How to install gapp into CM9 by tezet - Milestone 2 General

hi,i flashed the last cm9 by tezet, but i can not get into the stock recovery by using X.
is there another way to install gapp?
PS:sorry i cant reply in Milestone 2 Android Development.

You can access Clockwork Mod by pressing the volume buttons when the notificats LED turns on during boot. From there you should be able to flash the gapps zip from "install zip from sd card"

i have two recovery ; clockworkMod and (2e)

when i enter the recovery mode
i got into Android system recovery (2e)
then i choose apply sdcard:update.zip
then it forward me to ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5..
then i choose apply sdcard:update.zip again..
then it rebooted and back to system recovery (2e) again
what should i do to fix this ? i want to update my ROM
If your custom ROM can be flashed via cwm, go save it in your internal sd then use the install zip in sd card option in cwm.
I suggest you do a full nandroid back-up first just to be on the safe side...
thanks for reply..
i think i can't use cwm anymore to flash.. since it keeps looping between this two recovery mode.. i just flash it using odin, now i'm runnning original firmware 2.1
but i still see those two recovery mode.. how to remove one of them ?
When you get into Clockwork, don't press the "apply update.zip".
Select "install zip from sdcard" and locate your roms .zip and install it.
Read the instructions again and again until you understand it. It's obvious that you have no idea what you are doing.

If I understand your post correctly, you are having trouble getting into CWM after installing it. I had the same thing on my phone.
When going into recovery, you hold down the power button, the home button and the volume up button and release the home button when the Samsung screen appears. I tried releasing the power button when the Samsung screen appears and it goes into CWM recovery.

[Q] red cwm and rom manager

Does anyone know if there is a way to force rom manager to bypass its check for cwm. I have red cwm installed, and don't wanna flash green cwm, I just want to use rom manager to pull down themes and such, and extract or manually flash what ( want, but it wont let me past the flash cwm or cancel pop-up....
Well, I still use green cwm, so Im not sure, but if Rom manager still lets you download stuff...
you can still manually install things you download in Rom manager.
They get stored in /sdcard/clockworkmod/download -
So you can download them, cancel the cwm install, then boot into recovery and install manually.
That's just it, it wont let me use it, unless I relent to let it install, green cwm. I'm on super clean dL09 with adrynalyne's 1230 voodoo kernel, which, if I understand is what red cwm was built for, voodoo I mean...

When you reboot into green CWM from Rom Manager, go to Advanced, and select Reboot to recovery, and it will reboot the phone into the red CWM. Either that, or you can power off the phone and old Power + Volume Up + Volume Down to get into red CWM, or use ADB or Terminal Emulator to enter the "reboot recovery" command, which will also have the same effect. Once in red CWM, just choose to install from zip file, and browse to the download folder that Bawb3 pointed you to to find the ROM zips to install.
If you haven't flashed CWM with Odin as well as ROM Manager then it won't actually install... Flashing with ROM Manager only puts the update.zip on your SD card, and flashing with Odin actually puts the recovery kernel on the phone.
Okay, gotcha.....thats what I needed to know.....
Thanks guys, much appreciated....
I odined the red cwm package that adrynalyne posted to go along with the voodoo 1230 kernel. I just wanted to make sure I didn't blast it out of the phone with rom manager. I can get to the red recovery just fine, as y'all mentioned with volume up/down and power, so.....three finger salute....
I'm coming from a Moto Cliq XT , which seemed a bit simpler to pop into recovery and flash stuff using an amon RA recovery than this one.... still learning the ropes..
Thanks again...

You are in stock recovery, you can't flash any of the zip ROM/files with stock recovery.
When you did your root, there's ususally an options to push CWM recovery afterward.
see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15975383&postcount=4
thanks , but how do i use it? do i need to make all over again or just put it in somewhere? sorry for noob questions...

E: can't mount sdcard please help...

