Hi!
Which call recorder app is the best?
Someone use a call recorder app?

EDIT :
Not from speaker, maybe directly?

Hi!
No one use a call recorder app?
I am 10-12 hours in car. It would be nice to record some details from my customers.

No idea, I'm sorry...
Maybe, you can search on custom roms :/
I use Total Recall; it works well, but it's not free. Once you have it set correctly, it records both sides directly without requiring speakerphone. I'm pretty sure someone around here has implemented native call recording for the Note, though it may require flashing a custom ROM or something.
@ maxh!
Do you use TR with galaxy note or some other phone? Which Version have you installed? There is also a S2 Version in the market.
thanks & regards

I use it on the Note. I'm not using the GSII version, I'm using the standard version. I exported my settings and posted them in a thread here I think in the Q&A forum.
I use Total Recall (Galaxy 2 version) on the Galaxy Note.
It works fine. But it is not free.
Sanity will work best, but before use it, you have to apply record MOD.
search ' recording on galaxy Note' in general section, I have wrote that thread some time before.

That's why I didn't go with the S2 version; the recordings were too low, and I didn't want to be stuck with one version, one set of settings, then what when I get a new phone? I played with the settings on the standard version until both sides of the conversation were recorded loud and clear. The S2 version is nothing but the standard version with the settings preconfigured for the S2, then locked/removed.
@ dr.ketan!
Work your solution also with the last open firmware? XLA3?

My settings are in this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366783 there's one post explaining the settings and one post with my export file.
its really good, testing it is very easy, and the automatic recording option is really good, thanks dr ketan once again, btw i failed to arabanize my phone but i found someone did it in gaffar market, thanks.
Hi!
I tried Total Recall today. But "the other one" is low sounding, Volume set to maximum.
Is any settign to change the Volume?

Do you know any software for Windows Mobile 5 to recording conversations automatically ? I have 1gb card , can record over 20 hours of quite good quality conversations.
Do you know any soft which will do it automatically after I answer or call to somebody ?

try vito audionotes
I have just looked on the Vito Technology site but on the PPC version it mentions nothing about telephone conversation recording so I am assuming it doesn't offer this feature on the PPC, just on Smartphones .. is this correct?

I've tried "Vito Audionotes" and "Resco Audio Recorder" and both got the same problem on TyTN; both only records your side so are useless...
Yes, it is a problem Viva, the way I have got round this is by using the Tytn headphones to make a call but I just wear one earpiece in my ear and I hold the other earpiece next to the inline microphone (you could even tape it there).
I have only ever used the inbuilt note recorder before so when I saw this thread I was hoping that there was 3rd party software out there that would record the other side of the conversation automatically so I wouldn't have to do it this way.
Anyway, thought I would mention my method in case it helps anyone
How about this
http://1800message.com/products.aspx
starfish_001 first point
1) Download either or both of applications below - NOTE: PM Recorder will only work with some Smartphones, not Pocket PC Phone Edition devices.
what is the differebce between PPC Phone and Smartphone ?
I thought my TyTN is a Smartphone but now I think it's a PPCPhone ..
So, there is nothing which can record conversations. It's a pity , phone with so big storage should have this option built-in... what you think ?
The option with some server which will keep my records it's not good for me, I wouldn't let anybody to send my conversations anywhere..
Ok, I will be still looking for some solution and let you know if find any..
Cheers guys.
Yes, TyTn is a PocketPC phone. The most obvious difference is that Smartphones do not have a touchscreen and have a numeric pad.
My C500 (Typhoon) Smartphone wouldn't record telephone conversations either, so I don't think that it's PPC specific. The incoming call simply isn't passed through the OS for it to be recorded.
I read somewhere (sorry, can't remember where) that it was a conscious decision by Microsoft as some operators didn't want that functionality and they were trying to get as many operators onboard as possible. But Nokias can record conversations - even without a beep notification to the caller - so this info may not be correct.
Guys, please DO use the forum serach engine. I've long answrred these question in ALL call recording-related threads started before June 2006.

LivePVR
Moi herra Ruotsalainen. Your article doesn't mention LivePVR from Softtrends. I tried it and it works, but not for the purpose I wanted it. I am looking for a proper answering machine for WM5, like SmartAnswer I had on my old Nokia 6600.
Hmm...
LivePVR does not work in recording phine calls. They finally admitted this on the handango product page, too. You will need to use it in "speaker" mode like all others... Its just technically not possible.
Well, I have just read the article about recording via the speakerphone but I still prefer my method which I mentioned earlier in this thread.
My method records both sides of the conversation, I think the recording I get is better quality than when you record via speakerphone and the conversation remains private ... I am quite happy with my workaround
When I have wizard, i use SPWM5CallRec.cab (somewhere on the forum) and ....hmm it's record all? (don't remember for 100%).

It will not record the other party's voice, as has already been pointed out in my article (see link above).
However, i's still teh best call recorder app available for the PPC, particularly if you use the WAV postconverter I've discussed in the article.

They did false advertising? Everyone who paid for that pretty crapy app could sue them for that. After all, the day after they've released LivePVR I've pointed out in my review it's NOT able to record the other party. That is, they were surely able of the app's inability of this.

