Flash Different Software On Your Smart TV - Android Software Development

Hi
Just a quick question, but with all the new 'smart' tv on the market, is it possible. Once rooted (Like with samygo.tv or other software like this) to flash software not intended for the TV?
So If i Have a samsung smart tv with Internet @ TV Could i go in and flash google TV onto my samsung tv?
Would this be possible?
Thanks,
Theo.

I know that with the google TV boxes no, now there are smart boxes running Android, kinda like a knockoff.

If your TV is a Microsoft-certified DLNA device you can open the video in the video player, swipe up from the bottom to bring up the context menu, and select 'Play To'.
You can also swipe from the right in and select 'Devices' to get to the same menu.
Are there TV's like that, I mean MS certified - I have never seen info about it in any shop, regarding any TV.
Since I will be buying one soon I'd love to know some examples....
Or any DLNA TV will be able to do it...?

Any DLNA TV should be compatible, yes, but Microsoft added a restriction that only MS-certified ones would work.
I can't give any examples as I haven't looked into it. I do know that if you set it up right you can play to Windows Media Player as a DLNA player.

Xfinity TV Go app compatibility?

Will the xfinity TV Go app function on this android platform?
I would think it wouldn't be a problem but since it won't work on my Android TV Box, thought I would ask if anyone has tested it?
Thanks.

Turner Classic Movies... Is it Possible for Nvida Shield?

Hello just recently I purchased a Nvida Shield TV cause its faster then amazon fire and it uses APKs . Anyway my father is old time guy and he watches Turner Classic movies on his tablet so I thought its an apk program it should work on the shield sadly everything i have tried has not work. So i am turning to the experts of this stuff....You guys can you please help me get this to work for my father he loves his black and white TV.
Thanks for you assistance
You can install ES File Explorer (On your, (His) Phone, and the Shield TV, then make a backup of said 'App' from the Phone, then transfer that App to the Shield TV. Using ES File Explorer to install it.
The problems start when you start assuming that Android TV = Android (For Phablets). If the app was only built for for Android Phablet. It most like will have rendering issues. Phone style Portrait vs Landscape. But, the real rub will likely be in the Interface as the Android TV does not support the Phablet Touch UI. So if in turn your App does not allow external Remote Control. Then you may find the App is pretty much useless.
The best advice, for you, and anyone else in your Shoes would be to contact the App Maker (e.g. TCM?), And in short demand an Android TV App.

Which TV is easy to root?

Hey guys
I recently purchased a
Samsung UE65AU9000
region: Asia/Pakistan
This is my first smart TV earlier i was using fire stick and installed some moded, I am not happy with this TV showing too many ads, youtube is full of ads and other apps like Plex also, i can't install Cinema HD,
I want to ask which TV is easier to root and can install these apps mainly Youtube Vanced and Cinema HD. ads is the main purpose for rooting the TV, i am still within return policy and can return it if i find a good TV to root.]
TIA
otherwise whats the purpose of a smart TV, if you can get everything on firestick.
Every samsung TV I've ever bought, I do not connect to the internet and I plug in a Chromecast. YMMV, but if you like the firestick, I would go with that. The purpose of a smart TV is for them to advertise to you.
First: don't used Vanced on a TV. Its broken. Use SmartTubeNext.
Second: You can't root Samsung TVs, since they run a locked down version of linux instead of Android.
Third: If you want upscaling go with Nvidia shield, otherwise Firestick/Chromecast is solid too. If your looking for a TV with OS built in try Sony, TCL, or any tv with Android built in. You will not need to root the TV, although if you wanted to get rid of ads on the homescreen it might be worth looking into.
And finally, question: are the ads on the Firestick, Samsung TV, or both?

Both have ads. Use a Pi-Hole

Haayot T95Z Plus android tv box

Yesterday I received my android tv box from AliExpress.
Because I wanted a recent I ordered the Haayat T95Z android TV Box (android 12).
The most of it works fine but I thought every android tv box can be used as a cast receiver. But not this one.
After some research I found out there was no Google cast receiver in the system apps.
So it seems there's no android TV on but just Android.
Preinstalled apps include Airscreen and if I turn this on I can cast to it but only photos and no Videos.
I tried castreceiver but no luck for videos.
I could find and install Google cast receiver from June 2022 but there is no interface for this app and it is not enough to install it to let it act as cast receiver.
Now I wonder if all of these T95Z plus boxes share the same problem and if there are custom roms you can install and those custom roms come with android TV.
Or are there apps to implement google cast receiver with support for videos.
Can anybody help?
