X5 Parts - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hey,
My screen got badly cracked, so I took it upon myself to replace it.
However upon disassembly I ripped the small power/speaker ribbon..
The digitiser is easy enough to buy but I cannot find ANYWHERE that sells the power/speaker ribbon.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Replace dead LCD screen!

Hey there,
Has anyone here replaced a dead LCD screen (not digitizer)? IF you have could you tell me the symptoms you were getting. I'm going to try to replace mine but I'd like to be sure that it's the screen causing the problem and not something else.
Thanks!
GG
also, could you let me know where you got your LCD from?
You can get them from ebay for about $100, that all i know of though.
Google lms283gf01 and see if you can find some
Actually, I picked one up on eBay for $28. Yes, that was a new LCD, not the digitizer. It even came with the tools to open the phone. There are good instructions around for a complete dis-assemble and it was relatively painless.
I broke the original LCD, so there was no question whether it "failed" or not.
Well I can't see any cracks or anything in the LCD. I think I'm just going to get a Diamond. Unfortunately, no NFSFAN...

broken digitizer

Hey all,
Had my HD2 for about 3 weeks now, while walking yesterday I tripped and fell, this caused the digitizer to break. I have contacted HTC on a quote for repair. Seeing as they quoted 200 euros, I can't afford to have it fixed. I do have the skills myself to fix the device, all I need is a replacement digitizer. After many hours searching I have yet to find one on sale.
The LCD panel underneath is fine it's just the digitizer that has been shattered. Stunningly it does still responds to input, but having small shards of glass in my fingers isn't ideal.
Can anybody here help?
Thanks in advance,

I have been able to find digitizers for other models from HTC on ebay.
But currently there isn't anybody offering a spare HD2 digitizer, Does anybody know how I may be able to get my hands on one?
I have vacuum packed my HD2 for now to stop corrosion. Hopefully I can find a replacement part soon.
Thanks for reading,

Hi! How did you manage to seperate the digitizer from the lcd without crushing the lcd?? I tried and now my lcd is useless I've found a new digitizer on ebay, but not the lcd screen, and I need both.. Do you know where I can find a new one??

replacement housing spica

Does anyone know a site where to buy that? I have the white version but black is fine also. I would like a full replacement, digitizer included.
Will it avoid my warranty if I replace it? And do I have to open the whole thing to replace the digitizer only?
thanks in advance
I can't find housings anywhere. And beware, I replaced the digitizer, and when I put it back together, the lcd was cracked in the corner; it's glued on with damn gorilla glue I swear, you will not be able to replace the digitizer without hurting the lcd unless you can somehow get the glue to unbond. Also, yes, you have to take the phone completely apart (like, the last step of disassembly in the service manual) to get at the digitizer.
You can find service manuals in pdf on google
Good luck if you attempt anything, but I wouldn't reccommend it!
*EDIT - Yes you will well and truly void the warranty

Broken screen Help

Finally due to rough handling broke the screen ..
there is crack on the glass and touch is recognized sometimes and it isnt recognized sometimes so what do i need to replace ?
scrren ? digitizer ? lcd ? or all ?
and i need the shipping to india (International shippng is fine) so can anyone please add the links of eBay or any other site selling the parts
cheapest parts will be appriciated ...
I'm not sure where to get a screen replacement that will ship to India, but a Google search turned up this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Screen-Digiti...86&sr=8-1&keywords=nexus+7+screen+replacement
Also you will need whatever tools are listed in this guide: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nexus+7+Display+Assembly+Replacement/9945
Most devices have the digitizer, front glass, and the screen as one piece. Sometimes you can just replace the glass and not need to replace anything else, but it varies. Either way, you're most likely gonna need a heat gun. lots of patience, and a dust free environment to do it in....otherwise you will end up like a buddy of mine and having to take everything back apart to remove the cat hair that got between the glass and the screen.
Anyways, hope that helps.

Can Just The Top "Glass" Screen be Removed.

I can't tell looking at repair videos, those seem to be all LCD/Digitizer replacements.
My LCD/Digitizer is fine, I have a small crack in the top glass and I'm hoping it can be removed without removing the LCD/Digitizer.
I've see just the glass for sale, but have no idea if just it can be replaced.
Help from anyone "Who's been there, done that" is appreciated.
TIA,
Dave
It can be done, there are videos on youtube of people doing it, however considering that the screen is LCD you're better off replacing everything (LCD+DIGITIZER). It takes a lot of skill to replace only the glass, and will probably cost the same as a new screen that can be easily replaced with cheap tools.
