Here is the link to download the latest version of the supercharger script:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
Note : Look at the 7th post for some added notes.
Note : If you want to learn how to powershift (shift quickly and easily) between different supercharger settings and how to place script manager widgets on your home screen for powershift, follow the guide in 8th post.
Go to the end of the post and download "V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update9_RC4.sh.pdf" and if you don't know how to use it I'm posting the instructions:
First install busybox installer by JRummy from the market. It has both free and pro versions. I use the free one but you can download the pro one if you want.
Now run it and install Busybox v1.18.2

Next place the downloaded file "V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update9_RC4.sh.pdf" at the root of your sd card.
Now install "script manager" from market and run it. click browse as root and you'll a screen something like this:
Now click the script and run as root. The screen you would see would be something like this:
512hp settings are recommended since we have 368mb of available RAM. I personally prefer option 6 which is "balanced" as choosing option 5 which is "multitasking" freezes your phone when you play high end games since apps are not thrown out of memory when RAM is required which results in lag. So, unless you don't know what you are doing, just go for option 6.
Read whatever is coming on the screen and in the end "superclean and Reboot". If it doesn't appears on its own, choose option 30.
After reboot to check if the script is running or not, again run the script as instructed above. and if you see that the Prior V6 minfree values and current minfree values matches then the script is running fine.
The following screenshot may help you understand:
If you wish to install nitro lag nullifier then the following screenshots will help you. I personally didn't find it very useful but you are free to try.
Now return to driver console and choose option 30 which is superclean and restart.
Nice guide I just want to add that I tested this script on the latest cm7 nightly for two weeks. In the end, it bogged down the phone and cm7 handles memory better than this script does.
I would stick to non cm/aosp roms only with this script.

I find it useful with sense roms as aosp roms don't need to manage a whole lot of resources like sense.
You missed that for the script installation you need busybox installation
Couple of things... you should probably use build.prop instead of local.prop... it works better. Also, newest version of busybox works fine. The reason the old one was meantioned is because there were problems for a couple of versions after the recommended one. Same deal with local.prop... since the G2 doesn't even use it. zeppelinrox's guide is rather old. Either way works fine but just from personal experience, build.prop is better along with the latest version of busybox. Just install the full version from the app. Also, 512 balanced is great for normal use but you can (and should) use the 512 aggressive for games and even 768 super for heavy resource games like ShadowGun and stuff like that. Also, you should meantion powershift for quick changes between 512/768 versions (minmax)
One last thing.... here is the beta for RC5: goo.gl/Ss8Py
Thanks for a good guide and also, of course!, to zeppelinrox

I prefer to use build.prop in case local.prop doesn't works but as far as I have used the script, I didn't find any problem with local.prop so just a note for those who are not getting the script running with local.prop, script will itself ask you to use build.prop in case local.prop doesn't works. However if you want to use build.prop instead just read the instructions going on the screen and choose to use build.prop when prompted.
Regarding the newest version of busybox, I would recommend to stick with v1.18.2 unless you have something very specific which can't be acomplished with it.
Unless zeppelinrox says its fine to use. It may be fine for some and not for others, so for the moment stick to v1.18.2
Since our device just has 512 mb RAM onboard so i would suggest to stick with 512hp settings unless you are going to run heavy resource consuming app or games or anything.
512 aggressive settings are a good suggestion if you are going to play heavy resource consuming games like shadowgun or MC3. But that is not a good suggestion for general use as it may cause Rosie restarts as it will kill most apps running in the background.
So, if you want to use that, switch the settings after you are done in the same way as directed.
I'll try to update a guide about how to make a widget for it once I find some time.
As quoted above "Also, you should meantion powershift for quick changes between 512/768 versions (minmax) " I didn't understand what you want to say. Would it be possible for you to elaborate a bit?
Thanks in advance
And above all thanks to zeppelinrox for making such an awesome script.
Powershift and SMWidgets installation Guide
Powershift is a feature of supercharger script through which you can easily shift between different supercharger settings.
Now on a first note there are four possible options to us. These are:
512hp UnLeeded : Multitasking (apps are not thrown out of memory easily, this is useful for multitasking but may result into lag once you have run a huge resource consuming game such as asphalt 6 or modern combat, etc.)
512hp Leeded : Balanced (this is the eprfect compromise between multitasking as free available RAM for foreground application. Apps runnign in background are killed once free RAM is required for foreground applicastion.
512hp Super Leeded: Aggressive ( this makes the foreground application god of system and almost any no. of background applications can be killed to free RAM for the foerground application. This is useful for playing 3d games on sense roms)
768hp Super : This is not intended for our device since this setting is for devices with 768mb RAM onboard but sinogr has reported that it's useful for running huge resource consuming games as shadowdragon on sense 3.5 roms.
So feel free to use at your own risk.
So taht's for the info, now lets get to the implementation part.
First step is to run all the above mentioned settings in the supercharger script atleast once to enable them in powershift. What I mean by this is that run supercharger script and choose above mentioned settings for your device atleast once and then you are set to go.
How to do this i've already explained in my first post.
This is how the menu looks like:
Now you have to choose option 23 which is powershift.
Once it is complete, exit the script and go to the powershift folder which is located in /mnt/sdcard/V6_supercharger/
Now all the four settings will appear in this folder as shown below. In my case I have already run then as root and marked then as favorite so you might see a different icon. Don't worry for that.
Now click the script, click root and favorite as shown below and choose to run.
Once you have run all the scripts and marked then as your favorites you'll see a screen something exactly like this once you go to powershift folder.
Now exit script manager and go to an empty home screen, long press on an empty area untill the widget box pops out like shown below.
Install SMWidget addon for script manager from market and choose it from the widgets list.
Once you'll click it you'll see a screen something like this:
Choose "Run one script" and choose one of the available settings out of the four as shown:
Repeat this procedure until you have selected all the four settings.
After you are done, your home screen will have four widgets as shown below:
Use them for easy switching between different settings.

