I saw a tread of amon_ra which explains how to unpack and place all hboot 'inside the modified, but I screwed it up with my htc magic 32A tim,I do not know why I did wrong but I downloaded the file installed hboot 1.33.0013d??-and now I do not know what to do to fix it,I think I have read your post on how to unpack hboot modd and do more but can not find the page.
the phone starts in recovery mode and fastboot mode.
I see sappire pvt 32A ship S-ON G hboot_1.33.0013d (sapp10000)

help please and sorry for the PV bat not I can not write in the forum why not have 10 posts

You are lucky, that your recovery is not broken.
You must change hboot to 1.76.2007 via recovery. Hboot 1.33.0013d is not compatible with common Magic 32A!

1. Download this hboot 1.76.2007: http://www.4shared.com/zip/G3v1xc0I/update-hboot-1762007-signed.html
2. Copy to root of sdcard
3. Go into recovery
4. Choose "flash zip from sdcard", then point to archive and flash
5. Follow instructions on screen
6. When phone will ask to reboot - reboot it, wait two minutes. It it stucks bootlooping - turn off and load into fastboot. Check SPL - your hboot will change.
If you will have errors - post them...

i have downloaded the file and follow your instraction

I have a new problem, I read that I could write a recovery with flash_image via adb. I ran the command falsh_image recovery.img "amonra 1.7.0G.img for magic
reoot bootloader and the result has been to rewrite the recovery, but now it just stays on the logo. I can only use fastboot. help

I finally solved.
I was lucky to find this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20401824#post20401824
thanks Strogino

Glad to see your problem resolved... =)
Note: if you are using radio 6.35.XX.XX you must use recovery AmonRa 1.6.2 patched by cursordroid or CMW-carz2 recovery v4.0.1.4
But if you are using radio 3.22.XX.XX - you must use recovery AmonRa 1.7.0 H
In general: different radio = different recovery

I think the problem that I could not do the flash hboot was partly due to cwm 4.xxx because it gave me this error Amend script (update-script) is no long supported. I'm using now as recovery recovery-RA-magic-v2.0.0.1 +-seo.img and I must say that I am well and with Rom CGX 1.0.5 which I think is the best I've tried. thanks to you that you were the only answer to my request for help.
However not all the silver lining. I learned new things about my phone ... hahahaahah

Can't install RA recovery onto rogers magic - please help

I am using this website, and am at step 6. Everything up to this point has been going well, but i cannot get the recovery image to copy over. BTW I have the recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H.img file i'm using. When I type to push the file to the SDcard, it says, the transfer failed because the file system is read only.
How do I fix this? I've restarted the phone, taken the SD card in and out, i've typed adb remount, and nothing is working.
. Open command prompt and go to the Tools folder in Android SDK that you downloaded to create the gold card.
Assuming that you have not changed the file name of the recovery, use the following commands:
cd C:\AndroidSDk\tools
adb push recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img /sdcard/
adb shell
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img (file name of the recovery you downloaded)
OK, i've got that working, now another problem...
cd C:\AndroidSDk\tools
adb push recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img /sdcard/
adb shell
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img (file name of the recovery you downloaded)
7. After the recovery has been flashed, go to the following link to download the ENG SPL for HTC MAGIC 32A (SPL: 1.76.2007)
http://www.4shared.com/file/21114537...07-signed.html
8. Now copy the SPL to your memory card.
adb push update-hboot-1762007-signed.zip /sdcard/
9. Restart your phone using the home + power key till it boots up into the recovery mode.
(or just type 'adb shell reboot recovery')
10. Using the 'Flash zip file' option from the recovery, select the SPL file from the memory card and flash the HBOOT on your phone
Now i've done most of that, but when I restart into recovery mode, it keeps on randomly rebooting even though I don't want it to. I clicked on 'flash zip file' and it just rebooted right away.
Now when I flashed the recovery, the command prompt said that it did it, BUT nothing happened on my phone, it was just sitting there and didn't say it was doing anything. Could this be a problem?
OK i kept trying, and finally i got it to go into 'flash zip file', I clicked on the correct zip file, but right after clicking the screen went black and it restarted.
Does this sound like it worked? How do I check to confirm if it worked and it's rooted?
Ok I did this, and it said ADB is already running in root in the cmd, so i think i'm good!!!
Thanks!
The easiest way to test if the device is rooted is to open another command prompt in the tools dir and type
adb root
If it returns that adab is already running in root, then you're all set.
So as i said, i installed the sapphire recovery, but now i'm reading on the wiki page that you need the HERO recovery file. I need to change the radio, but then it is saying i needed the HERO recovery.
This is so damn confusing why can't anyone get this all straight and not have so many different and totally contradicting methods.
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.p...agic32A_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod#6.35.x_Radios
The wiki here says to use the HERO recovery, but this thread only gives the sapphire recovery for the HTC magic.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530492
Now to clarify i checked and i think i have successfully rooted, but the specs are this.

