I have to enable the Home Helper component in order to disable my "home" soft button while locked. It works fine, I was just wondering how it works. It makes you set defaults to "Home Helper" but what is it? Another launcher? Seems very odd to me. Can someone help me understand? Thanks
Anyone? No?

Hi, I have a HTC Desire HD from T-Mobile and recently accidently removed the wi-fi/Bluetooth,setting widget from the home screen which allow me to quickly switch these functions on/off.
I'm unable to find any way to restore the original widget. I suspect a factory resest could do it but I don't really want to go that far.
Can anyone assist please? Thanks in advance.
Antony.
Errrm, are you referring to the power control widget? If so, what happens when you try to add it?
technically if you just add the power widget itll come back... but im hoping he didnt TB it and get rid of it...
Hi There,
I needed to set up a VPN on my Tab a while back that worked fine. Before I was able to set it up my Tab made me activate a lock screen swipe. I now no longer need the VPN and have deleted it but I can deactivate the swipe. Can anybody out there help. My settings menu doesen't seem to have a disable button.

Not sure what ROM you are running but if you go to setting, under interface or system (depending which ROM) there is a screen security setting, from there change to which ever lock screen you wish.
Not sure why the disable lock screen option isn't available to you, but you can use an app that disables it. I think these apps might require root, but I can't remember. Search the play store for an app called No Lock

Go to screen>lock screen, tap on screen lock, confirm your saved pattern. This brings up a page that gives you the various lock options.Hope this helps!
1) Hey, I'm wondering if any of you was able to activate slider shortcuts on the lock screen. as soon as i set up a lock screen pin, I only got a lock to press... nothing to slide!!
2) Does swipe work on your keyboard with core apps installed? Not working for me! I didn't even have voice dictate function until i tried installing pico tts. Had to uninstall it again, but after that, the Mic was still there!

I did a dirty flash from CM10.2, and my old slider shortcuts are still there, working fine. I don't use a pin, though.
Can't help with your other question, because I deleted the stock keyboard to save space in /system. (I use Swype instead.)
about 2): strange enough, the play store doesn,t allow to install the standalone app of the android keyboard!

You mean the Google Keyboard app? That's very strange. I just tried installing it, and it works fine here.
really strange!
Hi
i was wondering if nobody tryed to disable the original launcher with llama or automate.
I actually use FTVStick with llama and 1 rule.
If the "Handy" restarts, launch Appstarter.
When FireTV is Turned on, a few seconds after Booting up, llama start Appstarter.
I dont need the Original Amazon menu and want to disable it all the time.
The idea is, a rule like "if ktv-launcher is foreground start appstarter", and if i push the "Home" button on remote, Amazon launcher start, llama will recognized that and start Appstarter.
So i dont need to root.
My problem is, llama is very old and not supportet anymore.
So the Rule "app in foreground" doesnt work, and i need to switch to another tool.
On a FireHD10 Tab i used Automate and it works to use a alternative launcher.
Every time i press the Home button, the amazon launcher appear, and after 1-2 seconds automate starts another launcher.
The problem, i cant use Automate on FTVStick, because i need a touchscreen to configure the tool.
I hope, anybody can help creating a Automate flow with the options to check if ktv-launcher is the active app and start appstarter,
or give me a hint how to do my idea without a touchscreen.
thanks
I was able to control automate using a mouse and keyboard but I don’t think you can monitor for foreground applications without access to accessibility services. I hope you can get it to work though as I would love this!
I use Appstarter and Launcher Hijack, and followed the "Disable bloatware..." thread...
Amazon Launcher is not on my device, home button works flawlessly to return me to "Top TV Launcher 2" and it used to work for AppStarter when that was my main launcher.
FTVS2
@TimmyP many Thanks.
LauncherHijack works Perfect.
It doesnt Start Firestopper on Boot, but it catch the Home Button.
I use llama with the "On Boot" Rule and LauncherHijack for Home Button.
Thank You !
happy to help
Hello,
I have modified Xiaomi A1 as I want, but there is a last thing missing. I want to lock the phone by holding the home button in the navigation bar.
I am on stock version so far and I want to use it for some time. Is there a magisk module or any app that modifies the actions on the buttons at navigation bar?
Thank you

Have you tried Gravitybox? You can map hardware keys (tap, long press and double tap) You'll need Xposed.
Thanks man.
I have used gravity on my previous phone but solved my question through Tasker . But tasker doesn't do the same here in xiaomi a1.
I need a simpler solution than that of gravity. Hope someone gets an idea.
You can use button mapper app. I have remapped all navbar keys and it works without any issues.

Where have you been my friend? Great. This get things done and I am using. I wish there was a slightly simpler way like a magisk script, but I got the correct reply.
The only annoying thing that I can't get rid in this phone, is that when I restart, it does not ask for my Pin. I know it has something to do with the magisk script I use to unlock phone by a fingerprint, but haven't solved it yet.
Remove and re-apply your PIN in security settings and enable secure start-up again. As soon as you enable app with accessibility service (as for example button mapper), secure start-up is automatically disabled (there is some vague warning, but very easily missed or misinterpreted). Accessibility service was designed to help visually impaired people and this service is available only after phone has booted up, so this is why PIN/pattern can't be requested at boot time for them.
