I have a semi nooby question. I just got a Droid X a couple of days ago.. The thing is that it is currently flashed to work with Cricket Wireless. Now, I know that I can't factory reset the phone or I will lose my flash. I also know that Gingerbread is (or is going to be) available for the Droid X. Is there a way to update without having to do a full restore? I have Bootstrap and I created a Nandroid back up to a flashed state in case anything were to happen. I want to be able to use Gingerbread, but I don't want to pay $50-$80 just to have my phone re-flashed. Or if anyone knows how to program the phone to Cricket, that would be AWESOME so I can learn how to do it myself. Thanks in advance.
FYI flashing a new rom does not mess with ur cricket flash. u would have to program ur apns again though.
apn settings are the easiest thing to do on flashing to cricket. go to market and grab anycut then got to new shortcut activity scroll down to apns create shortcut.
name cricket
apn internet
username ([email protected])
password cricket
mmsc http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
mms port 8080
mnc 016 (urs may be diff, depending on where u r at)
autherization type pap or chap
apn type mms, default.
menu save
click the little circle button and ur all set.
if u were in san antonio i would have flashed it for $25

So, if I flash a new rom I have to do a factory reset right? Doesn't the factory reset/wipe clear out all of the flash?? And if I do this method you just showed me do I have to do it after or before I actually flash a rom?
You can use qpst and CDMAworkshop to make any change to back to verizon, but lots of learning if you never heard of these. The easy way is to do privacy clear, or, if that doesn't do it, flash the latest SBF.

I have another question for ya man. Will this work with ANY android? Or is it specifically for the Droid X? Would I use these same steps if I wanted to flash and Evo?

There's people on here or hofo that can do it. Also try chrisngrod at mycricketforum.com. It's always nice to send them some $$ even if they do it for free. I'd much rather pay them than Cricket or Verizon.
Really? How do I get in contact with them? Do I just pm them? That does sound better Than going through cricket's crappy customer service

Hey man sorry to bother but do you think you could help me out? I am trying to flash my own droid x back to cricket, but when I go to CDMA workshop and try to enter the SPC, it says that the phone doesn't recognize the 000000. Do you think you could help me find a way around this issue?

Hello!
I have Sprint LS980 flashed to Intertelecom Ukraine (EVDO Rev. A) by the NVram.
The problem is that i don't have 3g data connection on AOSP roms, it's just not connecting.
I have data on every stock base Rom and Omni Rom.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Same here. Just flashed my first AOSP ROM (Carbon) and I'm getting 1X instead of 3G at home. Is there a way to update PRL or Profile maybe? Thought it was a ROM specific issue.
Tried to edit build.prop but get no luck to get data work.

Unfortunately on some ROM it's not active , on other one there is no such pass. When i use aps that open that setting aps crashes.
Always thought that NV programmed phones have no need in APNs.
Thank you for trying to help me!

Yep, it's really a CDMA operator (EVDO rev. A is CDMA) and LS980 is Sprint version of LG G2.
And everything you wrote will work on GSM, but any way thank you for trying to help!

Ended up switching to a t mobile sim card. I figured since it's a att phone to use the att sim card.. but I tried the t mobile and getting some service but very little. ST is telling me a tower near me is down to give it 24 hours but I feel that's a goose chase lol I've used a t mobile sim card in the exact spot I'm in and worked fine. It was in the note 2 from Verizon fully unlocked though.

I have a at&t locked s4 on straightalk now. No need to root unlock or anything just the at&t compatible sim from them and adjust apns. I can't advise on the tmobile base for st since there coverage is horrid in my area but if you do use the at&t the apn I use for my s4 and my gf s4 is as follows
apn:tfdata
port:80
mmsc:http://mms-tf.net
mm proxy:mms2.tracfone.com
mm port:80
anything not listed above was left as either not set or whatever the default was when creating a new apn. I have no issues with data or mms using this apn on either phone. Hope that helps

Well they told me a tower was down for t mobile yesterday and they said 24 hours and it's still not hardly working. I can only use my gs4 on my couch with my hand near the window. About to call them and get I in their butt. It's not my phone is the apn settings or something on the ST end. Will update after this long as call
Unless I am mistaken the apn has zero to do with reception. Apn's are for your mms/data access. I have never come across a phone where the apn had any effect on the actual cellular signal.

Is there anything I have to change in settings?