I'm told i need to change the radio now before I can install the cyanogen rom, is this true?
I can't find out what to do because no one seems to talk about the 1.76.0008 spl...
Any help?
OK so more playing and more following guides, I installed the HERO recovery tool (1.6.2), and updated the radio to 6.35.10.18, changed my SPL to 1.76.2007, and have my PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H setup.
I'm confused though, because I did all of this work so I can install the lastest cyanogen rom, but it says it can't use this version of the radio... what the hell?
Someone REALLY needs to fix these tutorials to be self consistant.

follow this, got it all done, then go here to get the cyanogen mod...

Here is a link to a test kernel port file for CM 5.0.8 from Brian Crook. This should allow you to run CM using your current Radio. Like I say it's a test port and I haven't tried it but Brian is the one that does all the ports to the Rogers 3.x radios.
http://briancrook.ca/android/testing/
you'll need to download the file bc-5.0.8-6355-ebi1-signed.zip
You would use recovery to flash CM 5.0.8 then flash this kernel port file. After that don't forget to flash the gapps package that should be linked in one of the URL's that you already posted or you can get it here http://kanged.net/mirror/download.php?file=gapps-ds-ERE36B-signed.zip
PLEASE NOTE
Do not change your radio from it's current 6.x version without flashing the matching SPL for the new radio. If you fail to flash the SPL/Radio combination correctly you WILL brick your phone.

Sorry my english is very bad. I tried to root my phone image by replacing''Recovery''to step flash recovery fastboot boot.img boot.img''is the new image can not load MSDOS reported "boot.img''boot file. dc img has put in SKD / tools, and do not know the new Image download file decompression is necessary or is not simply rename a DC? I leave it renamed unsuccessfully boot.img

I have no idea about your error, but you can't flash recovery.img unless you have an engineering SPL (which you'd have to root to acquire).
Please boot your phone holding home and vol- and post what's displayed on the screen.

i had a similiar problem with yours. stuck in the recovery img and spl issue. my actual statu is a rooted phone with a cutom recovery img but with the original spl and radio(about to change those too).
this is how i did:
as far as i've learned, u dont need to flash your spl in order to flash your recovery.
i intalled FlashRec.apk and then installed RA recovery img from it. there a video on youtube called how to root your magic in one click. try that!
goodluck!
Looks like you have a Rogers Magic, correct?
You have S-ON (security on) so you can't flash anything useful from fastboot.
I use a 32B device, so hopefully a fellow Rogers user can help you :-/

That will work on some 1.5 builds, 4zroot and universal androot are newer alternatives.

if you follow the way of''recovery''Amon_RA img instead only image recovery platforms, the need of the SDK is not it? I think I have not installed successfully because when you type the command ADB ADB device only shows up on MSDOS''attached''List of devices without the S / N of my phone

Just because the backup failed, doesn't mean your recovery is gone. Use home+power and tell us if it's still there.
"adb devices" will show the serial number of all attatched devices, you have it set up correctly. However you can not use adb or fastboot to root your device.

