Well, I think in the next 2~4 weeks almost all Xooms will be on ICS on Usa, outside it, may have to wait (like me :-( ) but it will surely come

For the USA at least...
The Wifi Only Xoom (MZ604) is undergoing a "soak test." If the "soak" is successful and doesn't cause any major issues, then it will be pushed out to all MZ604 units. No ETA of the "push to everyone" yet.
To the best of my knowledge, the Verizon 4G/LTE Xoom (MZ602, which also includes the 3G Xoom MZ600's that were sent back for 4G/LTE upgrade turning them into MZ602) hasn't started its "soak test" however Moto has sent invites out a few weeks ago. No ETA on when that "soak test" will start. And again, it will be pushed out to all MZ602 units after successful "soak"
Per the invites to the soak tests, they are to be confidential, and moto doesn't want those selected to be talking publicly about them.
Those with Verizon 3G Xoom MZ600 that haven't sent theirs in for 4G update seem to be left behind at the moment. I haven't seen mention of invites to a project from MFN for those units. Speculation.. Could MZ600 users be left behind?? Since the MZ604 Update from the soak test was incremental and relied on a particular firmware level to install, and the MZ600 hasn't received the HLK75D or HLK75F firmwares which the MZ602 have, one can only guess what Moto will do.

How do I know wich one I have?
In mi Xoom I can only see HLK75D... it's 3G Verizon, non upgraded to 4G...
I wonder where my lowly Xoom FE fits into this equation.
What about the MZ601?
If anyone knows I want to know about MZ605, and wants to know if someone tested it with a ICS custom ROM ;-) and ALL works...

Sorry, it appears that VZW did release HTK75D for the MZ600 also per -> http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/xoom_3g.pdf
How do you know which you have?
The non-technical way...
If you have an original VZW Xoom, purchased BEFORE they offered the free 4G/LTE upgrade, but you never sent yours in for upgrade, then you have a MZ600.
If you sent your 3G VZW Xoom in for the free 4G/LTE upgrade, and got it back a week (or however long) later, then you have a MZ602.

As usual the MZ601 gets left in the dark i have a uk 601 and we only got the promised 3.2 update a few weeks ago i can live without 3g for now thats why im on the team eos wingray nightly ics rom work great
And what, I'm gonna have to wait for months to get the update to ICS? The folks in the USA are already getting it. I hope they release it in a few weeks because the disappointment will be huge. After all, we don't live in the Stone Age, what's the problem to do it professionally - like Asus. In fact, this Xoom version is very common in Europe and Moto should not delay the updates and keep us without any information at all.
Still no ad hoc. Lame.

I just got this from another forum:
"just got off the phone with Verizon... all 3g versions will get the 3.1 update by midnight EST Friday."
Like the title says: just a rumor. I know nothing else. But it sets my mind at ease to know that I won't have to wait weeks. I'll stop doing the hourly update thing and just let it happen (OK, I might do it again, but not as often...). Can't wait to have resizable widgets and mouse support!
Google are doing a few things right in following apples lead when it comes to announcing updates and releasing updates on the same day, but as someone who lined up on launch day for my Xoom, and who still hasn't got an update it is still terribly frustrating...
Yes their are options for people who just cannot wait, and I understand that OTA updarea have to be managed to for load/ capacity reasons but I almost think the best solution is an either or solution. OTA update or for those that can't wait then an official tethered update....
I wanted to be able to go to work today with an updated Zoom, and stick the update in the apple fan boys eye

oh, man. i thought i am obsessed with my xoom
Do anyone know about the European 3G update?
I guess "3G" for Verizon is not WCDMA, its EVDO.
As someone who also purchase their xoom on launch day and has yet to receive the update, I am equally as frustrated. The load/capacity argument however seems weak with the small number of xooms sold to date. If they can't support that number...

frustrated here also. Got mine 9am the first day they had them available. No update yet for me this morning. Tried setting date ahead, it did check but nothing new.
Just curious, has anyone with a deactivated 3G Xoom actually received the OTA?
Some postings across several forums refer to the fact they only got the OTA after they activated their service with Verizon.
It seems suspect to me that that would be the case since any deactivated device I had with Verizon still received updates through WiFi (my OG droid and the last update (3.0.1) for the Xoom as examples).

I haven't received one yet. But if I do I'll post on here. Because I bought mines from a local shop brand new and never activated any 3G.
Have any non-US Xoom owners (Wifi or otherwise) received the update?
I'm a UK Wifi owner myself and this anticipation is killing me! I'd have preferred if they just gave a solid date, even if it is a few weeks ago, rather than suffer the vagary of 'several weeks'
It's annoying, I have UK 3G model, but no mention of rollout to international markets anywhere.
I would love to have it before I go to New York & Connecticut at the end of the month. It'd be nice to be able to upload my pics from my Nikon D7000 to the Xoom for a bit of extra storage.
Also, I wonder if I could get it connecting to U.S. Wi-Fi? Although I've heard it's based on Mac addresses and not the location you connect from. Here's hoping though! ;-)

Agreed, this is frustrating. I asked motorola on twitter; they ignored both times but continued responding to US users. Oh well. Shouldn't have expected any difference, considering how much of a farce their original release turned out to be.

So true. I just don't get what the big difference is that they have to roll it out that way. I can't help but think that chauvinism plays at least a small part in this.

