Asked this before, but may have gotten lost in the shuffle, so thought I'd try again...
So I've been looking at the Sense 3.5 ROMs, and was hoping to get some opinions on the pros and cons of each... my friend just flashed Energy and seems to like it, but I was kinda looking at the new Warm or the three versions by "Root" on themikmik forums... Anyone tried all three? What makes each of these different?
I tried Warm TwoPointThree did not like it too much mainly cause the battery life sucked for me. The rom itself was nice i liked it aside from the battery. But i went back to energy 3.5 get really good battery life running the Anthrax kernel.
But just experiment with the rom's and figure out what one runs best for your handset. What runs good for me might not run good for you.
I also went with Energy after trying Warm. For some reason Warm just would not work well with my phone. It was very buggy no matter how I tried to fix it. I believe this was an isolated incident though. I like Energy because I get tons of battery life and it just works well.

Ive tried 2 varieties of roots roms they are pretty smooth but i experienced some freeze ups. The best 3.5 rom in my experience is energy. Extremely smooth and no funny business @ all. Lol, i also paired it with the supersonic anthrax kernal, so it really is perfection for me...hope i helped...

Thanks for the replies. What is Radience? I don't think I've seen that one in the development section.
I find most of the good sense 3 roms to be very similar. I think radiance is probably the most developed and best performing. Those blaze devs have been spending a boatload of time on sense 3.5 since very early on. Vins final release and warm are also very good.

JohnTheMan you should take a look at evo-4g-db.com as this gives you a qui of all the ROM's that are available for the EVO 4G and a link to the forums so that you can read for yourself what the developers and testers are saying as to what works and does not. I would post the link but still a NOOB on this site.

Noob, maybe I have to go back and run warm for a while longer.
Just curious here, what does warm have that say radiance or energy doesn't that makes u say its more complete? Just wondering. Thanks.
In my opinion energy at this point. It's smooth, fast and looks nice. I am running the Anthrax kernal and I get great battery life and no problems what so ever. Like the developer NRG says, "It just works".
i didnt like warm because of the feel and battery life energy is awesome on battery life but mms doesnt work. boost mobile

The dev for this rom doesn't post here, I wish he would... This has been a great rom for me, and I have tried about every rom out atleast once with the exception of chevy. All phones not created equal, this has been smooth straight out the door. For anyone looking for a new rom, id highly suggest giving this one a try. I am in NO way affiliated with this rom, but I enjoy this forum above the others and think others here will enjoy this rom also! BTW, this is a themed rom.

Best rom i've used so far if u want speed, reliability, and color. This rom is very stable for me at 1.45. It gets warm but only under heavy use like movies gaming etc. I score a 2500 on benchmark with low voltage @ 1.2 and runs best at that setting for me with the longest battery life usually around a full day with heavy use and consistent music playing.

Question, Have you run into any problems with Apps, like Adobe Flash 10.1. I'm using Droid Eris after rooting but ordered new Droid X as replacement. So far, Eris runs much better, but I want to find a stable rom to install on my DX. I want to start rooting my DX but didn't want to brick the phone.

DarkSide is Ultimate!!
Hey gang, some of you know me from starting out here in the HTC Windows Mobile arena. Since moving to Droid, I was worried about you folks at first, but now I see that you are in very good hands. Your Droid membership and development seems to be moving along nicely. The gentleman who initiated this thread is quite right...this is an awesome ROM and I would welcome others to give it a shot - you will not be disappointed. For the record, I'm guilty, I have definitely gone to the Dark Side.
This ROM is definitely underrated. I tried it as an almost last choice. I can't believe that there is not more buzz over this one. It is the best of the bunch that I tried. IMO anyway.

