Hey guys. I just bought my HD2 today and I have flashed HTC phones before.
This is a TMOBILE 1024LEO phone so I connected it to ActiveSync and installed HSPL 1024. After installing it I loaded the CustomRUU and installed "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe". This installed 100% and my phone powered off after it was complete. Since then I have not been able to get the phone to respond. I believe I bricked it? But I don't see why I can't even get the bootloader to load when powered off. I've tried holding the volume down button and pressing the power button. Holding the volume down button and pressing the soft reset button. Holding both volume buttons and pressing the power button. None of these get it to respond. Any ideas?

its dead.
flashing a 1.66 rom alone would have been recoverable, but that rom you chose also includes a radio, because it is an official rom, and that radio is 2.06.51.07, , and what happens when you flash a radio with .51. in it?
Correct, brick.
So far no one has been able to fix it, some have taken it back and gotten a replacement.
Sorry to be the harbinger of doom.
(One of the very few actual known ways to really brick the hd2, in spite of the fact that half the daily new threads say 'OMG brick!')
Throw it in the bin?
From the TMOUS HD2 flashing thread...
Not all ROMs are compatible with 1024LEO, including old official ROMS.
Official 1.42 and 1.66 WON'T WORK on LEO1024, because there is no 1024 NAND memory support.
All custom ROMs which ARE NOT BASED ON 2.08+ T-Mobile ROMs WON'T WORK ON 1024LEO.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT flash any Rom unless it states in the 1st post that its compatable with the 1024LEO or the chef confirms its safe to flash on a 1024LEO. If you flash a Rom with a Base version before 2.08 then you will most likely brick your phone. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!
IF YOU ARENT ABSOLUTELY SURE THEN DONT FLASH IT!!
[...]
IMPORTANT: Do not flash ANY Radio before 2.07.x or the 2.09.51.03 Radio or you could damage your phone!!
IMPORTANT: Make sure the Radio you flash is FULLY compatable with the US HD2 before flashing.
IF YOU ARENT ABSOLUTELY SURE THEN DONT FLASH IT!!

You just got a brand new brick. Read the instructions next time...
so there is nothing that I can do to get the phone in bootloader mode even when powered off? I don't understand why that isn't possible.
and btw when I connect the phone to a computer via USB, it tries to install software for "QUALCOMM CDMA TECHNOLOGIES MSM". idk if that helps

all it helps it to confirm that you have the 'it no longer goes to bootloader or power on and shows up as qualcomm (if it shows up at all, some dont) on the PC' problem.
Sorry, but if you look through the tmo us thread there are a few dozen people it has happened to.
here you go, some reading

Nope, it's completely bricked. No ones figured out a way to recover from flashing the wrong radio on the tmous hd2. You're not the first to do it and try to find a fix.
okay guys thanks for the input. I should have been more careful in selecting a ROM! I am taking it back to the tmobile store tomorrow and saying that it just stopped working randomly =D

maybe they won't believe you, but they have no way to prove you're lying, so... even if this kind of attitude will eventually make producers release way stricter warranty policies so in the end maybe everyone will pay for the lightheartedness of the few
or maybe they'll look at their returns pile, figure out how to boot them, leak the process and we can fix it ourselves!
Well if you do brick the phone, their has to be a way to reverse. I'm pretty sure people at HTC know how to do it. I doubt they jus throw these phones away they refurbish it, so there has to be a way to put the stock rom back.
HTC has the bootloader code so they probably have a way to flash it back.
My HD2 turned a few heads at work and a dedicated iPhone owning gadget fan just had to have one. It failed within a day and he returned it for a refund. He was given a new one, and here's my point, had to sign a document agreeing to pay nearly £800 (yes, £800 - that's what the shop charges for a PAYG HD2) if it was later found that the failure was due to abuse, including the use of illegal software. When I read that I was certain they were referring to cooked ROMs. I guess HTC (and the repair shop, perhaps) can tell what's on a phone, even if there isn't a fix and they have to change a board or even throw away the phone. There's a company that can recover iPAQs that have suffered a similar fate. They were doing this before iPAQ 21x cooking became popular. I wonder if such s service exists for HTC devices, or whether such a recovery service is possible with the right tools.
Personally, I'd love to try some of the ROMs on this site but I'm sticking to simple customizations. I'm in no way a WM novice. I just can't justify risking an expensive device. I even avoid official updates if I'm not having problems. Ironically, I've had 4 iPAQs die on me without messing sigh the ROM. I'd be tempting fate.
Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do. I hope you get to enjoy an HD2.