Wonder for how long we h to wait
I have the 3G Xoom that I bought the second day after it first came out. I even bought it at the Motorola site.
My question is, how can some wi-fi model get the update before me? I still don't have the update OTA yet. Isn't the wi-fi model suppose to come out after the 3G version. I wonder how this update work?
I heard there is no such thing that wifi users will get after 3G users , at least officially from google.
I think it is kind of scheduled update, batch by batch. So individual case varies.
Hope you will get one very soon! And I did heard Verizon mentioned they will make sure their 3G users get it before end of this week?

It is true that complaining does not make the update to my Xoom any faster.
However, we all have a brain and we think. When thing doesn't make sense, we have to question it.
If the wi-fi version comes after the 3G version then it is logical that the 3G version should have earlier updates. If it is true that the update is done by batches, then the 3G batches should be done before the wi-fi batches. Wi-fi version came out about 1 month after the 3G version.
Now if number order does not discriminate between the 3G and wi-fi version, then that is another story.
That is why I stated in my first post by my statement of "I wonder how this update work? "
both models are basically the same. they were both "born" at the same time in a lab somewhere. just because the 3G version went on sale first does not mean it should get updates or anything special over the wifi version. people who purchased the launch day product feels a sense of entitlement.. and thats fine, however the Google servers dont discriminate and the updates are pushed out by a certain method Google is using. you dont have to understand it--thats just how it is.
it has been proven that the Google servers dont discriminate because in fact some wifi versions are getting the update before the 3G versions. i have a 3G version and the wifi version sprint started selling on may 8 and the wifi version got the update a couple days after my feb 24 launch day 3G version. both of which have gotten the update before you.
so relax and wait for the update. im in the southeast and depending on where you are could also play a factor. you will get it perhaps tonight or maybe you have it already since your last post?
I have a US purchased Xoom, I live in the UK, am away on holiday in Fuertaventura (Canary Islands) and got the update today...
Ran smoothly,all OK.

I thinks its like lottery, Google said in a couple of weeks, that is the time to finish the roll out, if its June already and you haven't received anything then start crying and complain, in the mean time just hold on tight, and check for updates, or do like me and others, build your own OTG and do it yourself.
On a side note...
Just because you bought the 3G/4G version with 1000 years warranty and all the accessories and a contract for 40 years paid in advance doesn't mean you're gonna get it first...
Following that same scheme then The GOLDEN xoom's that were given at the oscars should be the first ones to receive the update. anyone heard of them?

LOL! About to be?!
Tomorrow, it'll be 5 months since I bought my Xoom. I expected that getting LTE into the Xoom would be Motorola's number 1 priority given the unusual nature of its work-in-progress release, but reality set in over two months ago when Motorola's CEO tied the Xoom getting LTE to the release of the Bionic. That showed me that our Xooms weren't the priority for Motorola.
Live and learn! And what this episode has taught me is to never trust Motorola ever again.

Seriously, trying to figure out why people are so upset.
Was there an expectation that the Xoom would be updated to LTE before any other LTE tablets were released on VZ?
When I bought my Xoom, it was because I needed an Android 3.0 development device. So for me, the primary purpose was fulfilled just by having the Xoom.
As in, 4g for me is nice to have but not the whole point of the purchase.
So you guys who are all honked off, is it because you really, really need 4g?
As an aside, this is also the first product I've ever bought which didn't have all the hardware capabilities at purchase. Has there ever been another product with a similar post-purchase upgrade?

They didn't, though.
They advertised it as the first LTE-upgradable tablet.
Edit: I do remember that Best Buy briefly had an ad which claimed first VZ LTE tablet, and that the sdcard was functional. The ad got posted here, but disappeared pretty quickly.
Best Buy has a terrible reputation for technical inaccuracy in their advertisements, though.
Heck at this point I was just thinking about upgrading my xoom 3g Verizon to the galaxy tab 10.1 because if u got your xoom thru Verizon and log on to your account it always says upgrade now.But I see no point when Asus will be releasing a tablet with Tegra 3 in October.

Can't agree more. Xoom 2 lags, freezes, reboots and has still an ugly honeycomb....
Something else interesting...even though they unveiled the Nexus 7 tablet at I/O, I don't really think it's a true successor to the Xoom. It's a 7" tablet that runs in portrait orientation by default, and the stock ROM runs in phone mode, not tablet mode.
Don't be surprised if early next year we see a real, honest Google Experience successor to the Xoom with a 10.1-inch screen and the OS running in landscape tablet mode. Until that happens, I'd expect to see future Android versions on the Xoom as well as the Nexus 7.
I wonder how much of the UI they will change....
Utterly ridiculous that the original Xoom will now likely see Jelly Bean before the Xoom 2 even gets ICS.
Motorola will be lucky to get another dime from me ever again, and I used to have a lot of goodwill for the company.
I'll also only be purchasing Google Experience devices in the future.

The original Xoom is a Google Experience device (in the US anyway). The Xoom 2 is not. That's why the Xoom is getting the update and the Xoom 2 probably won't. It's no more or less complicated than that.
The international Xoom models (which are not GEDs) probably won't see an update to Jellybean either.

Why? Just like with ICS, there will be an unofficial (think EOS etc), 3G+WiFi build not long after.
I wish I had a WiFi xoom as well, but hey, I got this Verizon one for $20 so I'm not gonna complain! It's effectively a WiFi xoom since I don't have service, but I still have to wait that extra Verizon time.
I've always wondered why Google/Motorola/Verizon never pushed the Google Android Experience in their ads. It probably would've helped sales.
