I don't need fancy features. Are there any specific ROMs that are created to improve the power efficiency. Thanks.

Yes, Aosp. Appears sense was created to eat your batter for some reason. Though, you will have to mess with the settings until they are right for you. I would go with an aosp rom.
The rom that bricks your phone that saves battery right... Haha na man try decks 1.3

for me, I get the best life from MIUI and ICS Deck
I love aosp roms, but they all have a flaw in the bluetooth stack that causes stereo audio streams to cut out in noisy (wifi, bluetooth) environments. I've tested almost all the sense-base roms, and I'm running Smooth 'N Sexy with Freedom kernel and a 3500mah battery, which gets (medium-heavy usage) me about 10 hours with all the radios on (even 4g) or 20 hours with wifi and 4g turned off.
i have used CM 7.1 and while on Wifi i get awesome battery life... all day
on 3G, i can get up to 3pm before i wanna re charge.. (40%)
right now using ICS from Jared the great and will see how it works...
I agree with everyone that aosp gets better life than sense, however, if u want a sense rom to try I would recommend classic. I've flashed em all and that underclocked is about as good as sense gets imho. If u take everyone's advice and go aosp try tiamat 3.3.7, seems to be very gentle on the juice.
If you really want battery I say go with aosp but if your like me, a sense fanboy then go with team nocturnal's shooter nighty 1.0
It has the best battery life sense can give you

Perhaps its just me but I've always thought that the kernel had a bigger impact on battery life than the ROM. Either way, its worth trying different kernels and evaluating results.

Baked Snack 9.7 has awesome battery life. WOW!!!!
I love froyo but for now i will stick with 9.7 since battery life is amazing and i also love droid x keyboard. I tried others. Don't like smaller buttons. Need bigger buttons.
66% left with medium use and bluetooth on whole 12 hrs. Still 66% battery left after 12hrs. Wow. Check screenshot for usage, uptime. Judge yourself.
Now if we can get that on froyo 1.1 that would be awesome. Although i'm reading it reboots if volts drop low.

It's System Panel. There's a lite version that's only a trial for the graphs, etc.
I think the full version is like $3.
System panel
SystemPanel App / Task Manager
Agreed. BSv9.7 is the best rom I have ever tried for battery life. I miss that now that I'm on Froyo, but I feel quite sure BS will be close to that good again when HTC releases the 2.6.32 kernel source.

BakedSnack has already released his 2.2 rom and for me the battery life is just as good with 9.7. Its the first froyo rom that actually seems to last.
opps system panel lol sorrry
Herver always makes the best ROM battery life wise. Snacks 9.6/9.7 blows everything out of the water. Fresh/CM6 is more popular than Snacks but should not be.

We'll have to agree to disagree here
The reason 9.7 is soooo ridiculously good on battery is Hero's custom undervolted kernel. With BS 10 & 11, he didnt have source access to the new kernel and therefore couldnt modify it. In fact, with 11, he just switched to netarchy's kernel... which is good (no disrespect at all to him), but wasnt quite as good on battery life as Hero's eclair version. Like I said though, as soon as he gets his hands on that source, it's a whole new ballgame.
Of course, all of this is my opinion based solely off of my limited testing of the different roms and kernels. YMMV.
I was preparing to try this ROM by backuping using Titanium Backup. An update in the Market appeared for the app, so I updated. Now TB FC's every time it loads. Judging by the comments, I am not alone. Do not update your TB.
I had purchased it months ago when I got my Evo to save battery life but uninstalled it because the GUI was just horrible. I just downloaded it and the GUI has been made usable now. Oddly enough, JD is now able to control the CPU.
Has anyone given this a whirl?
the UI upgrade surprised me too. it takes a lot of poking around to get it really tuned in.

the old version was able to control the cpu as well
yes the new UI is great the maker just needs to fully support Gingerbread
I have been using it and recently did the update to the new one. I still use standard settings and it makes a difference on my phone. Think I am going to play with the settings to see what I can get.

I am a long-time fan, and I set it up with advanced settings. Helps a lot with battery life.

I didnt know the old one controlled CPU as well seeing as though I ditched it sometime in Nov.
Use JD in the past but I have good battery life anyway (using SetCPU profiles, this may help) so uninstalled it.
Just tried the new one. The new UI is nice but I can not get to any meaningful settings (e.g. the nice setting page in Biofall's posting), just choosing a preset configuration. Was the free version dumbed down?
I am using CM 6.1.2
Bulletproof MIUI 1.10.7 ext4/virtuous OC Daemon..
compared with the original MIUI and the MIUI.us this one is twice as fast.
11 hours and 36% the battery..
I make at least five calls, text, web, 11 milles with gps and more important for me is i use wifi hotspot with my tablet at least 3 hours..
Thanks to the bulletproof Dev team...

Howdy bud!
I'm running the MIUI.us 1.10.14 (just release today) I usually get with a regular 1500mah battery nearly 28hrs of usage and still 29% of battery at that point.
Overclocked settings set to 1.2ghz - interactive profile
Juice Defender Ultimate to manage many different aspect of enabling and disabling service with either screen on or off. Makes a difference.
I suffer from no lag and memory usage leaves me usually with about 90mb of free ram to play around.
Email/Gmail are constantly on
Most of what my battery consumption is the cell standby usage.
I think I'm getting quite good use of the device.
Here's a screen cap.
Performance?
I've tried ROMs with Sense, and the performance is TERRIBLE with them. I'm running Xboarder 2.3.5, which has insane battery life. Is the performance with the MIUI really better than a Sense ROM? The response time is really my only concern and issue with ROMs.

It's definitely better than Sense, but the UI itself is much slower (scrolling), and it's not nearly as fast as CM7.

I believe you need to accumulate 10 posts before you can post in the dev fora.

just wanted to post about my battery experience. im at 60% battery now and its been on battery power for 14-1/2 hours. ive been out on shoot today and been answering emails and sms all day on my phone, checking facebook and instagram occasionally. i even used wifi hotspot to write a couple long emails. i took some video and photos too. on my old Desire HD or sensation it would not have lasted a long days work. the battery life on this phone is a major plus for me.
ROM- ARHD 2.1.1
Kernel - Siyah. cpu OC'd to 1.5ghz and UV'd -75%
deleted alot of bloat including Kies drivers

Hello,
I am new to Evo 4G. Mine came with Android 2.3.5 which may be the latest official ROM for this phone. Before I start trying out different ROMS, I thought I'd ask for some recommendations.
I usually prefer the stock Android look and feel. But it seems like there isn't a CM10 release for this phone that is stable. For example the one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785498 appears to not support either of the cameras. This is not a huge deal breaker but a bit of a bummer.
Additionally I would love to save the screen real estate by keeping the capacitive buttons at the bottom of the phone functional. Is there a modern ROM that uses those buttons instead of giving up screen space to new virtual buttons? This one is kinda important to me.
Thanks.
Decks reloaded is an unbelivable rom, with all the sparks and whistles its cm based, but runs 10x better than any new phone could posibly I flashed every week until I found this rim its been my daily since may, thats saying a lot, and everytime I flash another rom, I just go back, no errors at all just follow directions, everything is perfect on flash, its under original development, happy flashing I'm sure you'll love it