As long as your PC is attempting to load the Qualcom CDMA driver...
I have a 1024 Tmo HD2 and I always stick to NRGroms from my TP to TP2 and now HD2 (cyanogen is by far the besy for my Nexus or most other android phones). I decided to flash the Artemis Rom and Bricked my device. It worked at first but once the battery died it would start up. So i figured the usb driver must be incompatable because it wouldnt charge. I was able to get Tmo to replace my HD2 device but didnt want to have to pay the $100 charge they charge if they find the device has been tampered with (not only physically, but software too. SSPL, HSPL, custom ROMs, etc.). Been charged before so they do check.
My point is once they sent me the replacement device, I used the new HD2 to charge my battery to see if it was the usb port not charging. Once the new phone charged the battery and I plugged the HD2 into my PC i received the same message saying attempting to install that Qualcomm CDMA message and the driver would not install. I ended up figuring out the issue but it will take having another HD2. Call Tmo and have one sent to you through warranty not insurance and it will be free. I even complained about not having a top quality phone i paid for to use my service and they upgraded to free expedited shipping. So Dial 611 now. Then just get those drivers using the new 1024.
First make sure to turn on the replacement device and open Mobile device center and plug in the device to get the standard driver. Once you get the standard driver, unplug the new HD2 and plug in your bricked device trying to get the same Qual CDMA driver. Now the driver install should complete. Now since you have an incorrect driver id recommend flashing to the Stocl 1024 ROM cause this will update your device to the correct driver and ROM so you wont be charge when you send back your old bricked device.
Now once you reflash your new HD2 just stick to these 2 simple steps.
1. HSPL with the 1024 version (HSPL2_1024_RUN)
2. Only use NRGroms for your Tmo LEO (http://bit.ly/HD2-NRGroms)
If this does not work just send back the HD2 that is bricked and you get a replacement for only $100 charge. Better than having the most awesome paperweight. Also make sure to use the same usb port used to install the primary driver. And dont be afraid to try running the new HSPL on your bricked phone cause that is what actually allowed my bricked phone to comunicate with my PC, then my bootloader driveer installed. I know this is alot of jabber but just ask if you have any questions. My boys brying now so gotta go...

HI GUYS.
i flash my hd2 using the correct software. on my phone it said it had 2.8 soemthing and the program that flash my hd2 flashed it to 2.8
after that i did the custom rom and it completed sucessfully but at the end the phone went off and a message came something about the qwalcomm driver being missing. since yesterday my phone would not power on or even show any signs of being charge. at the time of the flasing and everything i had a 100 percent battery. what can i do. i try to reset it and by accident i did not know which was the reset on the back and accidentally pushed a whole where it says void. im afraid to take it to the store and they would see that whole where it says void has been touched. any suggesions of what to do. thank you
Gentlemen,
i need your attention and help here. I have t-mobile HTC HD2 and its out of warranty. it was going all fine with windows phone 6.5 - then i upgraded to windows phone 7. i didnt like windows phone 7 because of its limited features.
i wanted to get back to windows phone 6.5 and i didnt have original 6.5 ROM, so I downloaded from here "htcpedia.com/news/official-htc-hd2-wm6_5-rom.html"and downloaded "Official WM6.5 ROM - HTC HD2 (Leo) - English GCC Version this version"
after upgrading successfully - the phone went off. i tried to turned it on but nothing happened.
now i have tried many things as under:
1. Soft reset
2. Hard reset
3. Battery - Sim card - memory card out
but it is not turning on at all. when i attach it with USB cable to my PC. no light of charging turns on.
can anyone help me out how to get it working again or its just wasted
please help.
regards,
Mudassar Rasul
you have bricked you HTC HD2
happened to me and had to get another 1.
there is a 100 dollar fix(what i did).
I bough a HTC HD2 with a broken glass (make sure it works) for 90 bucks and got a toolkit online and made 1 out of two.
worked for me hopefully works for you...
you mean - its useless now
Ouch, not good. I fear that you've downloaded an european version of the rom which included a radio rom whose version ends with 50_XX and TMobile users can only use radios that have 51_XX.
Can you boot to the bootloader by pressing power button while holding the volume down key? If not I fear that you've bricked it
No, i cannot go to Bootloader, nothing happens when i press Power Button with vol up/down keys. but one thing - when it plug the USB into PC - the PC makes a sound that USB is attached now. it means by there are still some breathes inside HD2.

