a young man from China, one of Huawei U8800(Ideos X5) users. I think there are a lot of people using the phone around the world. I have the confidence because U8800 has such a high Performance-price ratio. Many of us are using ROM by CM7, or other modified ROM, including MIUI by Stockwell or Mengluole (China) which is also based on CM7.
Now CM is collecting data from the phone using their ROM. CM will make ROMs (CM9) based on Android4.0,ICS for the phones used by the majority. Our U8800 now ranks about 90th (Here is the link: http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/). We need to work together to let CM know our U8800 and pay attention to it.
How to support U8800? you just need simply flash the CM7 rom by Genokolar, which contains the cmstats.apk(help CM7 team know the user of one device),after you flash the rom ,it will inform you that it is going to get the anonymous device data, just do as it says.
Every U8800 user, let's fight together!and please inform the user you know who owns u8800,vote for our CM9!Now u8800 only have 700+ votes.
Yeah, im going to flash it when i get my phone.
I SUPPORT YOU!U8800 need CM9!
i'm a haiwei u8800 user in china.i haven flashed the CM7 rom by Genokolar,i haven send my data. but many user who flash the rom for u8800 haven send their data to haiwei vision. because the rom they flashed always be changed the device version from u8800 to vision for the fluent game experience!!
however, the vision haven't begin to sell, so the data about the vision are from U8800 user! !
please,we need your help,our u8800 cm9 waiting for you,action!
At first, my phone went almost brick. Booted only without battery, in charger. So then I was able to change back to the original rom. After that, every custom rom I try, shows at notification "no connection" and there is a question mark on the battery. Whats wrong with this phone?
edit: Oxygen is working. Cm7 and Miui are not. They wont even ask pin code, which I think is the cause...
.32 or. 35 kernel? In otherwords have you updated to official gingerbread?
Sent from my u8800 using my toes
Btw, same thing happened to me. Also thought that i had bricked my phone, but got it unbricked using 2.3.5 official with cord plugged.
Sent from my u8800 in summer of 69
It says 2.6.32.9. So I should update 2.3 and then flash custom rom?
Other choise is that you could install .32 version of cm7 at the moment it is most stable cm7.
Sent from my u8800 without hands
Look for 111128-32final it is in development section. .32 kernel is not working in new cm7 & miui releases.

Thanks a lot, just upgraded official gingerbread and then flashed miui, works nice!
No problem, we all are here to help. I have been helped so many times that I want to help when ever I can. ^^

Recently I installed a custom rom (oxygen) on my Huawei X5 (U8800H) for first time and it was so easy therefore I have some questions before flashing another rom:
1. What is the difference between installing rom and force upgrade? (not in the method)
2. If I make a force upgrade (official GB for example) why I can't return to the stock rom simply by formatting the system and restore the backup rom?
3. Does the rom I want to install depend on the stock rom? If yes, How?
4. What is the best JB rom for IDEOS X5 that it is suitable for daily usage? (I have searched JB roms but I didn't find any stable rom)
5. If I flashed a rom customized for another phone on my U8800, does this brick it?(whether it is working or not)
6. If I flashed a kernel customized for another phone on my U8800 or a kernel with a version dosen't customized for the rom, does this brick the phone? Or can I change the kernel if it didn't work?
7. What is the directory of kernal's files? and dose it came with some roms? (zip rom)
In the stock rom the kernel version is 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #1 but in oxygen it is 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #221 dose this mean there is something changed in the kernal?
8. Roms like ICS dzo's Aurora require official update to GB , is it necessary if I flashed official GB kernal or any same version kernel?
If you can answer any question of those above, I'll be very grateful. Thanks.
Ill answer the questions i can:
3: it depends on the kernel. Froyo(2.2?) have 3.0 and gingerbread have 3.5, so you can only install 3.0 roms on a froyo phone and 3.5 roms on a gingerbread phone.
4: It isnt any stable JB roms yet but for ICS dzo's Aurora is very stable and mosterras Elora is said to be very stable to even tho i havent tryed it yet.
5: yes, it will brick if you flash a rom for another phone.
It also depends on the flavor of U8800 (plain, Pro or -51). We really need a sticky post about this at the top of this forum.
Yeah, I totally agree with you there. It's something its really easy to get wrong.

custom rom
The best is custom rom not official roms
In the official CWM 5.0.2.6 recovery I installed oxygen rom and every thing was normal but their is a problem with the official CWM recovery. When I want to restore a previous backup for the same rom or the sock one, this appears:
Code:
Checking MD5 sums...
MD5 mismatch!
1.Must I change the recovery?if yes, which one must be installed?
2.Is every rom have its customized recovery?

2. Gingerbread roms use 5.0.2.6 recovery and ICS roms use 5.5 (and 2 more numbers) recovery. So it only depends on the base of the rom you are flashing.

Can I try different recoveries (.img) to see which one would work? or it may harm the device?
Thanks

I don't think it will help changing the recovery if you are you using the same recovery for r restoring as you did when you made it, but I don't think it will harm you're device.

★HUAWEI IDEOS X5 U8800H★
I've been searching for the google for Huawei X5 U8800H firmware update to Andriod 2.3.5 Gingerbread. But seems U8800H doesn't have the Gingerbread. I can't find a .35 kernel for U8800H, so when I install Aurora ICS then I can't turn it on. Just keep looping on the "Ideos" that logo. So can any professional about this phone can give me a tutorial how to upgrade my U8800H to Aurora ICS?
Currently I'm using the Cyanogenmod 7.2 .32 kernel.
Glad professional can help me out ^_^

hi,
i want to ask who is the more stable roms for Ideos X5? (not the pro)
i want a stable and fast rom, and if it is possible not take all the battery.
for fast rom it is better to stay in android 2.3? or i can have and good results with 4.x?
the 4.x roms need more memory from the 2.3?
Thanks for any answer

in the past i have try this:
CyanogenMod 7.2 for Ideos X5 (u8800) by exet
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527745
and it is working but i want to try and newer roms.
So today i have try the AuroraSP.
I have recovery 5.0.2.8 (and i have try with 5.0.2.7)
I have make full wipe (data, cache, dalvik)
I have install AuroraSP V4R
but then in the boot screen i have see only the huawei logo. The rom not start.
I have do something wrong?
there is a problem to switch from ezet CM72 to auroraSP?
i have try to go and to Aurora ICS 4.0.4 v5 but the problem remain.

hi
thanks for this, i have use ezet's CM 7.2 and it is good.
I have see that you have use AuroraSP (in your signature).
How about speed and battery about ezetCM7 and AuroraSP? it is similar or not?
Also you have any idea what is wrong in my previous post?
thanks a lot
Hello, first of all you should install official 2.3 gingerbread from Huawei and root it. After that you should be able to install aurora without problem.
There is a thread on the developer section on how to install and root official Rom.

Speed is better on Aurora that's for sure and about battery i don't remember well i don't have CM7 and haven't tried anymore more than 1 year but drains a little more if you use 2G and turn off Wifi and then you can save battery.
If must have GB on your phone after that you should install any other custom roms since from CM7 to CM 10 and of course Aurora too. Remember when update from different kernel please format system, data and cache with together all 3 wipes.

it is working when i install CM72 but not in aurora.
i have wipe system data cache but still not luck. In the boot i have just see the huawei logo.
any idea?
If you have ezet's Rom then you are at .32 kernel and need to install official Rom first. Just read my previous post. If not then sorry..
