Kindle Fire IRC

Freenode is being a tad picky bout their policy for naming channels (IE, can't use # namespace), so a few of us are going to move over to using AndIRC which is part of TeamAndIRC ran by our Rooter, Jcase.
Here is information if you would like it, or a URL.

If you need support for your fire, cmon over.
I think this thread should be stickied.

LOL
Seems suspect of what, exactly? Maybe he's just a big fan of Amazon. shravbits has been a helpful member of this community for quite some time so I'm pretty sure he's not some corporate spy, if that's what you're insinuating.

I was thinking the same thing shravbits has been around for a while. I would consider them credible

You could not be more correct. Jumped the gun before I took the next necessary step to view profile. My apologies.

8.9" HDX What to do...?

I am getting a 2013 Kindle Fire HDX 8.9" 16GB, Thats Blacklisted but never turned on to WiFi.
Is there a safe and working normal Android ROM out that works for it? ANYTHING but that crap Amazon has on it please...
I have rooted my cell phones in the past but never a ROM change...
All it takes is about 5 minutes of reading to glance over the threads we have root but no roms yet

Careful, you might be accused of "insulting" someone

Something needs to be done

As many of us know, there is a serious problem at hand that needs to be dealt with. The Kindle Fire HD 7" 2012 edition forums are being polluted with posts about the Kindle Fire HD 7" 2013 edition. Although these devices have similar hardware, they are NOT the same device. It might be okay if it were just a few posts, but this is getting ridiculous.
My proposed solution is for a new forum area to be created for the 2013 Kindle Fire HD 7" and to have all posts regarding them to be moved there.

I hear that. I posted a link in my signature to help guide people but seems lots of people have bought them recently. Not long ago I tugged a mods ear about this and the response was, basically, they would see about it but we're busy. I know a month ago it was a different scene for this table. I hope the powers that be will get something worked out, given it's increase in popularity.

There also seems to be some confusion on this device with the KF2. There has to be a better method of filtering these posts... I'm not slamming anyone here, I'm just saying...

It is really strange in my opinion how the HD7/8.9/KF2 got put in correctly, but the HDX7/8.9/HD2 did not get organized properly in regards to forums.
Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
The forum is really getting flooded with people who are trying all sorts of things that the KFHD is not capable of doing yet. Amazon is about to get flooded with bricked KFHD 2013.

Maybe that's the idea. Maybe it's XDA's way of pissing off Amazon.

Lol. Protesting the locked bootloaders. If Amazon gets too many complaints of bricked devices, maybe they'll take off the restriction. XD

Agreed! If I bought a KFHD(2013) and come to this forum to try and modify it, I'd be like WTF am I suppose to start at ?? :what::banghead::sly: I'd most likely get myself bricked in the end lol