because this rom is including the bad radio for your device which is 2.05.51.05_2.
T-MO users should not flash any earlier radio than 2.07.xx.xx, OR you will end up with the dead device.
it does mention in this guide from mskip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614

Thanks for the info
Does that mean I'm stuck?
Yes, i'm afraid you are stuck. One should always read a bit before flashing. When the TMUS HD2 came out all custom ROM''s were marked as compatible or incompatible. That was done for a reason. The american HD2 is the same device as the european HD2, but has more NAND and a different radio chip because of T-Mobile's odd 3G freqencies in the USA. And flashing a european radio to this chip will in fact brick it.
Maybe the 100$ solution earlier in the thread is not that bad.

UPDATE***
Hi,
I just wanted to give an update on my situation.
I called HTC and told them my phone wouldn't turn out and requested a repair
after five minutes, the customer service representative ask for my HD2 serial number and began the process for setting up a RMA for me. They took down my information(name, address, email, phone number) and told me I had to ship to texas for repair. The rep also said someone would contact me if they found a problem that wasn't covered under warranty and I would then have the option to accept the repair and would pay out-of-pocket to get the problem fix or reject it but in case they do find a problem that's covered under warranty they wouldn't contact me but instead go through with whatever repair is needed.
After a few days, I got a email from HTC saying that they received the HD2 and they were evaluating the phone for repair. Shortly after they I got another email saying repairs have been completed and the unit was being shipped back to me with a tracking# from FedEx.
I then called HTC about the the repair status and they told me they repair has been completed and they switched out the motherboard. Pretty awesome I must say Thanks HTC!
Hello,
I recently bought a HTC HD 2 Tmobile from ebay .
The phone will not boot up.
When i start up the phone it leads me to the windows start up to the tmobile start up then back to the windows start up and stays there and i cannot do anything except take out the battery.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you are stuck in a boot loop. There is a few things you can try.
First check the battery pins and make sure you do not have any that are bent out of alignment with the others or that is being hindered in anyway.
Next you can download the official Windows Mobile ROM from T-Mobile. You will have to enter the IMEI number, look under the battery for it. Once downloaded you can try to flash it via USB. Just put your HD2 into the bootloader by holding down the volume down button while powering on your HD2 and then connect it to your computer via USB cable. You will have to have Windows Mobile Device Center or Active Sync installed on your computer so you can get the USB Sync connection you need. Go to here to find a link to both, just choose the one you need for the type of windows you use. Anyway once you have your HD2 in bootloader and connected the serial in the bottom white bar of bootloader should change to USB, this means you have the USB Sync connection. When you see the USB you can right click on the ROM you downloaded from T-Mobile and run it as administrator. I do suggest you let your HD2 stay off and charge for a little while first though to make sure you have more than a 50% charge.
If that does not work you can try running a Task 29 and then repeating the above mentioned steps to flash the ROM again.
If this does not fix your problem you probably have hardware issues causing the boot loop.
Thank you so much for the reply. I will try the things you have listed. Even though i am a bit lost haha. If these steps dont work , what are some of the hardware issues that may be the cause of this? And i know this is random but can you help me load android onto my hd2? I have 2 2gb micro sd cards do i have to get a bigger card? Which android os would you recommend? Thats quick and smooth? Thx!

the hardware issue would be overheating cpu, have to get a new main board via HTC warranty (if it is not voided due to water damage or dropped).
Android is easy to load. Fast/smooth you want a CyanogenMod7 ROM, you can find versions for SD or versions that you flash on the phone itself. You can either run Windows Mobile 6.5 then laucnch Android from SD (dual-boot), launch Android from SD with no Windows Mobile, launch Android flashed from internal storage, or flash Windows Phone 7 to internal storage and run Android from SD (dual-boot).
The tutorials are all in the HD2 Android forums and HD2 WP7 forums.
initially I would try a hard reset before getting too technical.
hold down volume up and down and switch on. keep holding volume buttons, when prompted press volume up. this will restore to out of he box settings ie remove all previous data on the phone.

