Did you come from a full wipe before flashing it? also try going into cwm > mounts and storage > USB storage. it will mount

Yes, always. cwm recovery or the app?

oh, you meant recovery.
theres:
mount/data
mount/sdcard
mountsystem
which one?

mount /sdcard, obviously
I'm not running Clockworkmod, so I can't check. But I believe it's the lowest option under "mount" menu. Something like "USB mass storage".

well technically, it is connecting, but the computer just wont recognize the device.

Can you try it on another PC or OS like Linux?
Sent from my HTC Panache / CM7 using xda premium.

not at the moment. I'll to download straight from my phone's internet and attempt to flash a gb rom from faux123 and see if it connects.

OK... I'm doomed. My last hope is putting stock mt4g froyo rom

Most likely, as mentioned, one of the data lines (most likely D-) has been physically disconnected/damaged during ROM installation, when you plug and unplug the phone a lot. No new ROM will help you, if you can't mount the phone in recovery. Change USB cable, and if it doesn't help - it's your phone's USB port.

oh boy...but it doesnt make sense to me how the computer can detect the device and not recognize it/

Tained Vanilla problem?

I am not sure about anyone else, but with Tainted Vanilla I can't seem to mount my SD card anymore. I didn't post this in the thread for it because it seems as though that thread is completely dead.
I can still push it on the SD card using CMD, but I can't mount it for some reason. Is it just me or is this something left out of TD?
Try unchecking ask me from the connect to pc settings

I did try that. Either way I never got a notification and I was never able to mount it for some reason.

Sounds stupid but do you have an external HDD connected at the same time? Sometimes when I have an External HDD connected and then connect my phone it will mound then dismount in a loop and cause the HDD to do the same thing? Sometimes the phone won't mount I just un-plugg to be safe. Worth a shot?
Not trying to be mean, but when u have a issue with a certian rom post it in that thread.

I am having the same issue. I just cooked a rom.. and i cant test it out because TV isn't mounting my card. also, when I take it out to plug into a card reader, i have I/O errors when I try to transfer items onto it. Even when I copy paste the items. I can't seem to get ADB to work for me anymore, so I have not tried through CMD yet

I have no external hard drive. When I ran the stock, Evil Eris, and Sensable, it would mount fine. As soon as I flashed Tainted Vanilla it no longer mounted. I know Tainted Vanilla is uncompleted (for all intents and purposes), but I was mainly wondering if this was an error on my side, or if this is how Tainted Vanilla was made.

SD card issue

So all of the sudden I get a notification that my memory card had a problem and that it's "read only".
It was totally fine then this. Is my card corrupted or is it a hardware thing?
I can get it to recognize it....then it goes right back to read only.
I've used the same card from my G2...to Nexus One...to Vibrant to my now MT4G.

try formatting it with a card reader...
Probably messed up. Mine did it too and only thing I could do was format.

I will tell you the truth. You will lose everything. After this you will learn to backup your sd card on your computer.
I wiped out mine too. Somehow, my card became corrupted and would not mount. I lost everything. Still pisses me off.
Good news is there is a stock 'ROM' here and you can just start over. I know it sucks, but think of it as a learning experience. What else can you do?

One question I had is: Is there a way after it wont mount to get it to mount? Like... can you go into terminal and mount it at all?
Hope this eases you mind man.

You can put in into another android phone and it will work just fine (most likely). Has happened to me multiple times in G2 (part of a reason it went back to t-mo).
Alternatively, you can try USB mount option in ClockworkMod recovery and see if phone will recognize your card in recovery, you can then copy everything over to PC and re-format the card.
Wait! Before you reformat, plug it into a Windows machine and run checkdisk on it. I just had this problem yesterday and this fixed it for me. I didnt lose my data or anything because it wasnt reformatted. Just check both the boxes on the dialog box when you run checkdisk and hopefully itll work for you too.
---
How to run Chkdsk from My Computer or from Windows Explorer
Double-click My Computer, and then right-click the hard disk that you want to check.
Click Properties, and then click Tools.
Under Error-checking, click Check Now. A dialog box that shows the Check disk options is displayed,
Select the Automatically fix file system errors check box.
Select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start.
I too have been experiencing this problem, and have tried almost everything to fix this crap! but no luck, I'm not sure what's causing this, but I've tried several SD cards already and even replaced my phone thinking it was the device card reader, but I still have the same problem... Hope someone can shed some light on this matter...
But to the OP before you go formatting it, you can try to save the files on your SD first by going to recovery > connect device > mounts and storage > mount USB storage. You should see your files from the SD card so you can back those up at least.
Good luck!
Had that happen to me when I popped in a new card. Put the old one back in, same thing happened.
Turned out that the restore didn't work correctly. Was able to restore the stock backup I made after rooting and haven't had issues since. I played around trying to get different kernels working, and had to restore a few times. The one time just didn't take fully.

