You can use the re-stocking option contained in the Overcome ROM Install Guide to restore your tab to GB.
While your there why not give the ROM a whirl

use cwm and install from sd card with the update and you'll be good.

Thanks guys
I ended up spending some time learning how to use Odin and managed to get 2.3.3 running, so happy days

Go back to Stock on Hero

I just purchased a HERO 6262 GSM on ebay and looks like it is already rooted and is running FirmwareVerison: Villain5.2, Baseband version:63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18, but I want to go back to stock HTC rom. I've installed HTC Sync and downloaded two different RUU's and try to install but it fails. I've tried RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_1.76.405.6_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver and RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_1.76.405.1_R3_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.
It acts like it is going to install the rom, but it fails. In the RUU I get error 140: Bootloader version error. What am I doing wrong? Or which Stock rom should I install.....please help. I would also like the ability to root again and go to Villain down the road.
Much thanks and all help is appreciated!
Nevermind.....I just downloaded and installed RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver without any problems. So I guess I must use this one from now on to go back to stock version. How about how to reinstall Villain 5.2? Much thanks.
Well you haven't done yourself any favours, putting an official, non-rooted ROM on, then wanting to re-root it later.
Goldcard for you methinks.
Lol
You should have read more before you messed with the phone...
You should have done android backup first.
Now
I think you have to.. root.. then load the new ROM.
Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk
why would you buy a rooted phone, just to throw some stock firmware on there to want to root it again?
*Facepalm*
Because I wanted to make sure the phone was all good and not screwed up by the previous owner......looks like I gotta use the goldcard method to root it. However, which ROM do you guys recommend?
with the ruu 2.73.405.5 you can use flashrec-20090815.apk and flash recovery image without goldcard

Seconded. That's actually the RUU I used, to downgrade to, via a gold card. So at least the OP has saved themselves the hassle of that.

Want Airtel India original ROM for HTC Hero

Dear Friends,
I have a HTC Hero provided by Airtel carrier in India and i have updated and rooted it but i guess i have a hardware fault on my phone as it has corrupted 3 of my memory cards. I wish to give it for warranty claim and i guess they wouldnt accept the phone with custom OS as there is no official udpate for Airtel India HTC Heros.
I wish to roll back the original ROM and give the phone for claim. Please help people....
Regards,
Paddy
Moved to general as not development.
Regarding your issue, is there a 2.1 ROM available in your area? I'm sure I remember an OTA or something for 2.1 India...
No buddy..there is no official update in India.. Even when i check the HTC india site it doesnt give me option of new update. Also i tried HTC worlwide website but it doesnt allow me to download the official update as it says invalid IMEI number.
Also if i manage to get another hero on airtel, can we extract the ROM from other device??
Hmmm. Here's an Indian RUU.
RUU_Hero_hTC_Asia_India_3.31.720.2_R_Radio_63.18.55.06O_6.35.15.01_release_signed.exe
From http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Her...io_63.18.55.06O_6.35.15.01_release_signed.exe
Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is officially released, so I would wait and see first if anyone knows about that. This won't be airtel, which is a problem maybe.
A nandroid from another phone would do it, but only if you can fastboot boot it to make the nandroid without rooting.
I remember my build was 1.73.4xx before updating..so link might not b useful...
the other option u gave, could u pls elaborate more..u can give me a link to any guide or steps if available..appreciate ur help n patience buddy..thanks..
1. Find very trusting friend with Airtel India ROM installed you want. It needs to be old, as in not updated. a 1.x might work, as fastboot should be unlocked.
2. Use http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/08/how-to-gain-root-access-on-your-htc-hero/ guide. Follow steps 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11, but use the latest AmonRA Hero recovery instead of whatever they recommend there.
When it enters recovery, make a nandroid backup using backup and restore menu.
Now copy the files in the nandroid folder from friend's sd card to your PC. Paste folder onto your SD card. Rename the folder HT99************* to your serial number of your device. Then go and restore this nandroid.
You will then need to check if you have a recovery image installed on your phone, that you might need to change. And make sure you've not flashed anything else.
Then restore to factory defaults via the menu, and check everything's back to normal
Sorry buddy, i was quite involved and busy so couldnt reply. I've arranged for a HTC Hero on airtel but i'll get the possession sometime next week. Will reply back once i try getting the rom following the link you provided.
I think i have amon recovery installed as i had used gold card method to install the custom OS. How do i remove/uninstall it???