As far as hardware issues go it is like XDA member orangekid said overheating is the predominant reason that comes to mind. Another thing is degraded prossesor connection or degradated flash/NAND chip connections. All of witch can only be fixed by main board replacement.
Yes I can help you "load" Android onto your HD2, just click the guide link ed in my Sig. I think everything you need to know is there. well except how to run Android fro SD card, hmmm maybe I should add that. Also you can go here for more links to very useful threads in the Android General Stickie Roll up thread.
Again I have to agree with XDA member orangekid, the CyanogenMod7 ROMs are pretty creaking awesome. But I do recomend the Hyperdroid ROM I have linked in my Sig. I have used it for my daily driver for months and the only real problem I have had is the latest update to the ROM the new updated market would not work properly I would have to go to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications. Then find the market selerct it and then select Uninstall Updates. Oh and make sure you do not have the check box checked to aromatic update the market or you will have to do this everytime you use the market. I am currently testing the [17 Aug][SENSE3.0] Pyramid HTC WWE 1.35.401.1 - Real 3D [V2.1][RAF 1.9GB] ROM to sort of test the HTC Sensation's ROM and to check out HTC Sense 3.0.
As for your 2gig SD card no it will work but I do recomend you consider getting a 4 gig SD card. I have heard mixed results from 2 gig SD cards that people use to dual boot with. I personally have never used under a 4 gig SD card and have never had any trouble.
Thank you all for your replies.
I will Try out all the steps to fix my phone first. then i will try to load up android onto it and i will get back to you guys. i thanked all that have helped thank you so much. i will be back around sunday or monday with an update. wish me luck! oh one more question. would a 8gb be a good size micro sd card? or should i get a 16gb?
It really depends on how much space you'll think you'll need like, are you a person who takes a lot of pics or video, do you keep a lot of music on your phone? If you do then yes I would go with an 8gb. If not then you could really just use a 4gb sd card. I use a 8gb class 10 sd card myself and store a lot of pics, roms and backups and I haven't had the need to go back to a 16gb. Also you dont have to get a high speed card either, a class 4-6 is plenty.
If you decide to go the dual boot for Android I would look up a program found here on XDA called Rundroid. It will allow you to run many different Android builds from your sd card and is very simple to use. I would give the link but I'm not by a computer right now, sorry about that.

Hiii just an update . i did try to hard reset and it does reset but after i reset when it reboots it stays on the tmobile stick together logo.
and i just noticed if i leave it on like this and leave the battery the phone starts to get warm a bit on the back bottom side of the phone.
i will try the steps you gave me and see if it works. thanks.
I tried to restore by volume down+up and power and it reset but no boot. Pleasse help any one. i tried to do the bootloader ( my computer doesnt reconize my phone) it shows me all these codes. any help?
Heres a vid of my phone if it helps.

