Sorry to open a new new thread but i can't post in the right section. I need to know if i can install terramino's rom without going to a 2.2 rom? In the moment i have the latest oxigen (since late november).

If you are on .32 kernel then there is no problems. If you are on .35 then you have to install original rom (2.3.5) three times to wipe all the stuff from the phone.
I was on .35 (MIUI) and went back to .32 because it had issues with random vibrating and lagging.
Thanks. I never wen't to .35

Hello everyone!
I haven't rooted/ overclocked a phone before. So I could need some help (I know the basics). I have the phone for 2months now and I'm thinking about overclocking it to 1-1.2 ghz. Is there anyway back from rooting and overclocking (becourse of the warranty...).And what's TempRoot? Will I be able to overclock it after updating it to 2.3 (becourse of the kernel)...(IF the update schould come.....who knows?)

1ghz is ok. that's for sure. I dont think you need higher, but if you need, just lower it after need. To remove root and OC, just install stock rom. 2.3 custom roms, yes. Official which is for u8800pro, no.
I mean the official u8800/ x5 2.3 rom that hasn't come out for now...
DobI need a custom kernel to overclock? What's temp root?
Sent from my IDEOS X5 using XDA App
Yes, there is no official, but there is custom roms. I dont know what were i thinking when i wrote my answer. Yes, you need custom kernel, so custom rom does the job. Temp root lasts until restart. so when you restart your phone, you'll lose it.
But there will COME an orginal 2.3 soon™ Are there problems with custom roms?(wifi....) Is it easy to flash orginal back? Os there a kernel to overclock on orginal rom?
And thx for your answers!

There is always problems, but those are usually written in the post.
You can check this link. It is ultimate guide for u8800 in modaco. It includes how to return to official.
There is no kernel for original rom.
Thx for the link. What's the best ideos x5 rom? What's the most "stock android like" rom. Maybe Oxygen? Will the orginal 2.3 be installed like an custom rom? Or is it something like an update? I don't want to break/lose warranty of my phone...How can I reset to stock when the phone has an problem at booting or volume keys?
Sent from my IDEOS X5 using XDA App
So the orginal kernel doesn't support overclocking? And there's no overclock kernel for the stock rom...?

I have oxygen-2.3.1-u8800_r1 for over a week now.
Super Fast (It is running on 1024 Mhz) ,touchscreen reacts superfast ,no delay , no lag, ,superstable and the only problems that there are some apps that need reinstalling , like wifi-tether and google-voice and a few other I do not remember right now.
I edited the system/etc/media_profiles.xml and turned sample frequency to 30.000
and the sound with the recorded video is perfect now.
Battery life is good (altough I only switch wifi on when I need to download something because I do not have an umlimited mobile-data package)
For me , the Oxygen rom is perfect, Many thanks to the developer
Huawei Ideos X5 , with Oxygen 2.3.1 rom android 2.3.7 on 1024MHz ... Greetz from Belgium...

Hope we find a dev to continue geno's work..
I'm "trying" to get a alpha cm9 build running, but first I need to fix the recovery, I have an issue with it restarting every 3 minutes (don't have a clue what does that). I'm porting the recovery to 2.3 beta.

Hi Now am using 2.3.7 version and kernal 2.6.32.9-gb in my defy,
Am planing to install ICS 4.0.3.What kernal should download?
Becoz i already tried Mar 3 build but its stucked many times and getting restarted again so pls tel the correct methods and kernal.GApps.
Can any one help me?
If you have gingerbread kernel you need to install a Defy+ build. If you have a normal defy, I think you need to install batery fix as well. I'll try to find it. Defy+ builds work well with red lense defys, but I don't think camera works for green lense users.
Thanks...so shall I install defy + build...and kernal link available separately....what is the use of those kernal...how. and wat should be install

You already have a kernel. Or else you wouldn't be able to use the phone. You've already told me that you have a gingerbread kernel. So don't bother flashing a new one.
Gapps is on first page for main CM9 thread. Battery fix is somewhere in the thread :-/ Look around page 300

CM9 Kernel gives bootloader error. It's for froyo kernel users only (as far as i've understood)
DON'T flash it! It will soft brick your phone!

I hope all doubts over
CM9 builds, gapps & battery fix is enough to my phone to run ICS.
Have to flash above three things?
Am i right?
Yup, that should be it.

That is true. I have a Defy+ and I installed the CM9 kernel. It soft bricked my phone and I had to do a SBF flash, root CWM recovery and all things all over!! Flash the CM9 built for Defy+ by Quarx. It does restarts and freezes ocassionally but is okay otherwise for a beta version!!
Hello!
Until now I have used almost every custom rom that has been made for u8800.
I have noticed that roms that are based on .35 kernel restart my phone once or twice per day. Even aurora and roms based on aurora do that. Is there any way to solve that?
Sent from my U8800 using XDA
You did triple wipe before installing rom?
Sent from my u8800-MIUI v4 using tapa 2-4
It is a wifi issue. Turn off wifi and it will be ok.

1. Well use GB Kernel (but as I know, there was issues with proximity. I'all need to confirm that)
2. Kernel first
3. JB. Faster than CM7.
