[HELP] Soft brick ( ? ) with onecosmic's RC2 - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi everybody, i got a nice big problem with Onecosmic's 4.0.3 RC2.
I flash it for the first time some day ago and all works good, yesterday i need to restore as factory by the menu and then..it is witch off!
My smartphone now:
If i plug the device to usb it doesn't do nothing, sometimes the little wheel appears , sometimes no.
If i press the central button appears again.
If touch the back and menu button they switch on.
If i switch on the device appears the logo Galaxy S gt i9000 and the color of picture of boot for 0.01 sec and then switching off, sometimes it reboot endlessly.
And then, i can sent my mobile in Downloading mode (Menu - Vol DWN - PWR) but i can't sent my mobile in the other mode (Menu - Vol UP - PWR).
Please i need help cos i really dont know what i can do
Onestly, is my first big problem with costum mod :s
EDIT: I fix up my phone, i need use Odin for flash stock rom and a .pit file, i think it is a good BUG report for One cosmic's 4.0.3 RC2. I can't post in dev. forum

This is a bootloop not a bug. Way too many people without a clue flashing ICS at the mo.

One moment, i dont like it. I think it is a bug or something becouse i went in setting and the i touch on restore data as factory (oh, i dont know the right translation cos i am italian) and the mobile phone bootlopping.

Its a no wipe rom
So for example you can
wipe
instal rom
use
or
wipe
instal rom
wipe
instal custom kernel
use
and can not
wipe
instal rom
wipe

Im having the same problem as you! I'll keep you posted

Let me know when you have some news I fix up my phone with Odin, flashing a stock rom and original .pit file but, as you can read, i lost ICS. I think i will waiting for a Stable release

This is a good site for troubles
ics.samsung-updates.com/trouble
see:
Phone is in boot loop
can't get to Recovery (I9000)
Put phone in Download mode and use FixRecovery.tar.md5 in Odin as PDA, uncheck auto-reboot option.
After flash reboot to recovery with 3-button-combo and CWM flash proper ICS kernel and reboot
For trouble after follow instructions from HOW TO FLASH section proper for Your device

help me with my Desire HD

hi guys .. i have HTC Desire HD it was working very well on version 2.3.3 then i decide to downgrade it to 2.2 so i can get root + recovery by following this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152233&highlight=downgrade
i followed the instruction EXACTLY as it was posted after i get to bootloader and i made the update the phone restart and died for almost 5 mints then it switched on HTC logo and keeps vibrating for 2 mints then it works normally .
each time i switch it off it needs 5 mints to turn on after that it keep vibrating as i have said even i cant go to bootloader mode (by pressing volume down + power ) but only with terminal command or by using Ultimate Multi Tool .
by the way :- my phone is 2.2 + S-Off + recovery .
Install rom manager and flash recovery again. Then try and flash a new rom.

I think the problem is that you are using stupid fonts on the forum haha
Erm, try and use a full wipe script, look in the Android Revolution thread.
Probably a corrupt bootloader, maybe try flashing it again?

no need to use those words man ,,, i tried full wipe by using this FULL_WIPE_1.5_EXT4_.zip
wipe it, Reflash and maybe re-root!
re
Just the bootloader...
I had a similar problem when I tried to root and flash ROM's on to mine.
In the end I started the whole process again. I went right back to the beginning as if my phone wasn't rooted. It seemed to work, I don't know but maybe first time round I made a stupid mistake and was a little more careful on my second run.
Anyway, I would suggest re-rooting your phone, then flashing a ROM again. I know it's long but sometimes it's the only way!
Good luck!
To op.
I would recomend using ROM Manager from market, and from there, flash Clockwork Recovery (CWM).
I don't know what recovery or what rom you have tried, but i could point you in the direction of a CM7 rom (Cyanogenmod) or something like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040 . That might do the trick..