That's a *****, you could try another root method like universal androot to get to flash the custom recovery image.

Why are you using the 3.22 radio? That's probably the cause of your problems. I don't know off hand which radios work with that SPL but I'll look into it and provide some feedback when I get a second.
EDIT: Some reading to get you started. My suggestion would be to upgrade to the 1.33.0013d SPL and 2.22.27.08 radio. Let me know if you want to and I'll post some instructions for ya. Like that thread says...do not flash the 6.35 radio and that's purely a 32A radio. The radio your running can work for both.

So the SPL and the radio you suggest would work with the cyanogen rom? and yes please post the instructions that would be a HUGE help!
Thank you so much in advance!
also I know this is a little off topic but would the official cyanogen mod be good for a daily or should I go with something else like yoshi? Im just looking for realiability and speed
No worries. Yeah, they'll work. This will require you to have AndroidSDK installed.
1. Download this file and extract the two files inside to the AndroidSDK "Tools" folder.
2. Download this recovery and also put it in the AndroidSDK "Tools" folder.
3. Boot your phone into fastboot mode (back+power) and plug it into your computer.
4. Open a command prompt from the "Tools" folder. (If you have Windows 7, just hold shift and right-click in the folder, then click "Open command window here")
5. Type the following commands in:
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio-2.22.27.08.img
fastboot flash hboot hboot-1.33.0013d.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
You should then have the 1.33.0013d SPL/2.22.27.08 radio combo, and can then boot into recovery and install CM.
Should I format the sd card before doing any of this and should I do the superwipe (I read a little about it) at any point in this process
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
No need to reformat and you can flash Ohsaka's Superwipe before installing the ROM, but you can do all this without it.
do I need to make any partitions for the cyanogen mod?

You need to flash the 2708 kernel. A search will get it for you. If not I'll provide a link when I get home.
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
I installed yoshi just fine and it seems ok but the keyboard seems a bit laggy. I dont know if I should try the cyanogen instead. The phone is for my girlfriend and I want it to be a fun phone since its her introduction to android. What rom would you recommend
CM 5.0.8 is what I've got running on my wife's phone. It only runs 2.1 but it's very stable and about as smooth as it gets.
The files needed can be found here: CyanogenMod 5.0.8-DS
Google Add-on for CM 5.0.8
And if you get stuck in the bootloop again, go back into recovery and flash this guy: New Kernel for New Radio's
Also to note, before flashing any ROM, I would suggest flashing Ohsaka's SuperWipe. Just flash the file, select the "Reboot" option, and hold down the home button to boot back into recovery. You can download it from here. This replaces the need to wipe from recovery and does a little bit better job, plus it hits some places that recovery doesn't.
Thank you for all your help, Ill be trying out the cyanogen rom soon!
Ok I have a huge problem Please somebody help!
I worked with the yoshi rom for a while but it started giving me problems so I decided to try the cyanogen... this is where it all went downhill
Looking at post #12
-I downloaded the cyanogen mod from the link and installed it in recovery. I got a boot loop
-I downloaded the new kernel/radios from the link and istalled it in recovery. I got the cyanogen x animation but it looped
-I realized I forgot to superwipe so I downloaded that from the link and installed in recovery. after that I installed cyanogen again and was back at the "HTC Magic" loop.
-next I searched for the 2708 kernel that was mentioned on page one, I found it on a random site and installed it in recovery. Now Im stuck at the htc magic screen and I dont know what else to do
Somebody Please help!
ok so I tried it all again and it worked!
Only problem now is that the camera wont work... is that a common issue

You can follow leith51's radio flashing guide in the android development subforum (sticky). Or as previously stated, you can wait until Rom manager works again.
Use this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18138289/recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.6-ace.img in step 5, you can rename that file for convenience (to for example recovery.img).
Then in step 8, use command: "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
thank you for answering me
and this steps which you said about it (flashing Radio by leith51)
i have used before(and again again) and that what i get from CMD

Where did you get Amon RA? I have not seen that for Desire HD, are you sure that you are trying to flash a proper recovery??
Radio S-OFF is not ENG S-OFF, please verify your device's state by going to bootloader. Check the first line, it should read ACE PVT ENG S-OFF if you indeed have ENG S-OFF.

