Hi guys,
Is there any way to set a ringtone as "ascending" rintone?
I see in the market an app called "Ascending ringtone", but I don´t know if it works whith CM7.2 ROM.
Other way is editing the ring tone with a tone/music editor, but I prefer a way to do it automatically by the phone.
Thanks in advance.

Gentle IncRing on the market
If you would like to find more use this tag: increasing ring
Gentle IncRinging application is just what i was looking for (and free), and the feature of reducing the volume after ringing for some time is the best when you forget the phone at your table to don´t piss off your coworkers.
Thanks kanyazsombor.

I have some mp3 files in my storage card.
I am aware of software line mRing , Ringo etc. but is it possible to use mp3 files as ringtone from Storage card WITHOUT using 3rd party software ?
Any registry settings to change the ringtone folder from main memory to storage card ?
also, whether or not the above is possible, what is the best mp3 ringtone solution WITH software ?
thanks...
Well I just realized something. But is this normal ?
If I put the mp3 files in the root directory or in a 1st level directory, I can see them in Ringo sotware and but I can't see them in default contact ringtone selection.
If I put them in a 2nd level directory I can't see them from Ringo and default ringtone selection screen.
If I put the files in root directory I can see them both in Ringo and default ringtone selection screen.
is this normal ?
If you search the forum, you'd find that you've found the answer to your question. Now if you need an explanation of the solution rather than the solution itself, please contact Microsoft.
hi,
so you mean it's normal behaviour ?
I don't need an explanation of the solution.
what I want is to be sure that I'm not doing something incorrect or I don't miss something.
btw, I had searched the forum before opening this thread. There are so many threads about mp3 ringtones.

Yes, and I'd be cautious anyway. Having ring tones especially anything not in a vanilla wmv or similar format can slow up time it takes for your phone to start ringing. In addition storing the file on storage card makes this delay even worse and finally can cause phone to crash on incoming call. Not saying this will happen to you but if it does you'll know why. Once you have it set up test out delay until first ring and response time from off/sleep.

well, I decided to use "mring" as ringtone manager on my Hermes.
I would just pay for this great application but I found a problem with Hermes.
If I use mring , I can't connect to my GPRS connection after disconnecting.
To re-connect to GPRS I need to reboot the Hermes.
This means I just have "one" time connection to GPRS (for each reboot of the device)
If I uninstall mring, this problem disappears and I can connect to GPRS each time I try.
So ,I think there is a conflict with mring and GPRS connections.
Can anyone confirm this ? Does this work for anyone ?
What else can I use as an alternative to "mring" ?
hey guys, I am really desperatly looking for ringtone managing software.
please advise...
You can also put them in "\storage card\My Documents\" and they'll show up in the default ringtone manager but as mikechannon said, it takes a while for the ringtones to load. Like it'll say incoming call, then ring 2 seconds or so later.
What i do is i put all my ringtones in "\Storage Card\My Documents\My Music\Ringtones\" and then just copy the one i want as a ringtone to "\Windows\Rings\" and when i want to change it, i'll remove the one i have there and replace it with another one i want.
well, that's a nice idea but mring was also adding features as "ringtone to contact/category/know caller/unknown caller" , "sms to contact/category/know caller/unknown caller"
it also has "vip" settings for contacts marked as vip and it has profile support like (discreet/loud/normal...)
I am also looking for such features which the OS itself does not include.
so I am still looking for alternatives to mring.
any idea ?
I have a lot of ring tones on my Touch Pro and I'd like to be able to use all of them without having to manually switch them every time I want a different one.
What I'd like to know is if there is an app that will randomly pick a ring tone from a specified folder whenever someone calls. So every call I receive will play a different ring tone. Does something like this exist? If not, would it be possible to create?
Thanks.

You can change the vibrate-pattern with a little app called 'VAlert'. You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437279

some know how i can change my alert sounds?
Start/Settings/Sounds and Notifications/Notifications

but i don’t see my mp3 or my wav files when i try to change for example the sms sound.
i put the files in the windows rings folder
SMS sounds múst be put in the folder 'application data\Sounds'

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, so please be gentle with me. I have had a little search around, and still can't find a solution to my problem.
I recently flashed to Oz rom 1.5 , and I'm on radio 2.07.50.27_2.
So basically no matter what setting I put the volume to, my ringtone and notifications are always the loudest they can be (obviously not if its on silent or vibrate) I have tried changing ringtone back to the default one, and its exactly the same. Is there a reg edit I can do? Does anyone else suffer from this?
Let me know your thoughts!
Cheers

You can have it set to have different volumes for system sounds and ringtones.
When you click one of the volume buttons, do you have "System" and "Ring" tabs at the top of the page? If you do, make sure you're on the ring one to set ringtone volume. This can also be done from the "Sound & Display" options on the settings tab.
Hope this helps mate
Thanks johncmolyneux, I've already tried that and it makes no difference. I have it set so there is only one volume control (so system and ringtone volume is combined) ... any other ideas?
Sorry mate, I know that was a bit of an obvious thing to check, but you never know on here
I guess my only advice would be to go back to the ROM thread and ask there. Maybe it's a problem with that.
no prob mate... I have asked there as well and the chef wasn't sure either...
are there any registry things I can check? I was thinking maybe my phone thinks 'level 1' on the volume is actually 'level 5' or something?
its so annoying-scares the life out of me every time someone calls!

Having never had a problem with this myself, I've got no idea where this particular data is stored. It does sound like something that would live in the registry though, so I'm sure that someone on here will be able to help you out. There's some walking encyclopaedias of Windows registry on here! lol
Good luck getting it sorted mate.
any one out there now where in the registry I should look?
cheers in advance!
Hello people,
I've noticed there's no way to enable incremental ringtones when you receive a phone call.
It's a bit annoying to get a call and be scared by a 100% volume ringtone.
I have to create a modified ringtone then copy it on the phone and use it?
Or there is a way to achieve that?
Thanks in advance,
ghale
Increasing ringtone volume isn't present in Android One concept.
Hopefully a custom ROM will have that (and few other) annoyances (still: Not a bug!)...

Ok, thanks.
So, it's not me.
I'm looking for a mod or an app or something to achieve that without creating an MP3 file to use as ringtone.
This might do the trick:

Yes!
I'll try this app for some days then I'll buy it.
Thank you very much!