I got it fixed without loosing anything! Plugged it into a machine that I just updated to win 7..and it said there was a problem with my card and if I wanted windows to see if it could fix it. Yes. It worked!
Check disk is it!
Backed up all my card and plugged it back into the phone...and it works great again.
Thanks for the feedback and help guys

For future reference, if I find any bugs with the latest version of cyanogenmod 7, how do I downgrade to a stable version of cyanogenmod 6?
Tonight is a big night for all CyanogenMod 7 user we expecting RC1!!!
Use ROM Manager to install a 2.5.* version of Clockwork Mod (this is the last option in the menu). Then go to Clockwork Mod and either flash a non-CM7 ROM or restore a backup.
Facing similar problem.

[Q] MAGLDR problems...

Hello,
I have flashed my phone 3 months ago, everything worked just about perfect. Now i tried to install a new rom of android and i get these:
When i press vol. down and plug the usb in the phone to get in the "colored screen", the phone won't enter usb mode. After i remove the usb from the phone it says "serial". (PB81100 HX-BC / SPL-2.08. HSPL 8G XE / CotullaHSPL)
When i choose option 4 USB MassStg from MAGLDR, it allows me to see the contents of the sd card and to write data on it
When i choose option 5 USB Flasher , the phone freezes, i can't get back from that option , and it alltso won't allow conectivity to the computer
When i choose option 9 AD Recovery, it sais ADNROID LOAD RAW ERROR: ERROR: Cannot read ramdisk image
When i choose option 3 Boot AD NAND, it boots perfectly well into the rom i am stuck with and it works just fine but i can't acces my sd card at all... it's just like it's missing , in fact that's what android sais.
The SD card i'm sure it works perfectly cause i have put it in an adaptor and tested it with a card reader.
My usb cable is working just fine.
Is there something to do in this situation? Can i somehow wipe magldr and install it again?
don't wipe magldr and install it again, you don't have to. just repartition your cwm through USB flasher and you should be good to go.
one more thing, never use USB mass storage from within magldr,it corrupts data, use a card reader.

When i try to repartition i get this
Rapi.dll is missing
An error has occurred
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (736)
On the colored boot screen i can't get my phone to run into USB mode
Rapi.DLL errors,,99% of time caused by older version of windows mobile device center (or activesync).
Google wmdc, find the manual download page and install wmdc.
Zune, wp sdk, r all u need. Every thing is in it. Wmdc is for wp6.5 and xp. Not good for 7 and wp7.

Hi marvlesz, would u mind explaining a bit abt how accessing usb mass storage from magldr could corrupt data? Or maybe from your own experience? If possible, then i now what to avoid. I've flashed my phone thrice so far all during some time of flashing accessed sd card using usb mass storage in magldr. I did not notice any problems since i restored only contacts and and some app datas.

Wrong, activesync is for XP, wmdc for vista / win7. However the wmdc that comes with win7 often gives the rapii error, hence downloading the manual instal package.

I can not explain it myself, neither have I experienced it before.
But from user reports, it seems that MAGLDR is, for some reason, unable to correctly transfer data. Especially large files(Maybe that's why you weren't affected).
You may have just been lucky, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Yap i know that, but its a little bit long aft i got hd2,its android. But b4 that it was wp6.5, which used to connect, and b4 that my hd7, which never connected to wmdc. I searched for the problem, and figured that wp7 is not comaptible with wmdc. Only wp6.5 is.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
But were talking about flashing a winmo phone, even if you're running wp7 on it, its still a 6.5 phone as far as flashing is concerned, and always will be, so its the activesync (wmdc) drivers that are needed. Anything you do in bootloader gets treated as a 6.5 flash,, regardless of what os is on/being put on, the phone.
Thank you guys!, i have managed to fix it. I think the problem was somewhere in my computer cause i was getting so many errors. I have connected my phone to another computer and it worked just fine. Thank you!

HD2 Ics sd access

Hi All ,
I have hunted high and low and cant believe I have to ask this ,
is there a way to access sd via usb/pc on Htc hd2 with ics 4.0.3 - other than removing card totally ? ,
thanks
Dual mount sd app !
works a treat
It should work without any app..... just connect your htc via usb with pc... then choose in pulldownmenu "activate usb" and it should be recognized.
Other way is to boot into recovery cwm and mount it from there as usb storage.
For me im using icecreamtosti by xylo and it works like it should be.
Good luck!

Try "SD Formatter-SD Association" google for it and to be on the safe side then a fresh install of the ROM which I don't know you're using should work.