First time flasher

Finally got my tab back and I am now thinking of flashing a custom from on to it. So I just wanted to know which is the best rom to install on my version P7500 and one that as the least problems. This will be the first time i have done this so how easy is it and what's the best way to do it with out effecting your flash count
I can suggest 2 different ROM´s.
Overcome v2.3.1, all is working, but is Honeycomb 3.2.
Or, when you not need the camera, use ICS 4.03.
(Camera driver is not available at the moment for ICS)
My favorite is AOKP, Version Milestone-4 and update build28.

Here are some hints:
Installation:
Make sure you're on the latest CWM (root your TAB)
MAKE A NANDROID Backup (in CWM)
wipe data/factory reset in recovery
flash ROM
flash Gapps
reboot
wait for the ICS its coming soon

When you make a nandroid backup how restore it as last time i tried this when I did the wipe data/factory reset it wiped the phone clean including the back up

Your guess is as good as everyone elses. I've seen estimated times pass already, and several say another month and longer.
Seems the only agreement you'll get is either soon or later, to never.

Nandroid make backups in /mnt/sdcard/clockworkmod/backup,
factory reset does nothing there.
I would also suggest overcome 2.3.1 while waiting for ICS release. I actually use the camera :-(. Otherwise I would be using a custom ICS ROM.

How good is overcome 2.3.1 am on the original rom 3.2 and it still feels like it struggles at times
Give the rom a change and flash it, you will see it is awesome,
but the custom ICS roms are also for daily use ready.
The only possibility to determine which rom is better for you,
is to flash it all.
You can not damage your TAB, and with Odin you can anytime back to stock samsung firmware, which were found on sammobile homepage.
Will this effect your flashcount
How do you root the 3g version there used to be a guide on here but i cant find it
This guide is the best and it works for the 3g model as well

Samsung has already rolled out ICS for galaxy S II and the ICS for GT 10.1 is supposed to be released soon but soon is such a bad word to use since its always used to evade responsibilities!
Anyhow I am hopefully Samsung will push it out before end of Q2 as promised before but what saddens me is that the next Android Jelly bean is right around the corner yet all the companies are struggling to update their devices to ICS. Android's biggest problem as of right now is fragmentation and Google should look into it seriously!

Did you also flashed the correct file,
there are two full versions available?
GT-P7500 / 3G-WiFi
Overcome_10.1_Series_v2.3.1_P7500_Full.zip

GT-P7510 / WIFI only
Overcome_10.1_Series_v2.3.1_P7510_Full.zip
First of all there is no way to avoid that 'flash count' thing...
Now, there is no need of rooting if u are going to flash a custom rom like ICS (preferably AOSP) or Overcome....coz they come pre-rooted...
1) Grab the latest odin flashable CWM recovery from http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/recovery/cwm5/p4/recovery.tar.md5
2) Flash the above downloaded CWM in the PDA section of Odin. in the Download mode (press the vol down button while turning on the tab...when two icons appear, press the vol up button and again confirm by the vol up)
3) Also Download the required Custom Rom .zip file and copy it to the SD card root of ur Tab..
4) Turn the tab off and while restarting again enter bootloader mode by keeping the vol down key pressed...now use the vol down key to navigate to the left icon nd use the vol up key to confirm...now u'll enter CWM recovery...
5) Use the volume keys to navigate...nd power switch to confirm.
6) Wipe user data...cache nd dalvik cache (in advanced)...
7) Now go to 'install zip from SD card' nd 'choose zip from sd card'
8) Now choose the zip file dat u copied earlier nd confirm...(if u flash ICS then u also hav to Flash Gapps without a reboot in between)
9) After everythng is done reboot your tab...nd ur done...
10) Enjoy....nd Happy Flashing..!!!

