Wow, thanks Motorola. What is the point of registering for updates on the Xoom page? I haven't received one email from them. Anyway, I am happy with my purchase from Costco.

Right!??! I haven't received any emails from Motorola either... I'm still unsure if I want to hop on the Xoom wagon quite yet. I'm fairly happy with my honeycombed Nook Color but I miss a lot of features.
What a crock, I registered too and had no idea. You can always do what I did. I bought it at Costco because of their 90-day return policy and I'm just going to return it within that period if I don't like it. I don't feel the same pressure I do with a 14 day return policy.
I did almost the same thing only I used the 25% coupon code that they were giving out for signing up and following the OCNN. I got the Xoom, portfolio case, gell case, 2 day shipping, and tax for $660.77.

You sir are my hero. I picked up the XOOM this morning for $874, no activation thankfully, but just placed an order using the discount you mentioned and got the XOOM and the gel case for $647.74 shipped. That's a savings of around $226, now that I can do. I've already called BB and asked about the return policy, 14 days no restocking, so I'm returning my current one tomorrow.
Again, my hero!
Just got mine for $635 including free gel case. I saved $248

[Q] Anybody bought it with the Best Buy financing?

I'm thinking on buying The Xoom either the full amount ($799) or getting it via Best Buy financing for 18 months no interest. Just wondering if anybody got the 18 month financing payment what is your monthly payment? Also what did you have to pay up front? Thanks in advanced
I'm neither an account nor a math wiz, but at 18 months no interest for $800, you're looking at payments around $50 a month.

After tax your looking around 850/18 months is gonna be around $50 a month like said above.
Yeah I was just wondering if there were any other fees and stuff, cause if so I would just buy the whole thing up front. If not then monthly would better
I have purchased a few Items at best buy with zero intrest, just make sure you remember to pay it off before promotion expires, there are no other fees.
You don't *have* to pay a set amount each month, you do have to at least pay a minimum. You could pay $100 one month, $25 the next, etc.
If it *isn't* paid off by the end or if you miss a payment completely, there used to be small print that says they could charge you all the interest at that point.
The "no interest" is a little mis-leading, there is a monthly percentage fee for "debt cancellation" which is basically the fee for not charging you interest. It's significantly reduced from actual interest gain, but it still isn't a true 0.
On the whole, if you can afford it upfront, you'd save yourself some money.
I see. Thanks for the info fellas

debt cancellation (account shield) is not mandatory and is always 100% optional.
OP You can pay your payment in store (cash or check, no credit cards) as well as online. Otherwise there is a minimum payment due every month (I wanna say either 10 dollars or 10%). If you have any more questions shoot!
Agree i have never heard of the percentage fee. And i am been using them for years, i just make sure to pay it off way early and never ever be late.
I'm pretty sure he signed up for account shield which is roughly ~$1.20? on every 100 dollars you spend
And what is the account shield for?

account shield is in the event of a natural disaster, someone steals the device or other things (I don't work in that department, so not sure about everything) you will not be required to owe payments

I bought my macbook pro from bestbuy no interest 18 months. I paid the minimum (about $25 a month) for about a year. Then I made several large payments of $200 over the next few months to pay it off. So what I'm saying is u can pay it off at any rate or structure u want just don't miss a payment.
If u don't pay off in 18 months, the APR is somewhere around 25% lol. So pay that sucker off early!!! I think I was done a month or so early. (25% on $1400 isn't very fun).

Yea its extremely ridiculous. That's why they offer 0% interest over 18 months is because the deferred interest is massive. Its really a solid deal, even if you want to just buy it and pay it off a few months later, not wait the whole 18 months.
Wow, I never knew that the account shield was some added thing I signed up for...I'm totally canceling that.

Lapdock now regularly $299 at AT&T stores

Jes' sayin. Went effective May 1st.
Picked mine up Monday. It wasn't worth $500. I ended up paying just over $200 with discounts and credits applied. That was worth it.
Yes, but the unanswered question is IF you buy the lapdock from the AT&T store or online-store do they force you to buy the datapro 4G wireless tethering plan?
It's unclear, especially when speaking to AT&T store workers or online-store workers via chat -- they both seem to tell people that $299 price (with the $100 Visa Debit card mail-in rebate) is only good IF you sign-up for the wireless tethering plan.
Hmmm this almost makes it worth it. But you can still get a netbook for around $300 plus tax and still tether it for free (with the right hacks). This thing is damn sexy but I don't know if $300 is quite low enough for me.
AT&T sent me a 25% off coupon towards an accessory order not too long ago...maybe with one of those this would be a sell.
When I first saw that thing when i got my antrix i laughed a bit, a dock to hook up your phone to and use it a as a desktop wtf? But i suppose for some this may be cool, but i have enough computers as it is, I couldn't see using this unless I didn't have a desktop.
Anyone have it and really like it?

