Keep an eye out HERE for the download link for the CWM touch recovery

Nice post, I saw this earlier and was curious if anyone was going to post anything.
I'm excited. I wonder if it'll work for the ICS recovery as well as the normal one we have.

Yeah, our devs are probably going to have to include it in the kernel or it'll be a fake flash like all the e4gt users are stupidly complaining about lol

Im really surprise by the amount of support our phone has been getting recently. I remember a few months back people thought that the Epic 4G was dead.

Actually when it got taken off the EOL list and the price dropped to almost nothing for new contract it became a big seller because of the keyboard. I think Sprint will keep it off the EOL list until they commision a new slider. And most of our DEVs are still locked in until July or later for full upgrades.

HAHA, I did it just because it looked like it was on the Epic4g line. Didn't play around much, but I found the touch didn't work, and the menu button selected things. Then I realized my stupidity after rechecking the download page and just flashed back. It looks kind of bland, but progress no-the-less. For the 2 times a year that I don't use Rom Manager to flash without touching anything, it'll be cool.

I flashed the 4g touch version but nothing happened. I figured it would have bricked or something. Its funny when those 4g touch *****es come over here whining because some flash didn't work on their phone. Some people are just out of their domain.

Lol, yes yes, we're family, but they definitely come to our neck and stir up the pot. They actually get mad when they realize they flashed the wrong **** and bricked their phone. Me personally, I'll brick my phone all day and fix it in 15 min. Its just whatever to me. Developers **** on the world.

It came to the Nexus, we just got it baked into a kernel last night for Epic Touch and I am sure it will make its way here soon. Fake flash through ROM Manager only made it disappear on reboot. The funny part was the people posting why their volume and power buttons didn't work. The OG Epic community is well represented over there and always thinking of those loyal to the Epic. The new development has been most impressive. Hell, you are farther than we are on CM9...LOL

Works great, except for the camera, which should be working by Monday, hopefully. Also, BT connects but doesn't pair. No 4G obviously.

Already gots me 2.3.3 on my EVO, though.
So,

Not Working:

Data will fail if rebooted from the Power menu, a battery pull should fix it. (Thanks to cgordon40x30 for the tip)

Btw, didn't notice the other thread, I was driving downtown when I read the news so I just posted it without doing any research, you know I don't double post old news.
Sounds like some BS on Sprint's part to try and convince people to buy a new phone, wait until after the new hotness is out. I'm going to buy one anyways but I would like an official upgrade for the one I have Now. You've got people here who can single handed port a ROM in just a few days but HTC can't do it in six months with the source code?
They could at least leak the damn thing for us.

So I was talking to one of my best friends from way back and I let him know that I was getting away from carrying around my iPod and just using my EVO 4G for everything. He said he is not really into Android and prefers iOS. He then tells me that he's got not one but two EVO 4Gs that he is not using anymore and that he will send them to me. The next awesome part is that they are both rooted. Can't wait for some rooted EVO goodness.

How about I don't believe one word of this whole post. I say pics of tracking #'s and EVOs once you receive these "free" evos from your "friend". I call bs on this thread.
I will post pics of them when I get them. I wish he would have told me about this before I got my EVO though. Would have saved me $100 bucks as I just got it a few weeks ago.
Thinking of keeping one as my daily driver, one for backup/testing, and the stock one is probably going to go up for sale.

Cyanogenmod 7.1 -- I'm a sad panda

So I bought the Nexus the day it came out to get away from the Epic. My sister and mother though are still using the Epic and I was looking to help them out and load Cyanogen on it since they JUST released 7.1
I can't help but notice that the Epic is the only US SGS phone that isn't supported. The Captivate, Vibrant, Fascinate and International SGS all have it. They really got their hopes up too after seeing it on my Nexus.
I'm sorry for you guys, after having the Epic for almost a year I understand how awesome the community was. I ran MIDnight and ACS 2.1 and 2.2 roms for a while and loved them. I'm really sad to see that there isn't a true AOSP rom yet.
I had been away so long though that I'm not sure where the CM7 development left off on the Epic. Any news on what's holding you guys back?

Given that the OP has 375 posts on XDA to your 2, chances are he/she is not a troll (the jury is very much out on you though). Yes, there are many threads as to why there isn't CM7 for our phones, the point still stands that CM7 is stuck in 1st gear (Alpha build) due to the fact that there is no source code released for Epic due to no official GB. The culprits remain the same: Samsung and Sprint. The devs literally had nothing to work with, so the fact that there is even a working Alpha build is nothing short of a miracle.
CM7 is not stuck in alpha in any way. In fact, it's mostly completed. The current release is labelled as an alpha, but it's coming along very well, and is stable.

Our "Alpha Build" is CM 7.1 the latest to come out. It's a daily driver and we're completely up to date.

True, I did not have it right as it is nearly fully functional and not an alpha build that it was months ago.
From CM7 wiki:
"The current buglist:
Overlay for Video Recording
Video playback for certain encoders
Wimax
Other than those (relatively) minor bugs, this rom is nearing a somewhat completion."
Would love to give CM7 a ride, but will wait a bit longer for hopefully a stable GB modem without random reboots and working WiMax (which I still use on occasion).

[REQ] Port of rascarlos rascream to crespo4g

Well, I think I speak for every nexus s user when I say rascream rocks and I think I speak for all crespo4g users when I say WE WOULD LOVE A PORT/BUILD.
Not sure how tough it would be, I can't imagine it being super tough as its been done before. I guess you could just say I'm envious of crespo users who get to enjoy rascream
Not trying to be a forum nazi at all, just a heads up. I think @rascarlo did not want the link to Rascream posted anywhere other than the Trinity kernel thread. If he has changed that protocol, I apologize.
However, I did thank you because I would love to give rascream a try on my crespo4g as well...

I really hope it gets ported eventually. I've read nothing but good things about it from some pretty avid users. From what I understand its a treat. Actually it shoots out rays of sunshine, and Canadian bacon.
To those unfamiliar, this rom its based off of aosp with the minimal things you'd need from aokp/CM added in, also dark themed and modded. Take a gander at the trinity thread to read through nothing but good experiences and long battery life, besides the latest build has gotten over 1,000 downloads.

Running very good with T11 from May 5th

JellyBean 4.1 running on SGS3 already

Amazing... a dev by the name of Faryaab (in #teamhacksung on Freenode) already has Jellybean running on the SGS3 (international)
Launcher FC's, among many other problems, but it's ON!

Yeah, as it says in the screenshot, and as it must be since it's not mid-july aosp-day yet. Still, nice to see.
Devs putting in work...it'll be awesome having jellybean on my S3 and Nexus
heck yea! Awesome sight. Really hoping sg3 gets some good dev support!
Wow, this is impressive. Since I am rooted with my Sprint GS3, this would be awesome once stable.
Keep it going and good luck, you guys are amazing!!

VZW probably figures if your OK getting boned with their pricing your OK getting the shaft with locked bootloaders as well. Very logical in a VZW sort of way.

And yet you're apparently still their customer. Who's really to blame here?
I dumped Verizon. Best move I ever made lte was spotty on long island and sucked battery. T-Mobile has been awesome with the 3g+ consistent speeds oh and I'm spending about $80 less a month. Their customer service has been awesome as well.