Stuck at Language selection . . . . Help Needed

Been thru a every post possible , flashing between 6-8 stock roms and 3-4 custom roms , I still get the same problem from every one of them . Whenever the phone starts up , either I click on the green android logo or language selection , I will be stuck . The phone just freeze or reboot after a min or two . At times , I will get stuck at a bootloop at the " Samsung " screen .
All these started when I downgraded from Criskelo v7 back to Gingerbread using PC Odin , flashing stock pre-rooted LC2 rom . After a boot up from LC2 , I get this problem suddenly and it hasn't go away since . Even try changing kernels from speedmod to franco to CF root yet I still get the same problem . Any suggestion will be helpful and appreciated .
P/S : Sorry for my poor english
No guarantees it'll with for you, but I have had similar symptoms some time ago, after downgrading from ICS to GB. What helped in my case was wiping cache and dalvik from recovery (or using jbroid script). Operation should be safe on GB kernels, but, should you want to try, check again on superbrick causes to avoid disaster.

I have to either take out the battery or long press the power button to turn it off . Not sure if it's the case for official stock rom but i have this problem as well on custom roms .
can you use the 'press all four corners to skip setup' trick?
I had this issue when coming from ICS to GB, and had to clear data from google services framework

[FIX] Auto rotate and accelerometer bricked on JB roms

Hello! I have been observing for the past few weeks how the accelerometer on my device stopped working after i flashed a jellybean rom. The curious thing is that if i installed any other rom (sense or non-sense ICS or GB) my accelerometer started working perfectly.
So i followed a few recomendations from other users who told me to use Aahk and return to full stock then re-root flash recovery and flash jb rom.
I did that and guess what everything was fine until today when i switched from a sense 4 rom back to jb and the problem with auto rotate was back.
I am not a dev but something in the sense 4 rom is killing the accelerometer for any/all jb roms flashed afterwards ( yes i have wiped everything 3x even with ARHD superwipe script)
And now the good part, i was experimenting today to see how i could get back accelerometer functionality without going through aahk re-stock procedure and i found a way:
1. Download this stock rooted rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382235
2. Put it on your sd card , reboot in recovery , wipe everything except sd card (obviously) and install it
3. Let it boot at least once, go through initial setup, reboot recovery wipe everything, and now you are ready to flash jb with working auto rotate
P.S. to reboot in recovery with stock rooted rom you have more options ( no advanced power menu)
1, From adb : adb reboot recovery
2. Download quick boot from playstore ----> https://play.google.com/store/search?q=quick+boot&c=apps
3. Pull battery out then put it back in keep volume down and power buttons pressed until you enter bootloader from here navigate to recovery and you are done.
I hope i am right. I had but only one dhd to test.
don't work for me :s
have test with this stock rom (full) and super stock rom 3.20 from inspire 4G thread;
i have a DHD.
with hboot 0.85 it work (before have hboot 2.0 from aahk)

Doubt it has to do with the rom you had installed before, but it has to do with the kernel etc. Have not checked the link you posted above but I am certain you have tried the JellyTime Rom and it is true that the accelerometer does not work. However, jellybean is still more than anything still new at best to our device and it will take time for it to be fully stable, taking into the account that HTC never had plans on upgrading us to JellyBean

Just to clarify things... There is a cahce partition in our phones (Im not talking about Dalvik Cache)
The data in this cache partition won't be erased even with a full wipe.
When you install a JB rom, you CAN have conflicts in it ( not all users experince this ... )
So the only way , was to use the RUU, because the process it is using include wiping this cache partition ....
However , the cause of this conflict is still unkown , even if one day , if i rememeber, Synergy pointed out that the problem had to do with the upstream in custom JB roms.

