no... he not read instructions and not set MAGLDR right...
- Flash HSPL 2.08 if needed
- Flash MAGLDR 1.13
- in MAGLDR use:
* 10. Services, 4. UseLast24NAND
* 10. Services, 5. ClearSD MDR
* 5. USB Flasher and run DWI.exe to flash ROM
- do hard reset (Settings - About - reset my phone)

the earlier roms missed out on some files,
replace these files in your rom folder,
lnstall by launching DWI.exe as administrator (right click)

[Q] Error Description: USB init failed

i keep getting the Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (723). is there any way to get around this error?
edit: credit goes out to guinhill he pointed me to the solution. first make sure your log in name in windows has administrator rights. then before you try to flash an android rom with magldr make sure that you disable all usb connections in active sync before you attempt to flash an android rom. i now have android running beautifully on my hd2.
me too.
1- Load Android Flasher mode.
2- Connect USB cable from PC to phone.
3- You should see MAGLDR with ‘Wait USB…USB’.
4- Go to control panel and then ActiveSync.
5- Uncheck allow USB connections.
6- Then execute DAF.

[Q] MAGLDR Readme.txt is mising

I get to run the DAF.exe, and when i hit next it says "Readme.txt for this release is missing."
Then it says
An error has occurred

Error Description: Config load failed.

Error Description: CONFIG: can't open config file

What does all this mean, and what can I do, cause its not letting me flash my rom! Please Help!
I get the same problem there is a notepad file in the folder though does anyone have any idea why this might be so? Thank you so much in advance - best wishes
Aimee
Not trying to run it still zipped up are you?
I got the same thing....awwwwww
If you want to install MAGLDR on your device you have to execute the ROMUpdateUtility and not DAF.
I have the same problem!! Any fix for it now??
After you setup mgldr DONT TOUCH DAF. EXE in the mgldr folder. I had the same problem. This is a misconception caused by the tutirial. If you come to this step you just succeeded to setup mgldr. Now go and get a rom of your choice and get its instructions and flash it.

Hi,
The easiest way to install magldr and other various necessities,is using
THIS TOOL
I have the same issue: but all the solutions say: "If you want to install MAGLDR on your device you have to execute the ROMUpdateUtility and not DAF."
I have magldr running on the HD2 AFTER running ROMUpdateUtility BUT running DAF still comes up with Readme.txt missing, can't find config files.. etc blah blah..
Yes I run it as Adminstrator.:
SO:
1) Why is the readme.txt missing in the first place from the Magldr zip file.
2) How does the config files get created. (are they automatic or when ROMUpdateUtility is ran)??
Why are you running the daf in magldr folder if magldr is already installed? There is no situation where you need to run the daf in the magldr folder.
Because in the forum thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
In Section 2 Note 3: States to run DAF..????
=========================================
2. FLASH YOUR ANDROID ROM
The Original NAND Android Thread by Cotulla is *HERE*
NOTE1: This section is only applicable AFTER you have flashed MAGLDR to your Device
NOTE2: Make sure your phone is still connected via usb cable before starting
* When your phone Reboots it will Enter the MAGLDR Boot Menu Screen *
1. Press the 'Volume Down' button to goto Option 5: USB Flasher and press the 'Call' button (far left of the 5 hardware buttons at the bottom)
2. The menu will enter Android Flasher mode and install usb drivers if not present
3. Browse to the folder you extracted your NAND Android Package files to on your pc, right click on Run DAF.exe (or Install.exe if DAF.exe isnt present) and select Run as Administrator
4. Read ALL the text and then select 'Next'
5. Read the information and select 'Next'
6. The installer will now detect USB and then flash your Android Rom to NAND
* You can follow this progress on your Phones Screen *
7. When flashing is complete your phone will Reboot and proceed to boot Android from NAND
========================
This guide was suppose to be a guide for us newbeeeeesss!?
LOL
That's why I run DAF.. because I have ROMS in zip format.
That would be referring to the daf.exe that comes with daf style roms, not the daf.exe in the magldr folder.
Those are old style roms, and there aren't many of them left. If a rom is daf style it comes with its own daf.exe
Normally you would
Flash magldr (done)
Flash clockworkmod with the required partition size
Put the zipped rom on SD card
Start clockworkmod
Choose "instal zip from SD"
Job done.
Excellent - thank you.
So if I then want to revert back to the Windows 6.5 stock ROM - Do I reset the partition back to 512Mb?
No, just flash the rom, it will take care of the wiping itself.
OK, I just tried re-installing MAGLDR after a task29 and had the same errors. In the end I used HD2 Toolkit which did the job, but still this is strange: It worked flawlessly the first time I installed it, but not today.
No point reinstalling magldr, since task 29 doesn't touch magldr or radio or spl/hspl.

Good to know. Damn, I re-installed radio & magldr, never thought of checking if they are still there. LOL.

Many thanks
Tried on my laptop seems to be ok but yuki latest rom is very slow to install.

The same thing appear on my HD2,just re-flash the MAGLDR , ver 1.12 or above
I have a problem.
Installed Windows 7 x64
off Skype
Or here is a picture so you will see what it is about.