Im trying to install custom rom.I installed Iconiaroot then installed Acer recovery from market and im able to reboot into clockwork recovery but when i try to install zip from sdcard it says e: cant mount sdcard..any help please...
Format your sd to FAT32 via the pc.
Insert sd card in Iconia (with power off)
Tab should recognize the sd.
Copy your zip to sd, and boot to recovery and select the zip
Ensure you select "install zip from sd"
Hey guys ...sorry for this but how do you boot to recovery?

I'll be nice to the n00bs today
AFTER you Root and use the AcerRecovery tool to install Thor's recovery, there are 2 common methods.
1. With the tablet off, press and hold both Vol - and the power button for a few seconds, until you see the text start to display in the upper left corner of the display. Then release both. It will finish booting to the recovery menu. Navigation is used by the vol rocker. Selection is the Pwr.
2. Download and install a ROM utility app that has the option to boot to recovery through the OS. This saves a little time as you don't have to power off manually.
However you need to have root enabled and if you're on HC 3.2+ then you REALLY need to read up on how to root your tab.
This is what the search bar is for in the top right corner.....
just rooted the unstable 3.1 and installed cwm 5.0 now im in recovery but i cant mount sd. I tryed formatting it, diddnt work. HELP
I'm a little late to the party...
My tab is rooted and i'm running tabooney 1.1 with thor's 1.3 recovery. i'm trying to install a new rom, but the recovery keeps saying "e: can't mount /sdcard"
i have a newly formatted (fat32) sdcard which i can see/browse with root file explorer.
edit: i installed the AcerRecovery tool from the market, flashed a newer version of the recovery, booted into recovery but i still cannot mount the sdcard.
what am i missing here?
i did some more homework/research and found a solution. it definitely wasn't a problem with the recovery since my micro-sdcard from my old htc thunderbolt worked just fine.
i formatted the card using the formatting utility found at sdcard.org (i found out about it somewhere on xda forums).
so after formatting my sdcard with this utility, i threw it back into my iconia a500 and voila! i was able to mount it from recovery (thor's 1.3.4 cwm).
shock2sys: You are the man!!! Thnx a LOT!! Worked for me

[Q] Howto use the stock ICS recovery?

Hi,
my A500 has got the stock ICS. I've also managed to root it. Only the stock recovery is still installed. I have no idea how I can install the ClockworkMod there. Or may I naively install ClockworkModRecovery via the Acer Recovery installer? -> Maybe someone can answer that.
My main concern is something else. In the stock ICS image the AcerRing is missing. But the custom image FLEXREAPER has this on board and also offers a variety of ZIPs for customisation the Acer ring (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517181).
Can I use the stock recovery to install the AcerRing? E.G. I rename the FLEXREAPER-R5-STOCK-RING.zip file to "update.zip" and copy it into the root directory of my SD card? Then simply using keys (which were the keys? Power+"Vol-"?) and boot into stock recovery mode and then the system installs the AcerRing automatically?
Thank you for your answers.
Install CWM via Acer Recovery Installer program.
Put ROM of choice on external SD
Boot into recovery via Power+Volume (closest to power button). This will put you into CWM Recovery
Goto Wipe menu and wipe data, cache and Dalvik cache
After wipes, choose "install from zip"
Install zip from external sd
Navigate to rom.zip
Install rom
Reboot and enjoy.

I don't think it is enough to flash a mod. A mod just changes colours and styles etc.
You need to install complete Flexreaper Rom to get it work.

AcerRecoveryInstaller warns me, that I have a not supported rom installed. It's the stock rom. Can I ignore this warning and install CWM Recovery?
I want to let this stock rom installed. I just want to install or uninstall system apps etc. or rather as I mentioned above to install the AcerRing.

The zip contains the AcerRing.apk and some META-INF directory. So I think it isnot only a mod of this app. I try to install the extracted apk but it was not successful.

Ok, I think you are right. The zip also contains update-scripts with paths-strings to Flexreaper paths etc. :-(
Just flash flexreaper. Its awesome. I personally don't use the ring though. But the mods are nice
Thank you all for your answers
