Why can't you post there? You could try going into the Nook Tablet IRC channel and asking people there.
Go here and join the channel #nook-tablet
Hopefully someone there can help you.

Hi everyone,
I picked up a Droid X a few days ago and I have been looking into modifying it ever since. So far I have successfully Rooted, De-Odex'd, and installed custom themes. Being new to the android platform, it has taken some time to learn and there is still more to know. I have started to piece together a guide and I am looking for some input from the community to correct/add/remove tips/tricks/tools/etc as needed.
Please take the time to review and let me know what you thoughts are. Let me know what you encountered when trying to do a specific task. For us n00b's out there, let me know what you were unsure of and how you resolved the issue. My goal is to make one source for the Droid X that gets rid of most confusion.
Look forward to your input.
Thanks!
Update 10/26/2010: Guide Complete, still open for suggestions, just PM me.
Updated attached guide and also posted to wiki.

Looks like you put a lot of time/effort into this.
How about integrating that info into the wiki?

Nice work! +1 on zaphod's sug. ping me if you need any help!
Will do, I have some more work I'd like to do on it though. Thanks for the tips and support
Dude...seriously...THANK you. Step-by-step directions are great when you only have a vaguely general idea of what you're supposed to be doing (that's what happens when you still haven't tried to learn though, so it's kinda my fault...).
Hey- this is awesome. Keep up the good work. Don't forget- now that we can overclock - those will be useful instructions since they are pretty confusing for noobs right now.
nice work!
Thanks for taking the time to write this up for all of us trying to hack our Droid X's.
nice guide, i didnt realize the recovery mod was so easy until i read this. nice to have a backup now.
Does anyone have anytips on getting this root to work. Ive installed the drivers and followed the instructions on the guide but for some reason when i hit the root button it gets hung up halfway through it. Then it can find my DroidX. help plzz
Thanks in advance

Guide is a bit out dated. A much easier root method is z4root. apk and support page below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
1. Download .apk, copy to SD card.
2. Enable "Unknown sources" (Settings => Applications => check "Unknown sources"
3. Use file manager to navigate to file on SD card, install. I recommend rebooting before install and again after install, prior to running root command from within z4root. <= may help the process run smoother.
4. Open z4root, tap Permanent Root, let it run, once complete your device should restart and you would then be rooted.
Next step, installing ROM's. Many great ROM's out there, I highly recommend Liberty.
Hey guys!
I have spent the past 2 days getting this one error and after hours of reading up and trying to get all the facts straight, I just can't figure this one out!
I have cyanogen mod 10
I have Skrillax unlocked bootloader v8
and then I have all the files necessary for Ubuntu and Bodhi. Plus recoveries.
Mostly, I have been trying to follow
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22201465&postcount=351
single post, which works great up until the point of booting! I seem to get an error that says:
"busybox: 'busybox' is not an absolute path Could not find /dev/mmcblk0p7! Dropping to a shell.
sh can't access tty; job control turned off"
(there's more after that but it doesn't seem to pertain to anything of importance that I can tell)
I just can't get over that error! I read about, but it seems like there is some dialog between other users that happened, and the conversation got changed way too fast that I couldn't understand what was going on!
If I am in the wrong area just let me know and I can move, or repost my question on a different thread. I just can't seem to find the direct answer through google, forum search, or even *shiver* Bing.
Thanks for the views, thanks for the help (if you can!).
The odd one out!
Looks like you are one of the unlucky owners of A500 with a different file system than most A500. You will probably only be able to use the external card method for now. If some one compiles a new Kernel (recovery) then you will be able to use internel card method. Check the Dual Boot thread in the General section I made a more detailed explanation. Hope that helps
Thanks!

Try installing CM10 latest nightly using the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941858
After you follow the instructions on the previous post, I'd suggest you look into installing android on the internal memory. Its pretty good if you install the nook color app and you get more memory in the long run.
I've attached 3 screenshots to show ya what it looks like running cm10

Trying to fix my Bluetooth issue, as chronicled in detail here.
Wanted to ask you devs where Bluetooth configuration or a related error log is stored on the i9505G so I can take a look at it; something is stopping my BT from being able to turn on; it used to work fine pre-root (heck, even post-root for a day or so).
I figured the developers would be the best people to ask since you'd be familiar with the folder structure and config files.

KrossX this is the second time you have posted questions in the development forum. As I stated before these are for Q&A NOT here. Please refrain from posting your questions here and READ the XDA users guide and forum rules again. There is a reason for this. I am glad your part of the community and your questions and comments are noteworthy you just need to put them in the right place. We read those threads as well! MJ
This is for Development ONLY
Yes PLEASE no name calling we all make mistakes and this thread will be moved soon to the proper place
And to answer your question Kriss you could do a logcat but if your not familiar with that do a search and provide more info on what your trying to do ( configuration?)

I thought that since I was aiming this more at the devs it would've been in the Dev forums. Sorry for having you move yet another thread of mine.
Didn't mean to cause a ruckus; never really got a chance to read the post by deaffob above before it was edited by the mod so no offense from whatever name-calling was done, haha.
Thanks MJHawaii; I will search for logcat and see what I can pull up.
Any ideas (referring to attached pic)? I filtered at the Error level in the logs for the term "Bluetooth"

The first error there looks like it may be relevant, but you'll need to get a more thorough logcat in order to trouble shoot it more. Please grab one with adb and post it to pastebin or here in a [ code][ /code] box.