Yup, it directly doesn't mention it; however, the Audio Recorder Bible (linked in from the PMRecorder article; http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/112005SoundRecorderApps.asp ) does and it also links in the related LivePVR review ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1218&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 )
The extend of my test was one phone call. I realise now that I did the test with the speaker on.
Microphone picking up the sound from the speaker . . . bleeding edge, huh?
So finally...
I started this thread once again , I know, there is a lot about that on this forum. I just wanted to put this in to TyTN section, because I was dreaming that this model has no hardware restriction and maybe somebody wrote good app for recording phone calls.
I see, it's still impossible to do that on such a gadgetty mobile phone...
It's a pity....
If anybody find the solution please continue this thread or even send me a message please.

I'm continuously pushing the issue in internal MS forums. Hopefully HTC / MS changes its approach and does implement what Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens etc have been offering for 7-8 years.

OK, will post a note here too when there is a solution. Also make sure you regularly visit the General forum here for my latest posts.
As title really.
I've done a search on the forum and it seems there is software available that will record calls, but this will only work if the hardware itself supports it. Does anyone know if the Touch HD will work with any software to support call recording?
The other work around I discovered doing a search on the forum was to put the phone into speakerphone mode and use call recording software, but this is obviously not ideal.
So, what's the best way to record calls on the Touch HD?
Thanks

You got it in one. Thats currently the only way.
Not quite
Resco Audio recorder works fine for me, once configured it collects all calls as mp3's in a folder of your choice (e.g. on sd).
it's not freeware though, but no speaker needed.
Not technically sure about the Blackstone, but I have both a Polaris and Raphael. I've seen comments about both of those phones being unable to record, yet I've never had a problem recording with VITO Audio Notes (without using the speakerphone trick). It's also a commercial product. If both of those phones can do it, I would suspect the Blackstone is probably also capable.

@speed_pour,
Please can you explaine the speakerphone trick, I also use vito audio notes! Today I see this trick, without using the speakerphone, for the second time also in this post, but I have no idea how it works!
I can only record both voices when I activate speakerphone in settings, if I don't, I only can record my own voice during a call????!!!!!
Thanks in advance!

Don't know what to tell you, I just made a call 5 minutes ago on that phone, and without turning on the speakerphone it's still got both voices on there. The other side's voice is much lower volume, but it can't be sound bleeding over because it also works when I'm using a bluetooth headset.

Its funny they copied exactly the same registry settings that I made a cab for *HERE* 8 months ago and put a pretty little interface on it
Can anyone please confirm that this phone can indeed record (clearly) both sides of a phone call and how it is done?
id like to know it as well, since i've been using it on previous HTC with pleasure. With the HD2 it only records our own voice.

If it only records own voice - it is useless, it's not just "doesn't work quite well", it doesn't work at all to better put it.
Could you please test it with the reg tweak and let us know if it made it work properly?

Even if the registry tweaks dont work on the stock rom, in my understanding they pretty much always work on a custom rom so once olipro has worked his magic and done HardSPL for the HD2 the custom roms should allow 2 way recording.

I believe most of the people participating in this thread already know the speculation, otherwise the question wouldn't need to be posted, but we are waiting for a first-hand confirmation that this is actually possible and how exactly it is achieved.
I've tried with Resco Audio Recorder.
I hear my voice very well but the voice og correspondent is lower. Forced to pump up the volume to listen afterwards.

Previous solution for recording calls - works perfectly for Touch Pro 2 (2-way clear recording).
I install it on my new HD 2 - 1 way recording (record microphone + speaker echo). I'm very upset about it... I thought my new HD 2 is totally perfect... Now I need solution (if only it is hardware possible). Wish it is possible. It is very usefull function for me!
Sorry my English

This seems to confirm that the registry tweak wont work on a stock rom with the HD2.
Im afraid everyone who finds this function useful will have to wait until HardSPL is done so that custom roms can start being flashed and then hopefully the registry fix will work.
You think it is SOFTWARE problem, not HARDWARE?

Yes I do. For years it was assumed that HTC products werent capable of recording incoming calls because of Hardware limitations but someone discovered that all it needed was 3 registry entries to enable incoming recording. I made it into a cab and brought it to XDA and now thousands of HTC devices can record both sides of a conversation. Unfortunately I also discovered from feedback of people trying the fix that it only seemed to work on cooked roms (pretty much any custom rom), which means in the process of cooking a rom some part of the rom is either modded or a file added that makes the registry entries work.
We did start doing tests and thought it was linked to the cprog.exe file but noone bothered to take it any further.
Today I realized that the calendar tone in my Galaxy S was way too short and that it only played once. After looking through all the menus I had to ask my friend Google and I was chocked to find out that it's not possible to change the tone in Galaxy S.
Is this really true? And what's worse is that the function is available in vanilla Android. How can they remove something useful and dont replace it with something better, or at least ANYTHING?
I tried Calendar Snooze but it wasnt that good. All I want is to be able to change tone and also so it will keep playing until I do something.
if you use the forum search button you will find that it has been discussed and solved already. it should be in this forum or the vibrant forum

I'm trying total recall and are in contact with developers through forums for the various bugs of the program that works badly on s2
only function that works well is the automatic recording of calls, but it does not work well if the bluetooth is active
manual recording is difficult to activate because they have not put the activation key. and even this with the BT malfunctioning
thanks
You don't tag a general thread [ROM] lol! Here was me thinking there was a new Lite'ning ROM in here...... one that actually supported phone calls!
