my friend has a Tattoo and he's finding its getting very slow and alot of problems with texting being extremely slow any tips i can give him?

Clear the cache or upgrade to a custom rom.
Nfinity ROM made wonderful things to my Tattoo.
Faster and more feature than before, Sadly the camera and FM-radio doesn´t work .... yet but I hope it will be in the future... soon

Once I got some laging on my tattoo and factory reset + formating SD really helped... I had some garbage all over the SD card after too much installed and removed apps.
Custom ROMs are risky but great way to literally reborn the phone... For four months I was using the stock 1.6 and it was working nice but this custom ROM I'm currently using is much faster then the stock!
If wipe and factory reset don't help, you know what you have to do!

use a task killer app
try other sms app like handcent

[Q] Any ROM with normal sound volume?

I've tried three or four Android ROMs and they all have incredibly loud in-call volume. Hoping one of you guys can recommend a ROM that works properly and fulfills its primary function as a phone. It's frustrating to see so much effort being put into fixing things like blurry MMS and LED notifications when the basic function as a usable phone that doesn't blast your eardrum to smithereens is overlooked.

Odd. Usually people complain about the low in-call volume on phone's. Here is the complete opposite. I would choose loud over too low any time

What roms are you using? Might give it a go. ;-)

x3, I thought I was going deaf when I first switched to using these roms.

Seems like you're a sense junkie, but if you can live without sense, I'm using cmn 2.0 by ocm and it seems okay. Also, most the gingerbread roms seemed fine, although those come with their own batch of problems.

I am very impressed by the Gingerbread update - no problems thus far and it is blisteringly fast. Even the stock browser is epically quick
Much kudos to Samsung! I feel like I have a brand new device.
My only issue - the Swype spacebar in portrait is too small.

i didn't notice any different from the old one

But it is smooth and so far... I like it

u mean the music hub or what cuz i can't see any different between the music app on 2.2 or in 2.3.3
but as far its fast and good feel like something new ( new tab ) )

What are the majour changes (in google mods and samsung mods - have samsung kept the nice wifi icon from stock)

the change now from 2.2 to 2.3.3
wifi icon still the same with different color
but i ensure u . its fast , good , stock rom i ever seen

No, mine is an unbranded tab that I updated via Chainfires ROM manually.
As far as I'm aware, this hasn't rolled out part Italy via kies.

Does GPS works with 2.3.3?

The rom is fast. Flash videos in 720p are smooth. but I find one problem the light on the the keys doesn't turn off, only if the screen is also off. Is anyone having the problem as me?

i never focus on the keys light either on 2.2 .
i don't know about this

its not a bug - its a feature ...
So you can see the LEDs even when you not tab on the screen.
I like it.
Every gingerbread version has it.

[Q] (Q) Does the ICS AOSP ROM include all accessibility features included in ICS?

I'm legally blind and I'm really looking forward to see the new accessibility features in Android 4.0. Now I know their new accessibility features on the Galaxy Nexus, but do they also come in the roms for other devices, mainly the MYTOUCH4g?

I've actually tried the rom and it does not include the "Explore By Touch" feature. I was wondering if their was a fix for it, The problem is that ICS doesn't recognize the trackpad so the only way visually impaired and blind people can use the rom is with this feature. Please someone HELP ME with this.......

One thing I forgot to mention is that the Rom is still a working progress so maybe that feature might be included.later. have you tried the market. There are couple apps there that might help.

I have tried the market and there was nothing in regards to this, but I did contact the dev and he told me that he would be looking into it for me..

Some accessibility features are absent though, mainly because the accessibility package isn't there... Normally once the phone is first booted and you're at the Welcome screen, you can draw your finger around the perimeter of the screen which starts the Accessibility assistant. Doesn't do this in our ICS ROM (yet).

I actually messaged the dev for this rom and i was instructed to download the google tts and the explore by touch feature would be there, So I'll give it a shot and report my findings.

So I've tried the fix but its a no go. For some reason the google TTS or any TTS for that matter just isn't working for me in ICS, so if anyone has a fix for the TTS issue in the rom I would greatly appreciate it.

TTS doesn't work in our ICS ROM for some reason, I got nothing but Force Closes. That I won't stress over because I'm not disabled (yet), but it's a buzzkill for those who need it.

Well I messaged the dev and told him my findings about the TTS issue so hopefully with the next few updates of the rom the TTS issue will be taken care of.

I use the headset that came with your phone when purchased.But when listening to music I can not use the next button on the headset to transfer to other songs.

Keep an eye out on the Blackout thread as they are working on a patch/update to fix a lot of bugs

Apparently headset buttons aren't working due to the kernel let's hope they update the kernel

There is a post somewhere which mentions you can get rid of the lag by removing the oc daemon, i did this and its all speedy fast now.

Well just to let you know if you r runin blackout ICS the way to avoid lag is choosing ultrasmooth and in daemon controller change cpu freq to smartassV you will notice the diference right away

Fast DHD
The DHD with Blackout 3 rom is extremly fast compared to before with the official HTC, which was always lagging or crashing... It is a very impressive job from the Blackout team! :good: Thank you!
PS: the demon controller was set up conservative as CPU Freq. I just change it to smartassv2 as buhor suggested. Did not see much difference since it was fast before already.

Cant see why htc didnt do their own ics after all, its so much faster than stock/gingerbread roms.
The only thing i dont like about 4+ is that third party apps like gocontacts/sms cant sync pictures from facebook.

anyone have this problem? when i made/received a call, i have to reboot the phone otherwise when the next call i made/received, the other party will not be able to hear my voice, although i can hear them clearly. According to them, they only heard some distortion noise in the background.
I pmed them but have not yet received a reply so i just post here to ask.

Thats weird I would recommend a full wipe reinstall it..if doesnt work try a dif radio......I ve tested several ICS and this One is the most stable 4 me