I dont want to comment on something and be wrong so with that I would take it to t-mobile and see if you can have it switched out under your warranty. I had a very similiar problem that it was stuck on the HTC/T-mobile splash screen and I sent mine in for repair through HTC. They fixed the issue and sent it back (for free), all I had to pay was shipping there. They do say that if they find something thats not covered under warranty like water damage/not the proper software they'll call and let you know if there will be a charge to fix it.
I will say that my bootloader and probabaly everyone elses dont look like yours. Just above the spl-2.08 mine says pb81120..also mine says Cotullahspl where yours does not. If you dont find what your looking for here on the site best bet is to send it in for repair. Even if T-mobile says you didn't buy the warranty or what ever you still may be covered through HTC. This also will apply even if you bought the phone used.
HTC repair can be found here.
were you not holding the volume down button when you turned on the phone?
I would just download/flash stock from that bootloader screen.
I was holdin the vol down and power and i bought it on ebay so.. idk if i have warenty.
Even if you bought the phone on ebay you still could have a warranty. In post 12 I linked HTC repair. If you call them you could find out if you do have a warranty on it or not. They'll ask if for the imei# and run it. Im not sure if its a two year or one year on the warranty but they'll be able to tell you that.
I bought a used HD2 on ebay as well. Mine was listed as broke and was stuck on the T-mobile splash screen. I asked for the imei# from the seller and then called HTC to find out if it still had a warranty which it did, so i bought it. I lucked out that my phone was covered under warranty, you may or may not have the same luck as i had.
Thank i did what you told me and they gave me a new motherboard on mine. Thanks alot
Hello everybody! It's samanen here, a newbie on xda. NOOOB
For first I'd like to apologize my not-so-good english, I'm 15 and from Finland so please keep the point in the problems and forget my english difficulties
Ok, splutting off and let's move to the point here
So I bought my HD2 (used) about two weeks ago, and right away tried to put WP7/android on it and sync music, contacts, videos and other stuff - but my USB connection didn't, and still doesn't work.
Ofcourse I tried reconnecting, cleaning the usb cable and port on the phone, tried another PCs and total of 10 different USB ports, another cable, Mac OS, Win7, WinXP, SyncMate, WMDC, ActiveSync, removing the battery, resetting the phone, removing SD-Card and SIM-Card, ActiveSync, Hard Disk and Faster data sync options, etc etc with no positive result. Its no fun having a mobile device with no access to put media and other stuff on it :/
Specs and facts:
HTC HD2 (aka Leo), non-T-Mobile (EU version?)
Software info:

ROM date : 09/29/10
Radio version : 2.15.50.14
Protocol version : 15.42.50.11U
Hardware info:
CPU : QUALCOMM(R) 8250B
Speed : 1024 Mhz
RAM size : 448MB
Flash memory size : 512MB
Enough numbers?
I think I have tried all the stuff I found here... Still no result, can't be detected on my PC. When I connect my phone to my PC, a notification pops up saying that USB device couldn't be detected/recognized, and it may be damaged. 1 second after it popped up it disappears and if I check the devices connected to the pc, there's no undetected devices anymore.. If I'm quick enough to click on the notification, it shows me what devices are connected and their situations, and I can see an undetected USB device there, but if I refresh (reopen) the window it disappears..
Also, if I use the option "When phone is on, do not charge the battery when connected to a PC." and connect to a PC via USB, it STILL does charge the battery. So my hypothesis is that the phone believes it's on a charger/car kit because its not getting recognized as a USB hard disk/device on my PC and still charges as it's connected to PC. Could this be possible in any way?
Also, when I got the phone and put it on the charger, CoPilot popped up every second (I closed it, it opened, etc) and I had to uncheck some option "When connected to a car kit open CoPilot automatically", so another thing there which refers to my phone being a psycho and believing its being on a charger.
I know there are people with this problem, and topics on this forum, but I think my problem is a bit different from theirs and nobody has really got an answer for this..
Then to my second problem. I can't enter Bootloader mode, or Hard Reset mode.
When I hold down the volDown button and press the bootup button, my phone either normally boots up or doesn't even boot up or show signs of booting into bootloader.
Once I got into the bootloader after dozens of tries, but as I'm stupid, I didn't write down the numbers shown there.. And now I seem not to be able to enter bootloader even after 20 tries.. Hardreset neither works. Same plan - either normally boots up or doesn't do anything. Weirdo much? Can anyone help? :/ I think I've bought an useless device..
Thanks,

Hi man! Try to flash your phone from SD card with stock ROM. Hope you will get good result! Let me know what happens!
Maybe it is your usb cable. I also can not sync with the cable that was delivered with the official carkit. It is just possible to load the device with that cable.
Your bootloader problem could be caused by broken volume buttons. I think they often get destroyed when replacing a broken touch screen. Do they work without problems inside the os?

Hai there! Thanks for your suggestion! What rom version would you recommend? I'm such a noob with these roms etc so I'd appreciate much if you/somebody could tell me what to use I will try that as soon as I find my microSD->SD adapter (Im afraid it got into vacuum cleaner as I cleaned my room ), also I have no idea how that's done but I believe there's a tutorial on xda.

