hi guys!
its been a long time since I had the pleasure of visiting xda all the way back to 2006 when I flashed my HTC Artemis most every week....
well now I got my hands on a TMOUS with ultimate android rom 2.3.3 with MAGLDR 1.13
Now to my nOOb question....
as android has some what limited support for adhoc wifi and I need it badly (hd2 connect to my laptops shared wifi), I want to flash winmo7 on my hd2. I've searched and searched and I can't seem to find if its ok to flash winmo7 an an already flashed android 2.3.3 for dual boot. And then we have the rom size...do I need to make the partition bigger if I want to keep the android rom aswell...I think I do right?
But I think I know pretty simple how to just flash winmo7 straight on the hd2 if all above fails. the big question and I hope I'm right...
Winmo7 supports adhoc wifi right (hd2 connect to a adhoc wifi on laptop )?
thanks
Zozew
You need to flash wp7 first, xbmod rom,, then change partition size, then install droid to the newly created partition space on sd card, you will lose everything so use a backup program

ok I kinda thought so after reading up a bit. I downloaded the 8107 winmo7 rom will that one be ok? and would you happen to know about the adhoc support?
Thanks a million
WP7 and Android doesn't support adhoc wifi, they are only supported by WM and iOS, as far as i know. My WP7 phones, one HTC Titan & one HTC HD2 they don't see the adhoc wifi from my second HD2 running WM 6.5. My laptop can find and connect to the same adhoc wifi from HD2 with no problems.

hay guys sorry id some of you get mad for me posting this here but this is the only place i know my qustion will get answered. OK im new to the windows phone deal. i have a mytouch slide and a g1 rooted so i under that hole part here is my ?.
From what i have read on the forums only build roms work with the hd2. well i would like to put android on it but after looking around most the roms on here and the links on here for putting android on the phone all lead to the LEO forum is the correct or no if not can someone tell me were to get the most resent android rom for the hd2 usa, now there seems to be two ways of installing it one is from sd card and 2 is from boot i would like to do it from boot any help would be grate thanks all and happy modding
Someone correct me if I am wrong...
There are not TWO ways of doing android.
Android is ALWAYS installed on the SD card. The only way to "boot" to it is to have your WM configured to boot the two files from your SD card required to run it, in essence there are a few apps that can do this at WM startup.
You will still need an Android friendly Windows Mobile ROM, so the stock from will not work. You also need a compatible radio.
I would check out the HD2 Android Dev forum for more info though.

The Android port cannot replace the WinMo OS just yet. The only way is to install it to your SD Card and it will run off of that. There are apps that allow you to choose between WinMo and Android on bootup. The LEO Android forum is correct since Android builds do not matter which device it is booted on.
Android is able to run on the Stock ROM, but people have said it runs better with a different ROM/Radio.
The build I recommend is Energy ROM / Radio 2.12.50.02_2 and an Android Build of your choice, but you can always run it on the Stock if you feel like it.

+1 EnergyROM w/ 2.12.50.02 radio works very nicely for me.

Hi Guys MY HTC HD2 has arrived I am excited about getting this dual booting and more so about Android !
I am going to try Chuckys WM ROM combined with MDJ's Android.
32gb mem card already formated to FAT32 downloaded HSPL and boot loader and Radio so all ready to go tonight when I get home from work !
Anything else I need to know ?
Depending on what's already on the phone (assuming it's a new one), you may not need HSPL and then a ROM flash. The latest stock ROM comes with a radio version 2.15.50 which is great for running Android. If that's the case then you'll just need Android and a bootloader (not that you really need a bootloader, but you know what I mean.)
When you turn it on, look for the numbers in the bottom left of the screen. The version number prefixed with an "R" is the radio.
If you do need to upgrade the radio, then your list above is all you'll need.
Enjoy!
Hey guys just thought I would post my experience.
Phone arrived yesterday as I said my phone was running a non compatible android radio so I upgraded to HSPL then upgraded radio to a .50 then used the stock WM6 rom with DROID Sense 0.8 but I found that I could get no WIFI or MObile Data at all.
I then installed MDJ Evolution 1.7 and have been running since yesterday perfectly everything works perfect !
Just some questions:-
How do I backup my data is it just the data.img file I need for all apps downloaded etc ?
I notice that when I synched with my outlook I have multiple contacts i.e. because I have them listed as business card with several contact numbers so I presume there is no way around this ?
Whats the best way to get hotmail on the phone via web browser or is there a windows live type plugin ?
Loving the Android I must say its my first experience with Android anyway but loving the HD2 and Android and the ability to keep WM in case a WM7 ROM surfaces
Thanks for your advice and help on here guys !

Sorry to break your bubble, but there's still no Android that can run from NAND yet, so, no, you cant replace WM with android yet. Devs are working on it, tho. As of now, you can only dual boot WM and Android. Frankly, I love the fact that we can have both OS's, I mean, which other phone can do that as good as our beloved HD2 does? And, we also have Ubuntu, and will soon also have Meego and WP7! The HD2 is THE most versatile phone ever!
i have HTC HD2 T mobile
radio 2.15.50.14
Rom Elegancia V5.0 Final wwe
can i install android dual bot from this post??/
[APP][4/17/11] RunDroid-dual boot to (multi) Android [SD] or WM6

You can use an android sd rom with winmo. I can recommend americandroid.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
yes you can install android to sd. for a list of all android roms for the hd2 listed here on XDA you might want to check out this page. it will tell you if it is a sd version or nand as well as some basic info on each rom.

Just spending five minutes in reading a bit doesn't hurt you know, but we'll help you:
1- SD Android doesn't overwrite windows, you're actually using SD like a phone memory. when you reset you'll be back to WinMo and will have to run Android again.
2- What's working and not working is always mentioned in the original (first) post of every build. From my brief experience with American Android, Wifi, Camera, and GPS are working, you have to try the other features and let the developer know if something isn't working well for you. make sure to post your whole info: HD2 TMo or EU, Radio, What WinMo you're using (not very helpful but wouldn't hurt writing it anyway), and what Android version have you downloaded.
3- As long as the radio is 2.XX.50.XX you're fine.
check your SPL version though, I've never tried Android with SPL 3.X some say it doesn't work.
4- You can dual boot (or triple or even quadruple boot) Android with windows as long as your multiple android builds support having more than one beside them (and a bit of your luck as well) the program is just a shortcut for you not to use FExplorer to run Android :/ so the answer would be yes.
when you run android and have some problems, you can use search because there are many threads to solve almost every problem you'll have with android, one of them being mine (in my signature).

Windows Phone 7 doesnt support ad-hoc networks at the moment. Im not sure if there are any hacks available to enable the feature...maybe there are. Anyway, if you want to flash WP7 and keep an Android SD build, here is the tutorial: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944288
For WP7 itself, just flash it on its own using MAGLDR.
