As there are plenty of "holes" in the body of the Galaxy Note, are you afraid that dust might get into the inside of the phone, and may contaminate the screen?
Or, has this happened to some one?
I don't think that'll be a problem since the screen and the glass is really really tight together. It's not like 2 years ago when there was "huge" gaps between the LCD and the glass. Haven't seen or heard from anybody with dust problems.

Yeah I'm worried. So I have a screen protector and a case. And I keep it in clean places.
Well I work in a joinery shop, very dusty and I'm not worried and not a speck under my screen

doesn't have any smart phones a lot of holes?. i cant see that the note have more or bigger holes then the rest?. but aside that. i use smart phones the last 8 years now, starting with a P900 up to the HD2. and i can assure you these phones have seen places you even cant imagine if you have not being there your self, when the talk came to dirt & dust. and i never ever had any dust under the glass of my phones. so i'm pretty sure the note is safe/unsafe as any smart phone in that point.
Isn't the point of super AMOLED that the glass is bonded to the display without any gaps ie it should be impossible for dusty to get in in between?
Sent from my superior GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
What specifically about the Note would worry you more than any other smartphones/tablets out there? Dust is always a possibility, but minor at best. The Note is just like any other phone...prone to dust but not a concern.
I learn from my mistake when having htc sensation. A whole speck cloud of dust come from side of the screen and it is major flaw design discussed in sensation forum.
Well, past is past, for this Note, im taking good care of it. Im never put it inside me pocket without its bag carrying! Anyway, thanks to Amoled, i feel much better

Yep, that's what i've read. That's a key difference between AMOLED and Super AMOLED. SAMOLED will give us the illusion that we're touching the display panel directly since it's bonded to the glass. AMOLED/LCD is not. So i would think that it's nearly impossible to get dust under the glass.
not worried about lint getting into my screen, but it is nice to have rubber caps covering the ports on my ringke case. I have some phones where there is a bunch of lint in the usb ports
Screen protector and case will help your worry. Though if you apply the screen protector there is a possibilty of getting dust underneath it resulting in you thinking there could be dust under your screen

Put my phone straight into the pocket maybe the couple of times I drooped it but there not even noticeable
None. I use a screen protector because it gets rid of the smudge where the coating wears out.

i have a lot of scratches on my display, unfortunately i can't find a fitting screen protector for my i9023...they are all for the i9020, which is of a different size...
Phone bought in december, never used a case or a screen protector, and no scratches on the screen

I keep mine in my old G1 pouch. I work in construction and am constantly blowing sawdust and random debris out of the pouch and off of the phone. Luckily though, the handset is still completely scratch-free... somehow.

Yes, i9020a to be specific. As far as I know there is no difference between the screen size of a SLCD and AMOLED. The length and width are the same. If you go to ZAGG, Skinomi, Bestskinsever or any other brand there is only one screen protector for the Nexus S and it's not specific to any one variant (i9020, i9023, etc).
i bought a zagg as soon as my phone came. I also bought a TPU case on ebay but the case leaves micro scratched on the back of the phone
Today it was good for first and then gone bad.
So today I managed to reach £100 pounds to buy a OUYA but later today my device had a accident which I will NEVER forget.
So when I fell down due to an accident, I quickly checked the phone and I was fine for a second and then stressed for an other.
The phone was in my pocket with a case on if you weren't aware.
This is the image of the phone now:

The top of the screen works fortunately which shows the digitizer is not damaged, there is a bit of a yellowish mark on the screen but after looking at it, it is just the glass putting some force on the digitizer.
The rims below are a little damaged and a mark on an other part of the rim.
I found out that for a new glass screen (gorilla glass) it would be around £100 which is a messed up price for a screen even if the screen is 720P but the digitizer is doing the 720p output.
What is the cheapest Nexus 4 glass screen?
Meanwhile, I have to use my tablet for YouTube, talking in forums and so on.
I hope there is a way to get the screen for a good price.
Thanks to anyone which is willing to help.
I found this, will that help?

Do you know if that's Gorilla Glass? If it is, I might grab a few just to have replacements for any deep scratches. I'd rather just replace the glass than have a screen protector. (I haven't been able to find a protector that I like the feel of, but I haven't tried one of the thicker glass-protector options.)

If the bottom half isn't working I think you also need to buy a digitizer.

Other people had this screen break and had the same screen issue afterwards, the glass seems lifted a bit so maybe that is the issue.

I have seen some reports of people thinking their lenses are scratched when in fact they are micro cracks. This is my third phone with this problem and I took some pictures to show people what to loo for and how to do it.
Here is a picture of what appears to be a scratched up lens.

