Adb recognizes it, but TWRP won't install.
"ADB cannot run as root in production builds"
Don't know what's that.
I tried restarting my kindle a few times by holding the power button for 20 seconds. SAD

This would be the best place to ask for help with KFU
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
And you need to provide a bit more info.
Is the kindle getting stuck somewhere or booting fully?

What version are you trying to install twrp on?

Sounds like you're on 6.2.2, follow the guide in the link below, don't reboot, open up Kindle Fire Utility and tell it to install TWRP and tada, flash away.

Couldn't Find "Select the Block-Never Install Unsigned Driver Software button. (Verify that the Make This Action The System Default check box is selected.)
4.Click OK twice."
Under Hardware Tab (Win7 Starter)
It wont ask for drivers and when i try to manually select them it says they are up to date.
it's under something like "driver verification"

maybe some win7 user can help out ?

Nexus 7 ADB works Fastboot does not

Hey XDA! I'm trying to revert from cyanogenmod to stock android and I'm running into what seems to be a driver issue.
I will got through the steps I've done to better explain.
1. Followed Nexus Root Tool Kit driver instructions.
2. Do driver test.
3. ADB passes
4. Fastboot fails
Every time I go into my bootloader my computer says as follows
USB Device Unknown(A request for the USB device descriptor failed.)
Some other information about my deviecs:
Desktop:
Winodws 8 64x
Nexus 7
Cyanogenmod Nightlies
Screenshots:
ADB Passes

You need to update the drivers. I had the same issue. Search xda. There is a thread for this solution. I don't have the link off hand right now.

Nexus 7 2013 bootloop and black screen in bootloader

Hi. Today I was running Gekbench 3 on my Nexus 7 and it froze up and shut down. When I turned it back on the boot animation froze, and it rebooted. When I try to get into the bootloader it goes to a black screen. I cant get the Nexus Toolkit to recognize it. Does anyone else have an idea. Im rooted, and am using TWRP recovery mode.
By bootloader, do you mean when you power up while holding down the Vol- button? (I'm shamefully borrowing someone else's image.)

Do you get USB notification sounds when you connect and disconnect your N7 to a PC? If you're familiar with using fastboot, does it recognize that there's a device connected?

Can't boot VS980 into Download Mode

I'm trying to TOT my VS980 like I have countless times for replacements and for some reason the usual method to get into download mode doesn't want to work. I power the phone off fully, hold the volume up button, then plug in my USB. It says download mode for a moment but then goes to a black screen and my PC opens about 10-15 different windows telling me "I need to format the disk in drive E: before you can use it."

I've tried the usual things, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and haven't had any luck in case its driver/PC related. The phone is currently running DR87s Euphoria 5.1.1 build and I have no issues with ADB working or getting into the devices file system when its booted.
Any suggestions? I've been looking around for quite some time but can't find much on my specific issue.
Right now you have bricked your phone, however all you have to do is download srk tools and unbrick your phone.

[NO ROOT][NO PC] Installing Google Framework(5th Gen Amazon Fire 2015)

So I tried other methods that required having ADB drivers installed and whatnot, however I couldnt get my PC to recognize my Amazon Fire tablet. So I tried installing the APKs one by one.
So this is what I did;
Enable "Unknown Sources" Option
By default this is turned off to prevent you from installing adware/crapware and such by clicking on harmful ads(sometimes they autoclick themselves) in shady websites. e.g kickass.to, xnxx.com and even pornhub.com

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Download em APKs
Get them APKs here: Dropbox
Install them one by one
Using your favorite file browser(I used ES File Explorer coz its on the Amazon Appstore), scroll to the Download folder and click on the APKs one by one to install them. They take fairly long to install. So be patient.
Now you a part of Googles Ecosystem. Enjoy!!!
similar to how i did it also ..
but this was before all the ADB stuff they made..
then i manually turned off all the services i didn't want..
was a pain BUT i didnt want to have to factory reset my Fire
just to do it the easy way .. IE: with the adb script
and have to reinstall all my programs/books, over again
thanks for this post may help some people.
PS: i should note there might be some problems with the way you and i did it