Good news and bad news.
Bad news: I am unable to run logcat; I am unable to access my device via USB ever since the root and when I tried doing the logcat steps, yet again it couldn't connect to my device.
Good news: I believe the solution to this issue (being unable to access my device via USB) may also lie in the logs along with the bluetooth issue. The reason why is because of this error message I received while trying to reinstall the USB driver (attached pic); it points to not being able to "start" a device. I think this will all eventually tie-in with some services not running correctly on my phone.
So, is there another way for me to post a log for you kind folks to review on here via my phone directly?
If I can do that via catlog app on my device, let me know what sort of log (which options) I'd need to run and post. Thanks!
Well, did a restore to stock + root. That didn't help. It changed the Baseband, Kernel, and Build versions but did nothing to fix my issues with BT and USB connectivity.
I think I am going to start researching ways to start from scratch. Like a factory reset/wipe back to first-use condition. If anyone can point me towards some reading material on how to do that safely and wisely, it would be much appreciated!
I just ended up doing a factory reset (Menu-->Settings-->Backup & Reset-->Factory Data Reset) and that resolved the issue (while wiping my phone).
Bluetooth issue is resolved; tested it just now and it works just fine again. As is the USB issue; as soon as the phone was connected to the same exact PC as before, it was recognized and showed up as a device that I could open and explore.
My Kernal/Baseband/Build versions are all back to the ones I had when I got the phone from the Google Store, so that's comforting too.
Thanks to all those who attempted to help!
Hello, from Spain. (Sorry for my English)
I have this problem in my nook simple touch: appears on the screen: "encountered a problem that requires a system restart"
I've tried all sorts of things I've seen in this forum and in others (update to 2.0.1; recoverys, formatting, etc. and nothing works.
I would like to try installing version 1.0.0 of nook, but I can not find the .iso.
Could someone help me? Thank you very much.
Luisa
Do you have ADB working?
A logcat will tell you exactly what the problem is.
Hello
Thank you for contestarrme.
1. The Nook can not be opened.
2. Nor is turned off completely
3. After it seems a restart, the message "Encountered a problem That requires a system restart" appears
4. Nor do I make the PC recognize it.
5. I tried to fix it using this software uy following the instructions of the forum to do so, but without success: "sd_2gb_clockwork-rc2", "Alpha-FormatTouch-2", "touchnooter-2.1.31", "install_stock_1.1_recovery "" NookManager-0.5.0 "
6. Unfortunately I can not find the original Nook software, to introduce it, but would not know how to do because the PC does not recognize the Nook
7. If you have any idea and can explain it, I will be deeply grateful.
8. Final note. I've been looking for "logcat", as I say, but I have not found the way to do if my computer does not recognize the nook. Is it possible to do another modo¿ give me a link where you explain?
9. Many, thank you very much !!
The good part is that the NST is almost unbrickable.
The bad part is that to get things going is a bit complicated.
(I've also lost track of where the stock images are.)
See the thread on OmapLink. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2579521
When you get that error, does it restart itself or do you have to push a screen button?
If you're using Windows, does it "bong" when you plug in the Nook?
Does Windows ever say "unknown device" or ask for a driver?
What happens with a long push on the power button?
I'd stay away from these "super-one-click-nooter" things, they aren't very good when something is wrong.
Hello
I try to understand the link you sent me.
Meanwhile, I answer your questions:
1. When you get that error, does it restart itself or do you have to push a screen button?I am the one that presses the button, to restart. If I do not push it, it does nothing
2. If you're using Windows, does it "bong" when you plug in the Nook? Effectively, when connecting the nook you hear the typical sound, but it does not appear between the connected devices (although once it appeared ... I have tested the cables with other devices and they work perfectly)
3. Does Windows ever say "unknown device" or ask for a driver? Never:
4. What happens with a long push on the power button? If I hold down the button, the display remains frozen (read forever). As soon as I stop pressing, it starts to start (nook.by Barnes ...)
5. More: I tried to press the lower left and right buttons, and a message appears that says install failed
thank you!!

Hello
I have been reading the link you mentioned above. The truth is that I find it difficult. If you have any idea (I do not mind putting the Nook at risk) I'm ready to take it. Thank you !!
Hi.
I've been this weekend trying to figure out how to fix my nook. After trying noogie "and not getting anything (the screen freezes with the message rooted forever) I have come to the following conclusion: maybe I could fix the nook with a backup of some person who wanted to give me yours, and then put it in The nook with the program Roadkil's DiskImage. What do you think the idea? Do you think someone would have a backup of their nook that could lend me? Thanks
Sorry, short response for now.
You know that the point of Noogie is just to put up the splash screen, then mount the entire internal SD card over USB?
It doesn't have any user controls after that.
No, i did not know. I thought it was to restore the nook to an original version.
Thank you
Hi.
I guess the silence indicates the few solutions that exist for my Nook.
Thank you very much for everything, Renate. It has been a pleasure.
Gracias!!
Maybe this?

Awhile back, XDA member @the_alternate posted a link for a region reflasher. If you can get the NST to at least reset, you might be able to rewrite the innards by that method. The link is https://sites.google.com/site/xcdguides/nook/nookregion
Sorry for the speed of my response.
It can be a little tricky to get things working, especially:
If you never turned ADB on.
If you never got the Windows drivers working before
If you never made a backup.
Can you get Noogie to work?
Do you see new disks on your Windows machine?
Do you see any "unknown devices" in the Device Manager in Windows?
Hi, Renata. Before writing I tried the solution you give me about the region change, but it did not work. I think I'm asking for something impossible and, besides, making you waste your time. I very much appreciate and very sincerely the help you have given me A way so disinterested, but taking advantage of Christmas I will buy a new Nook.If you think, we finished this topic. Thank you, thank you. I hope you enjoy the year 2017 and everything is wonderful in your life and in the lives of people around you.