But when you plane light off the surface of the glass you can see it is clean, they aren't scratches but micro cracks which in turn get bigger and look like scratches.
[/IMG]
This is a defect that will come out more and more, somethings wrong, either they didnt put a rubber gasket around it or the phone flexes too much and its too thin to withstand the strain?
Look really close and you may see the beginnings of the cracks in your lenses too.
I dont see anything in your pictures as hard as I'm looking. I don't have anything on mine either. I wouldnt call it a defect. Something had to have happened for it to crack whether you noticed you did it or not. I used to say the same worth the Nexus 4 glass back. Things don't just break themselves. It's thick sapphire crystal.. Not glass.

Ok, you must not have read my post, this is the third one I have had with this issue. If you look at the top pic you'll see what looks like scratches on the bottom right of the lens itself, except they go all across the whole lens ( hard to photograph. The second pic shows a clean surface which proves they aren't scratches.
No I did not hit it on anything, had it in a case before I even left the store all 3 times. I also have a Nexus 4 without a scratch on it. Others are reporting scratches, but I wanted to show they aren't scratches at all, but cracks within the sapphire itself, and YES sapphire crystals damage easily, just look at watches with their sapphire crystals, and they are much thicker then this thin piece they used here.
So I'm not really sure where this belongs but I'll just post here...
Today, I had a really ****ty day and got into a super big blow out with my girl (ex girl now) and long story short she would not leave my apt and kept yelling in my face. Obviously after minutes of this I lost it and hurled my phone against a wall in a fit of rage... Probably close to as hard as I could (90%). Anyway, the phone put a big hole into the drywall and she ended up leaving. I went and picked up and dusted it off... Magically, not a single scratch or anything is wrong with the phone!
My OPO is a sandstone black 64gb wrapped in a tudia 2 piece case and a tempered glass screen prot... Granted there is a screen prot and case on it but I'm thoroughly impressed that this thing is not only 100% functional but still in pristine condition!

Sorry about your... wall
I'm sold about your case / glass combo. Can you share more details on which ones you are using please?
Thanks!
I had a tempered glass screen too. Phone fell from my hand on the concrete floor while I was talking on the phone. Both tempered glass and the case broke but not a single scratch on the phone. I did have to change the screen protector and the case but yeah phone was as good as new.

Damn, I did the exact same thing with my nexus 4 during an argument but instead i smashed it on the floor and stomped on it. :crying:

Sorry to jump in conversation but do you feel border of the orzly tempered glass ? I'm thinking seriously about buying one. I don't usually use this kind of protection but with this screen size I fear to scratch it with jeans button or zipper. :-/
Just don't rub it on your crotch too much and you should be ok
Seriously though, the Nillkin 9H tempered glass protector is excellent quality, very thin, and cheaper too I think.
If there was no case on the phone you would be able to feel the edges of the screen protector... However since there is a case and it wraps around the front edges of the phone (providing protection if the phone is screen down) then its not an issue... Hope that helps

Sorry to hear about you & your ex-gf. I have the same set-up too. That's a serious hole in the wall you should get it patched up.
Note-to-self: Can use phone as throwing weapon when in a bind.
Nice move, I'm only sorry it didn't brake...
I got one today anyone know if its tough or if its any good brought from the ee shop
Have one, feels good so far, pretty easy to apply and holding well so far, so thumbs up.

Pics of it installed please..? I purchased a zag hd after a fail with Verizon branded ones. I accidentally got a wet install which is nice but I can't use cases that go over the screen with it. Looking to get a dry install soon.
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
so what's the diff between wet and dry install styles? aren't they the same thing just differently installed?
Ive got this screen protector on my phone and im very happy with it... really good coverage edge to edge and it plays well eith the cases i have. When i installed it, initiallg had a lot of bubbles that i couldn't push out.. but these disappeared on their own.. and now it looks perfect.

Not sure entirely but I thought the dry was a film and the wet is like a stretchy material.

Hi everyone I won't to purchase this Zagg hd dry, is it a good choice? Some of the s7 edge owners are using it a long time, would you share your experience with me. I'm specially interested, how it manage drops.

It won't do a lot against drops, maybe a tiny bit. It's designed to stop scratches. Only tempered glass protectors can "help" against drops on screen. And they are **** in our phones.

Exactly, I try two different manufactures of tempered glass, it was unusable. I thought, because of the soft material, the Zagg, could absorb some of the impact. I just thought some of the members who are using this protection had some experiences with drops.