[q] typical error, i know, but my useless weekend brain can't connect the dots

To save time, the question is TRYING TO FLASH A ICS BETA10 NAND TO AN HD2 LEO ... WHAT DO I DO NEXT?... if you're interested read on!
Well first a death row pardon request to the experienced readers who will probably think "man this is all around why don't you do a search"
I've read lots of posts and either there are many misinterpretations for questions asked or my myelin is severely endangered.
CURRENT STEP BY STEP PROGRESS:
1) Downloaded files (MAGLDR 1.13 / HARDSPL4 / RADIO 2.xx.50.xx / ICS BETA10)
2) Installed HARDSPL 2.08.HSPL
3) Installed radio 2.xx.50 (The one recommended in XDA post)
4) Successfully flashed MAGLDR 1.13 (downloaded from 3 different sources and tried them in order to be sure the file wasn't corrupt)
5) Successfully linked USB from MAGLDR (i see the ***Wait USB...USB*** line)
Now when i run the DAF.exe in the MAGLDR 1.13 folder and click NEXT it shows:
****Readme.txt for this release is missing.****
... and when I click next:
****An error has occurred
Read below for more information
Error Description: Config load failed.
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (725)
Error Description: CONFIG: can't open config file

QUESTION: WHAT DO I DO NEXT?
NOTES THAT MIGHT BE USEFUL FOR THE WISE:
a) I tried from 2 different computers (32 and 64 bits JIC)
b) When I turn the phone on, before the phone boots into MAGLDR i get a red BOOT FROM SD KERNEL FALIED... maybe it's normal as there is no SD but maybe it need to be pointed it out.
thanks for your help!
pull batt out.Hold back and power button. You will see magldr screen, keep buttons pressed.then youll see numbers on yours screen.relese buttons, with vol down button go to number 5(usb flaser),press call button and then flash recovery(you will find this in hd2 tools(down left repartition button) and choose recovery size what is described in rom thread.
---------- Post added at 07:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:13 PM ----------

You don't have the config.cfg file that holds the partitioning information.
Anyway, forget it. There is a better (and easier) way to install the recovery.
You know, there is this little tool .. that was created by this intelligent dev.. where you can select the size .. the size of the system partition you want .. oh oh and also, also the cache partition .. without the hassle of modifying the config.cfg . And guess what? the tool is right here. [Thank you, Ksubedi]
Simply, go to USB flasher on MAGLDR and start it. On your PC, install that tool. And from the panel at the top choose MAGLDR Update Recovery & click "update" on the panel at the bottom. After it finishes, go to USB flasher again and start it. Now on your pc, select "MAGLDR Repartition" and from left panel choose "200mb" and right below it type "10mb" . (These numbers vary depending on the rom you are to install). And finally hit "Repartition" from the panel at the bottom.
After that, simply go to MAGLDR and select option #8 "8. AD Recovery" and flash your rom from there .
I hope I haven't missed anything, and have a nice day.
You have installed magldr allready?
If so, you don't do again daf.exe in magldr, because magldr is allready installed.
You have to download recovery, and edit flash.cfg file (with notepad) as you need for your rom.
Afterwards start daf.exe from recovery folder..
to point b, this is normal, because you don't have installed any ROM..
And have fun
BRILLIANT Marvlesz!!!
Thank you, i will then add a "simplified step by step" so that the big picture is clear. So to make it more explicit for people having the same problem:
Situation at the time of the post:
1) Downloaded files (MAGLDR 1.13 / HARDSPL4 / RADIO 2.xx.50.xx / ICS BETA10)
2) Installed HARDSPL 2.08.HSPL
3) Installed radio 2.xx.50 (The one recommended in XDA post)
4) Successfully flashed MAGLDR 1.13 (downloaded from 3 different sources and tried them in order to be sure the file wasn't corrupt)
5) Successfully linked USB from MAGLDR (i see the ***Wait USB...USB*** line)
After problem:
6) Downloaded HD2 Toolkit
7) While on USB FLASHER mode (option 5 on MAGLDR) and within HD2 Toolkit on PC:
a.Click on "MAGLDR UPDATE RECOVERY" > click UPDATE > a cmd will prompt > press enter > should say "Daemon started successfully"
b.Click on "MAGLDR REPARTITION" > set 200MB on PARTITION > set CACHE SIZE to 10MB (careful, may vary depending on the rom you are using) > click REPARTITION > should be some action on the phone
8) Copy downloaded ROM to sd card (the .zip file as it is) and reboot the phone
9) On the MAGLDR select 8.AD RECOVERY > INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD
10) Select the ROM you just copied onto the SD card > Once installation is done (it will show on the screen) navigate back on the MAGLDR menu and choose REBOOT SYSTEM NOW
Give it 2 or 3 minutes to start and you're DONE!

uh...he already has magdlr installed..doh! read how to flash a hd2 first....see links in signature. when you get into magdlr select 5. usb flasher...this initiates the usb link with the flasher on the pc. also, everything needs to be run as admin.
only thing to add is go into magdlr select 10. services, 5. clearmbr, 4. uselast24nand before flashing wp7...this is critically important!!!
run as administrator, think thats where you are going wrong, right click and goto compatability and select run as administrator...that worked for me.
RUN as Admin...

Of course that resolved it for me too! I always forget about that "little detail"
Thanks for the reminder.