What do you guys think is purely the fastest sense rom, I don't care abouth how it looks but just how fast it is.
see my sig.
either will do.
I also hear good things about this.
I'm sure others have other opinions.
(edit: i know you dont care how it looks, but any of those suggestions actually look fuggin slick too.)
Thanks ill try that out
Hands down, MikFroyo. Used most of the popular ones and I do like some other Sense ROMs more depending on my mood, but MikFroyo is easily the fastest. EViO is very fast too although I haven't used the newest version.
Myn's Warm RLS 5. I thought MikFroyo was faster for a while, but then I flashed Warm RLS 5 again and realized that it was all in my head. They are both very fast though, not a huge difference.
Be sure to check out Unleased R2...that one was fastest sense ROM for me
mikfroyo was way faster for me then myn's 2.2 rls5. i loved how it looked and it seemed to me that things were a little smoother then myn's.
Myn's, without a doubt. Sleek, fast, and very responsive.
I have tried just about all of them now, and none of them are that much noticeably faster than stock Sense, and none are near as fast as CM7. I want to like Sense but I'm not willing to sacrifice the performance for it.
EDIT: I don't mean any offense to the ROM developers... it's just how Sense is.
Try them all out with different kernals. Then you decide!
MikFroYo all day

Personally the Sense ROM's are too laggy for my taste. I run CM7 and then load on a bunch of customizations to make it look hella awesome
I'll agree with u on that one, but the taste on sense 3.0 and 3.5 is awesome. it runs ok for me, its not too laggy tho
Sent from my Droid Incredible 3D using xda premium
The best way to find the best rom for you is to make a nandroid of your current setup and try whatever rom you are interested in. Because what some people might find to be the best rom here you might not like. Its all based on taste. I will say this, if you want speed and battery life go aosp. If you want pretty widgets and can put up with lag go sense.
Yea I'm down with sense

Wildstang's roms have always been solid for me. I would recommend his 3.0 Rom based on the desire hd, it is optimized for a single core device with WVGA resolution so it is just as smooth as our OTA. Battery life is pretty amazing, I get about a full day out of the stock battery with moderate use. That's from about 6:30 am to about 6:00 pm with about 20% left at the end of the day. If you chose his rom, I would wait until vfour drops tonight or tomorrow morning to flash so you don't have to start all over after you set everything up.

I'm loving the 3.5 sense with 3D movement. I don't think I'll go back after this ROM. I've tried Nils and Newt. Both are very similar. But very awesome.

Geeze... I've gone through so many ROMs on that dInc in the last 2 days I can't keep them straight. If I'm right, that's the same ROM I slapped on there last and it's working like a dream. It seemed like an honestly finished piece of work. I'm so happy not to be dealing with that butterfaced CM7 anymore. No offense to the devs, but two things really irked me a little in looking for ROMs. First, names and OPs that didn't describe what the ROM was. Second, no mention in the OP of major known issues... like a camera that FC's after every pic??? And I saw one that didn't even have a download. Instead it pushed you off to Rootzwiki. Kinda goofy, I thought. Don't even ask me to point fingers because I wouldn't even if I could. Frankly, I don't remember anything I flashed except that last one... because it worked and I liked it. The others got a 5 minute interview and didn't get the job and were promptly forgotten.
I can't mess with the 3.x roms to choppy/laggy. I think the 3.0 ports show just how outdated our hardware is. Ive just been rollin with the 2.3.4 GB release. The speed and battery life is great.

I've gotta represent for Jermaine. I'm running InSensitive Minimalist 2.3.1 right now and it is great, very fast, smooth, stable. Basically the OTA with all of the bloat and more removed, including the Rosie launcher.
Why not just go AOSP, you might ask? Well, I feel like the Inc just runs better with the Sense framework, and I'm a sucker for the Sense apps, Mail, Camera, Music, Gallery, People. That ROM is the best of both worlds, IMHO.
I've tried a few Sense 3 ROMs, and they were a lot of fun...but they ultimately felt like an awkward fit.
But here's the bottom line...there is no *best* ROM. There are a lot of options, especially on this phone, and you have the freedom to find the one that best suits your needs and preferences. That is the beauty of Android, of XDA, and of the many great Devs.
So...happy flashing and much respect to all the Devs.

Looks pretty awful as far as lag goes. If there was a free version of NFS I'd try it out as a comparison but unfortunately $10 is way too much.
I've never been happy with any Sense based ROM. Always slow and atrocious battery life. CyanogenMod for me. Much smoother and more customizable. If you want to stick with Sense I really can't give a good recommendation. The day I left Sense for CM I never once looked back.

That's interesting, I actually prefer sense. Cm actually had worse batt life on my phone anytime I used it in comparison. I would suggest using the ultimateinc Rom 1.1. I've had my phone on with light use using tinys kernel since 8 this morning, It's 630p right now, and its at 70%. I would say that's great batt life.
