It's always been this way, using data from your usage of their apps to provide more relevant ads and search results.
They've just unified their privacy policies into one, that's all it is. Which makes sense really, since they've been using data between products, they SHOULD all fall under one privacy policy.

So then wtf is the difference? I need some relevant answers from someone who is neutral. I don't need any extremists, either direction of the spectrum. I'm tryna get an intellectual ideea about the big picture here, be it good or bad

The google services are the only ones affected. Texts through google voice might skew your analytics, but texting through Sprint wouldn't, I believe. It'd be tied into things like what you look at and +1 through Google+, or seach through Google, etc.

I'm not sure to what extent, if any, Google uses email context as data, but that's an unlikely scenario. Google search and ad analytics work a little more subtly than such a literal association, even more so when dealing with personal exchanges. A more likely Gmail example is being on the mailing list for several punk bands and seeing an ad for Alternative Press...or possibly a local venue. But as i said, i don't know much Gmail data is used, if any Gmail data is used at all.

You can now block unwanted voice calls as well as text messages. You have to go to Sprint's web site and list the numbers you want blocked there.

I've been using that service for about six months now, to block all the dirtbags sending dirty messages to my teenage daughter. Blocked about forty numbers from voice and text already.

I've been using Call Blocker Gold, didn't know Sprint had that option. Is there an option to block all private/unknown numbers as well?

FYI: there are ways around blocking by phone number to get in touch with another mobile device. Off top my head:
Use Skype
Use Gmail to text or call
Possibly Google Voice?
Instant Messaging (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, GTalk, etc)

on sprints website you need to know the number. You can't block unless you have it. If the app your using blocks unknown callers I would stick with that.

Wow. I guess someone failed to mention that this site is not /b/ or 4chan or whatever these types frequent these days.
I have an 18 year old and I know that a girl does not need to be a "whore" simply because boys want to talk to her. She doesn't want to talk to them, but that doesn't stop those kids from trying. Still waiting until she chooses one of them so I can set up the ring in the garage and put him through the test.
Edit: I specifically did not quote the offending post because I don't want that kind of childishness and hate on my posts. BrooklynsFinest is not the offender and I echo his comment.

You have it but you have to log in to Sprint and go to the bottom of the screen and go to Change preferences, then scroll down to block voice. You have to add numbers you want to block there.

Yep, went through Sprint's crappy site and found it. Bet next to no one uses it because it's buried so deep in there and is presented in such a user-unfriendly way.
Mostly what I do is give out my Google voice # and use it to block. Neat and easy.

lol You already have circles(Whatever googles does for google+) and Facebook Chat/Messenger.
I just want a messaging program that doesn't destroy battery life.
This program has the potential to be widely adopted but iPhone users will go straight to iMessage, BBers will stick to BBM and anyone who is chatting cross platform prior to this will stick to WhatsApp or the other variations. Not to mention that Samsung could make the switch really quick and easy if they make it so you can scan your address book to add buddies or add them via username/PIN. If they release to iPhone and BB quickly as they plan to it has a chance. But really, can ChatOn do anything that I can't already do with Go SMS Pro?

I honestly do not think their comparable.
Siri still has a + side to it, for example you can ask it something in any way you want to and it will reply, Google Now does not, yet anyways.
Anything else, Google Now has done better so far, organization, information, etc.