I bought a car dock using one of those 25% off coupons after I tried to see if it could be used on the lapdock, but no go. IIRC, it would only take off the 25% from the $499 list price on the lapdock.

Additional PSA: Moto X price drop at Costco.com

Today, the Moto X has dropped to $130 for Att and Verizon and $150 for Sprint on contract at Costco.com (3rd party called Wireless Advocates), plus those crazy taxes of course (approximately $50, I think). I bought my X for $200 from Costco two weeks ago and called today for a price adjustment, which they offer for 30 days beyond your purchase date.
Not only does Costco offer an amazing 90 day return policy (which I took advantage of to change from the HTC One), include an accessory pack (kinda worthless), and offer free shipping and activation, but there's an additional rebate offer on Sprint's Moto X this month only for a bonus portable battery pack (Motorola brand, I believe). A battery pack could seriously come in handy with our non-removable battery situation.
Costco also offers warranty by Square Trade for $99, which I believe is a good deal, if that appeals to you.
I know the price for a Moto X is lower now at Best Buy and Amazon, but factor in what Costco offers and see if it might work better for you.

I don't recall any approval process. I simply called Costco, told them I had a problem with the call quality of the HTC One, and that I'd like to change to the Moto X. As soon as it became available, they processed the exchange. I had to pay upfront for the new phone and will (hopefully) get the refund when they process my return. Maybe there was an approval in the background somewhere.

$299 is better than $349. For some reason my shipping, even one day shipping chosen, is on Monday September 20 instead of friday the 17th through amazon as well. But for $50 I can wait a weekend. Add in the Samsung $200 promotion on my Note 2 and you get the phone for $99.00. You can't beat that.

17th, 18th, 21st, honestly those few more hours or days are meaningless. If it is worth $50 to some to get it on the 17th for sure, god bless them. I am fine either way, even though I plucked down the extra $3.99 for one day shipping. I may change even that. To each their own though. I bought the Note 4 for a myriad of reasons, but the main one that I am looking forward to is the VR headset by Oculus/Samsung which uses the Note 4 as its brains and screen. THAT is the real game changer among the new cell phones this year. There is not nearly enough attention to how big that will be. And that doesn't come out until November sometime. So I am fine with my Note 2 a few extra days.
My Note II + $398 = Note 4 + Samsung Gear VR.
Slap me and call me Mary, that is sweet.

I pre-ordered thru best buy. They are going to give me $200 for my Nexus S 4G!!! (It normally only would get $14.00 trade in) I also signed up last year for a $50 discount on my next phone at best buy. So if the honor amazon at $299, after $200 trade in and my additional $50 discount. I'll be paying $49.99 total with contract which I already paid into a gift card to pre-order it.

Ok... Pre-ordered. BB will give me the $200 for my ancient LG Optimus (heh heh). Here's my gripe... I was told I would have to pay the tax on the full price... $799 =$80... Arrgh. Total out of pocket = $164.
hmmm. BB told me specifically they don't charge tax on the full amount but only on the $299
Lost my Note 2 back in August and have been waiting... using my Epic4G since and its killing me,lol.. And no one wants a trade in for the Epic.. :crying: Guess I'm shelling out the 299 if I want to play, unless I can wait for a few more weeks and see if I catch a deal on Amazon AFTER release.

I hope that's the case. Maybe the SR was wrong. Doesn't even seem legal.
I'm really surprised if BB matches Amazon on cell phones, since on their price match page it states:
Our Low Price Guarantee does not cover:
The online prices of retailers not listed
Contract mobile phones sold by any online retailer
put 50 down for two lines on my account, wife wanted white while i picked black. Luckily bestbuy agreed to take 2 ZTE avids i had bought off ebay for 10 bucks each for the $200 trade in .
While this wasn't my first (or even second) choice of device this year, but it seems it will be the best one available and will be my first 'Note' device. Will be fun to see if there is anything new dev wise.
I'm stuck, do I do the best buy deal and get phone for 99 bucks BUT have to pay for their geek squad protection plan 11 bucks a month for 24 months (+$244) or do I wait and hope Costco gets it, pay 299 for it but only have to pay 99 bucks for protection plan that has no deductible so $400 up front? It really depends on the state / tax jurisdiction you live in. California, for example, requires retailers to charge the sales tax on the full retail price prior to discounts / subsidies. Other states may only require tax on the final amount paid to the customer.