I have tried 2 different cables, one from the package the previous owner provided me and another one from my dad's N97 mini. Could I be so unlucky that those cables are ones that don't work with HD2? I hope I am If you think its about the cable, what cable would you suggest me to get? Just a basic microusb cable from the electonic store? Also the previous owner told me he wiped out all the data and synced the phone before sending it to me WITH the cable provided, so.. Idk Strange.
No, my volume buttons are working great inside the os, I can adjust vol down and up well without any problems. Also my volbuttons are not sticky or feel like broken so I just don't believe that theyre damaged. Also the screen has never got damaged or repaired.
Another problem - Isn't it required to enter bootloader mode when updating the rom? :/
Thanks for both of you for your replies and suggestions, I will keep you updated if anything helps or gets clarified!

Sorry then i can not help you. I do not think it is the cable. I bought one on amazon. It is official htc charging and syncing cable. This just came to my mind because you said that your copilot starts if you plug your phone in....
If you want to install another winmo rom you can do it when connected via active sync and it will automatically go to bootloader. If you want to install hspl for custom roms or android you have to go to bootloader for the installation.

By your info i can say that you have European Model phone. You must firstly check volume buttons, after. Download official ROM by IMEI of you one. As i know sometimes problem in usb connector in phone. I repair some HD2's by replasing usb connector. I living near you) In little poor Belarus))) try this steps and let me know.
Also. If u want i can help you in repair process. Its very simple) i have a big experience with hd2's and iPhones) and other ones. Because i think you boughta bad repaired phone with bad volume buttons and usb connector

Man, do you think they could fix this in warranty/quaranty? I have still warranty left on this one and i think I could get a new one/HD7 in return
Yeah. They must fix it if you dont damaged phone mechanically(maybe previous owner replaced screen) or you dont flash hspl magld android Leo is still The King i think. Here more opportunities than in HD7 On eBay HD7 cheaper than HD2 because WP7 os not good than android let me know whats up!

No, I've never dropped it or anything and when it came from the previous owner the usb didnt work, and he has never replaced anything on this model (his previous model was replaced to this, completely new one because his previous model stopped working with no reason).
Maybe I should contact the warranty Thanks for the answers, let's see what they can do!

I changed my old iPhone 3G 16Gb white, in terrible condition to this HD2 and paid 100€ Yeah android or WP7 would be soo super cool, the customizability is the thing why I chose HD2! It's amazing how there are still developers developing new stuff for HD2, I highly aprreciate their work
Waiting for their reply from the warranty center!
Let me know. Whats going on! And i will help you to install all)

Still no reply, wow. Today I got a message that my phone will be back in two weeks. Slow service.
They also told me, that as the usb is LOOSE when you plug the cable in, it may be my fault. wow. So they're not repairing it for free i quess..
My phone is back..
Ok, got my phone back. The mohterboard has been damaged, they told me it had got wet. That's something what's not under warranty, so they're not repairing it for free. The repair would cost almost 500€ so it's totally not worth it. The report says: USB-Connectiong is loose (from other components), also injury with water in screen and motherboard.
Seems that the last owner already knew it's damaged and sold me a damaged one, as he told me it's working 100%.
So, I don't have a clue what to do next. I think I should try repairing it myself but is it worth it? Or worth trying? Where can i get the parts and tutorials how to do this? I think i gotta only repair the usb thingy but i'm not sure - I'd love to get some help now. Thanks in advance.

I had the exact same problem and it seemed that my cable was loose. You can try repairing it by yourself (it's not under warranty) or trying different pc/cable.
Try this : go to your pc and remove USB driver from application control panel, and after reconnect hd2.
Probably us not a cable problem, but drivers problems.
Bye.