The first time i returned to stock i used aahk and i fully returned to stock ( s-on ) and then i rerooted and flashed recovery but with the help of the aahk devs i realized that i didn't have to go full stock actualy you don't even have to use ruu you just need a stock rooted rom zip to flash in recovery and allow it to run once.
This is easy to do just flash it like any other rom in recovery let it power on and let sense start then reboot recovery and flash jb and you have working accelerometer and auto-rotate

First point, returning to stock doesnt mean you are making your device S-on again
Second point, I did not say that your solution isnt working.. It is just that it did not work for everyone (see my thread)
Third point, Accelerometer is stil working on JB even if your auto rotation doesnt work... The proof ??? you can use manual rotation with an application form the PlayStore( unfortunatly, I forgot its name)

The accelerometer in my case didn't work at all on jb roms. I have tried, exactly as you suggested using andro sensor from play store, and my accelerometer was on a gray background and nothing was changing in read values as i tilted the phone. But from what i have heard it is also a radio related issue plus that pesky cache partition.
But i'm sure that the devs will figure a out an easyer way my friend.

Mysteries ... There are still a lot of mysteries
Anyway, the important is that we can use auto rotation again whatever the solution is....
However, I hope too that devs will figure out what is the real culprit even if I see this as not being their priority for now

Brick? Hardware/Software bug?

Hi guys,
Yesterday, i turned off my device to sleep. When i turnet it on, it restart 3 times in sequence, than i take off battery , waited 1min e turned on again. But, it wasnt load OS, it freezed at Samsung logo.
So i decided to try restore the custom room (Google Edition), but i cant entered at cwm recovery, freezed downloading mode screen. Than i tried to flash with odin cwm again. Flash sucessfully but could not load cwm.
Than im started to getting panic, nervous and patience gone. I downloaded from sammobile the stock room and flash with odin. It isnt work again. After flash, the phone boot and freeze for loooooong time at screen with blue text recovering boot and Samsung logo.
I tried from KIES too, but have no sucess...
I dont know what I must have to do anymore. My ideas, knowlodge are now over. Is that any possible about triangle way cause this ? My device doesnt boot anymore. Always freezing screen. I waited for many minutes, like 20minutes and nothing.
Files that i downloaded:
- I9505_VJUBMG3_STOCK_RECOVERY.tar.md5
- I9505VJUBMG3_STOCK_KERNEL.tar.md5
- I9505VJUBMG3-PRE-ROOTED-ODEX-FULL.tar.md5
- I9505VJUAMDM_I9505ZTOAMDM_I9505VJUAMDM_HOME.tar.md5
- and Philz recovery, CWM recovery.
Guys, what really happened?
funny thing
tha same happened to me last week.
I fixed it by downloading another version of Stock Rom for s4 and flashing it with odin.
The stock rom I used had only 1 file (1.7gb) and flashed it using only the pda button.
maybe it will work for you also.
oh and by the way
I used team win recovery project instead of CWM recovery

Yeah, i think my problem isnt the room, because i have 2 here, one default from sammbile and other I9505VJUBMG3-PRE-ROOTED-ODEX-FULL.tar.md5
My problem is after flash the room, it isnt boot. It stop at Samsung logo with blue text recovering boot. How long did you waited for this? Or you just disconnect cable after reboot and flash again to teamwin ?

Flash the new Brazilian rom with odin ( http://www.hotfile.com/dl/234152687/723aa16/I9505VJUBMG3_I9505ZTOBMG3_ZTO.zip.html ).
Wait reboot. Power off, and reboot in recovery mode, wipe data + cache (Vol Up+Home+Power).
The first time, you need wait a lot of time (1~20 minutes).

TWRP isn't CWM, didn't see you mention it yet.
Today i must to give up, because time is against me. I leave the device at samsung assistence. Lets see what they will say for me.
I dont have screenshots, but im sure that i follow all those steps correctly. I tried many ways with odin, ticking unticking things, step by step.
By the way, im so happy with all here tried to help me. The beautifull word that i can say is Thanks, thanks guys!
Weird think: Switching from S4 for X10 is a punishment! My old and warrior X10 have no more battery life, like a mini screen now, slow cpu... but its ok, is better than my x810i.
Thank You guys (all people that help me), for everything.