I was able to root the phone with s1c, load the clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.7 and then flash "update-cm-6.1.0-DS-signed.zip" successfully. But then I get a boot loop. I attempted to flash a new kernal, which flashed "successfully", but I still get a boot loop. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Since I'm not sure the exact process you took I'd recommend the following:
(its a bit longer procedure to install 1.33.0013d that may help in future if you ever get stuck.. if you never get stuck it will work as well as staying on 1.33.0013 thus no harm)
To anyone else reviewing this this is a procedure from the above specs with clockwork recovery installed to install CM6.1 with a 2708+ kernel
1) choose wipe data/factory reset;
2) plug the phone into your USB and chose 'mount USB storage' from the 'mounts and storage' menu
3) On this post: Get update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip (from the '== Switching from 1.33.0013 to 1.33.0013d ==' section) some background of the 2.22.28.25 SPL and the 1.33.0013/d SPL is also on this thread
4) Get ezBiffTestKernel20110222-2708_S.zip from either the files section in the 2708+ thread or here (there are other places and kernels that mat work for you but this is a good place to start)
5) put both update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip and ezBiffTestKernel20110222-2708_S.zip on your sdcard
6) unmount the drive on your PC, and in recovery choose advanced -> Reboot recovery
7) flash update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip
At this point the phone will automatically reboot back into recovery do not attempt to manually reboot; also NEVER pull the battery when flashing an SPL or radio
8) when you are in recovery again choose more go to the mounts and storage menu and choose 'format system' then 'format data'
Now your system is clean, we have switched the SPL and we can re-install cleanly
9) flash update-cm-6.1.0-DS-signed.zip
10) flash ezBiffTestKernel20110222-2708_S.zip

Worked like a charm! Thanks very much.
Ok, hopefully this will be my last problem:
I downloaded gapps from here:
forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/5385-rom-cyanogenmod-6-for-desire-ojneverdie-v602-09262010/
But it only installs gmail and I can't seem to get android market. Any help would be great, thanks!
edit: got market working...thanks again!
can't flash update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip (bad)
Hi,
I know this is an older post but, I have the same phone and am having the same problem.
HTC T-Mobile MyTouch 3G

HBOOT- 1.33.0013(SAPP30000)

I also unlocked with s1c, downloaded ROM manager and flashed CWM recovery. I also tried to flash update-cm-6.1.0-DS-signed.zip which reported successful but then got stuck in a bootloop on the splash page. The only thing the OP tried that I didn't was flashing a different kernel. I've tried multiple time in both CWM and RA recovery with the same result and having to restore from my Nand backup.
Like a good noob I've been scouring xda and the web for solutions with clear instructions. Was delighted to find this post and instructions that obviously worked for another device with specs just like mine.
I've read and reread the instructions and the linked post, followed them exactly but when I get to the part where I flash update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip I get:
"can't open update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip (bad)"
"Installation aborted"
I've tried twice with two different SD cards redownloading the zip each time, same result. I've searched the forums but can't find anything that would give me a clue as to why.
I'd really like to run cyanogenmod 6.1 on this phone but nothing seems to work (at least I haven't bricked it yet)
Can I (should I) skip the update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip step? I'd really like to be able to use fastboot though. Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance

So after closer examination I found the update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip from the link above is corrupted. I found a good version on an external site (megaupload) for anyone following the proceedure above, just google the filename to find an uncorrupted version.
Otherwise everthing worked fine, except after booting the new spl it rebooted into the reset rom. I had to go through setup and reinstall ROM manager to reflash cwm recovery and go from there.
Thanks for the useful and reliable instructions all.
Paddy