Paddy

Get the stock recovery image from another RUU (I am pretty sure it's worldwide the same), and do
flash_image recovery recovery.img
from adb shell, when you are in /sdcard, after pushing the image to the sd card.
Sorry for the stupi question but i dont know how to extract the recovery image from RUU. I have old RUU i guess 1.6 gsm worldwide which i used in goldcard method. Incase you have the image, could you please attach it to the post...

Paddy

problem with buzz

hi guyz after installing some programm dont remember exactly which my wildfire doesnt boot anymore it stops on htc screen.can i get a rom on sd card to use w/o open my phone?
Was it rooted? If Yes, then simply flash a new ROM from within Clockworkmod after entering Recovery Menu. If it was not rooted, flash a RUU by downloading one from Shipped ROM's and running the file after having HTC Sync installed.
But really, getting a bootloop by just installing an app seems unlikely to me. Anyhow, Good Luck.
thnx for fast reply its rooted but my prob is how to get the rom to sd card ?i mean i cant enter my menu so that i can transfer rom from pc to phone.(sorry for poor english)
Borrow or get a cheap card reader? They sell as cheap as peanuts these days. Or, if you have a laptop, most of them have integrated card readers.
You can mount SD from recovery
mount?how to?

you can pick any rom for unlocked phone
you just can care about your local language
Ok thank u very much and now return to the main question:
When i download ROM what i need to do to install it on tattoo? i mean i need a tutorial
so far i know.
put it on sd-card(in no ordner.just drag and drop) .restart in recovery and flash the zip-file(but wipe cache and data before)
Download the ROM that was on the phone from the beginning. That is the same ROM that it had the first time you turned it on.
When you download the program, open it. It will guide you through the flashing proces. Be sure to have enough power on the phone as it will not charge while flashing.
Okey guys thank u very much!
You are welcome.
Is your phone even rooted?
And are you still on stock ROM?
If yes there is no need to redownload and do other stuff.. You can just go settings>privacy settings>factory data reset
install rom

[Q] Need help downgrading to Froyo

Hello all,
I'm no stranger to flashing ROMs and what not on my HTC Desire S, but I can't seem to be able to flash this Orange Israel ROM (here) on my wife's MS2.
I am currently running GB after a while back flashing MILS2_U6_4.1-22_SIGNED_UCAMILESTONE2B1B80E1014.0R_UCXMILE2GBQWRTGB_P016_A006_HWp2a_Service1FF.sbf.
I have tried every method I could find in this thread to the letter, but no dice. Probably since using the version check tool it seems that in this ROM BL=2.
Is all hope lost? Can it be done?
Any and all help would be more than appreciated. I'm at my wit's end.
Thanks.
Still relevant.
Anybody have any wise words to inject?
Does anybody know?
Well, if you had GB then you're pretty much stuck there, no way to downgrade (actually there is, but you need a nandroid backup of froyo, and to follow the guide)

Thanks for the answer.
Since I don't have an old Froyo backup from my phone, will a backup from anybody else's phone work? If so, do you know where I can download one?
its simple....
1) enter in custom clockworkmod wipe/format data..
2) use RSD lite and put 2.3 official rom and run
3) the rom not run.. normal... because partitions is ext 4
4) enter in clockworkmod recovery power + T or anothers tips and format/wipe data ...this process force format for EXT 3
5) go RSD lite again put rom... and join android 2.3 again