i have the same problem i can't go to bootloadr.
can any one help me How i can fix my hd2? plz
it's the screen stop on white HTC
Hello HD2 users. i need some help from your possible experience (this might be a bit long to read, sorry)
I got a disassembled HD2 from a friend, which didn't have lcd/digitizer. I took it to a shop in my country which is an expert with htc phones (called htc solutions ). they said they will test the mainboard. if it works, they would put a digitizer and an lcd.
after a week i called back and they said the mainboard wasn't working so i took it back (still disassembled, no lcd/digitizer).
i got bored while studying for exams, so i tried assembling some stuff and testing it. apparently i connected the bottom buttons, the volume buttons, in-call mic and vibrator. i can tell that because i put a battery on the pins, plugged a usb in and it vibrated!
so i tried again... worked again.
then i hold down volume buttons, connected to usb and it was recognized. i even flashed ruu while holding battery with my hands.
then it rebooted, after some time while still connected to usb, orange led went on. after some time too, green one did (it's my other hd2 battery which was charged completely). device was recognized by pc again. i ran windows mobile device center, it showed hd2, asked to register etc...
i decided to try a custom rom, and flash worked and same thing happened.
now, in order to get activesync/wmdc to connect, the phone must completely boot right?
i asked them on their fb page, they said that it didn't work with them, and the expert said it stucked on htc screen.
and since it booted with me and connected to wmdc, then it booted right?
i couldn't test sound because i must put the back cover right? and i'm not expert, even connected the stuff inside the phone without watching tutorials/asking.
they said they can add the digitizer and lcd on my responsibility, (90$) so should i go for it?
also, does android boot if not all hardware is present? i tried to execute clrcad and haret in both roms (ruu and crossbowHD2 wm6.1), but never got adb to connect. i wanted to test clk and fastboot for android, but didn't have time
Yes Windows would need be booted but perhaps the stuck HTC screen was far enough for WMDC to recognise the device.
If it did indeed reflashed fully things sound promising.
Have you tried installing MyMobiler on your PC as allows you to view HD2 screen image on notebook, needs push file to device but can't remember if any interaction is needed on HD2 but worth a try.
Can you see your device in Windows explorer & view content of phone storage ?
Personally I would be inclined to buy a pre assembled lcd/digi combo (around 30USD)or lcd & digi separately if want save a little more & test it myself & rebuild it after reading some tutorials as will save yourself some dosh ($) if things are not 100% & should be able to resell parts to recoup outlay.
Thanks for your reply.
today before going to exams i downloaded and installed my mobiler and booted it. after connecting usb, (still on wm6,1 due to that ruu has install restriction policies for security, and wants me to confirm installation and launch of exe's afaik) my mobiler started installing on the phone automatically. and it showed the screen!
i saw that there was no sim card (cuz there was not) and pressed cancel in winmo, i got to home screen. so it works right? there's no way that pc could control the hd2 and get to homescreen if the screen is stuck on htc logo.
edit: i forgot, yes, i could browse nand or sdcard if connected from windows explorer. it seems very normal
oh, and i'm not gonna try to flash HSPL it's already flashed cz custom rom worked, and not safe at all since i have to keep holding battery with my hands for it to stay on )
Sounds good so far. Due to fact your HTC specialists don't appear to be too special I would recommend commencing with repair yourself.
Rebuilding the device with a pre built lcd/digi assembly is very easy & almost foolproof if you use this forum & research tutorials & do the job right & with a lot of care.
You will save a serious amount of cash & have the knowledge & feeling of achievement of doing the repair work yourself.
well, i can't find any digitizer or lcd replacemet in my country and can't order them, the reason i went to htc specialists.
but i'm not that sure i will come to them. if android boots fine, i might use ubuntu or make something with it
link below ship to Lebanon if you could get around ordering or have someone do it on your behalf.

well, i may know someone who could order from ebay so i might do this after all. i think i'm missing the volume buttons, but the htc solutions store would give it to me at no cost. i love these guys but they're a complete rip-off.
i will see some tutorials on xda and the internet. if i find i'm capable of assembling it, i will do it
Thanks a lot for your help and your support, ( out of thanks ) :good::highfive:
make sure you order the right one, because there are 2 types of connection:
1st plug and play, 2nd with soldering. This is a piece of cake, I repaired mine recently with use of screwdriver and knife. Youtube has good tutorials "htc hd2 disassembly"

Not an issue when replace lcd/digi as a combo as they are already paired & it always best go for the plug/socket connector type. LCD to mainboard ribbon is same on them all.
not an issue actually because i got the button board's cable cut accidently (i feel so ashamed) and 90% i'm gonna leave it for spare parts for the working leo i have
Button board is only 3 to 4USD at the most & could probably be ordered same time as screen assembly. Only really worth doing if need 2 working handsets or want sell it or something otherwise keeping as spares is worthwhile but expect first thing you will need is a working digitizer lol