Yeah, alot of it is a matter of opinion. Whichever works best. The script gives you the option of either/or so... the end user can pick and decide what works best for them. PowerShift (aka option 23) lets you quickly switch minfree (yeah not sure where I got minmax from lol!) values. They are located in /data/v6_SuperCharger/PowerShift_Scripts folder. You can locate them in script manager app and add as favorite or create widgets for them. Basically, it quickly switches between 512 unleaded, superunledded, super 768, etc... without rerunning the entire supercharger script. Good for gaming, multitaking, or balanced.
Been running the RC5 beta for over a day now and it works pretty good. Might be worth a try for some. Oh, and I do use CM7 and it works nicely. It does help to Engine Flush or reboot once a day. But I use alot of resources (somewhat like Sense) so I guess will only help some AOSP users.
Wow... Nice guide
Reminded me to update the user prompts about powershift script location.
I now have things more organized and only a couple of main files remain in /data
Most stuff got moved to/data/V6_SuperCharger folder - which has a powershift subfolder - so it's more of a mirror of the sdcard file structure.
btw for RC5 test 3 I've bulletproofed the bulletproof apps feature LOL... works FLAWLESSLY!
Havent uploaded it yet... just watch the twitter box in my sig
I run Energized Blue 4.0 based on RCMix with Supercharger V9 RC5_test2 (Balanced, option 6 + lag nullifier)...much better results, though not entirely sure why. Plus, did "unsupercharge" before going for version 9. With version 8 I used to "miss" some sms and had to install ghostly.
And thanks for the great guide + thx to Zeppelinrox for the awesome script

Update to my prev. posts: still missing sms, figured it out when Ghostly SMS got it and the stock Sense 3.5 did not...happens to about 5-10% of sms + very likely when music player app is being used (likely sucks memory like mad).

The whole point of the script is to make apps like that unnecessary. Definitely not recommended.

Introduction to the new Overclocking Daemon
Click to collapse
This ROM features a completely new way of Overclocking and managing screen states.
The History
But before explaining it further, let's talk about previous solutions.
There are several different approaches to archieve "screen-state-scaling".
That means basically that the govenor changes if you turn the screen off and changes back to normal when turning the screen on.
This is mainly used to restrict the amount of CPU usage (the frequency in fact) during screen off. This can lead to a major battery life increase.
The solutions so far were:
App like SetCPU, which change automatically the govenor based on profiles
integrated solutions in the govenor itself
Both these solutions have major problems.
The one with a tuner app is always a little laggy right after turning on the screen because SetCPU (or any other CPU tuner) needs some time to change the govenors (up to 7 seconds). This leads mostly to major lag in the lockscreen.
The second solution is the smartass govenor. It has already a screen-state-scaling included, so it reduces the frequency when the screen turn off.
This could be a really nice solution but it has some problems too.
Smartass most of the time is not really stable and has problems with its frequency scaling.
State-of-the-art-solution
So we (more precisely rmk40) thought of a better solution.
He wrote a native C Daemon which changes the govenors instantly without any lag.
This leads to major performance improvements right after turning on the screen and in the lockscreen.
But at the moment this solution is a little bit harder to configure. We are plaing to make a GUI for this, so you get the same comfort as using SetCPU.
Nevertheless you can even now adjust the daemon to your needs.
Be aware that the daemon only works if all CPU tuner apps are deinstalled. Otherwise it deactivates itself.
How to adjust the daemon
Click to collapse
The daemon is configured with 6 files in the folder /system/etc/virtuous_oc/.
There are 3 files for the wake state and 3 for the sleep state. For each state one file for the govenor, one for the minimal frequency and one for the maximal frequency.
You can easily edit these files eg. with RootExplorer or any other app which can edit system files. So you can adjust the frequencies and the govenor for each state just like with SetCPU.
In order to get the available frequencies for the current kernel, just open your favorite terminal app and type
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies
You could also use adb shell to show the frequencies on your computer.
To get the available govenors use a similar approach:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors
Please make sure, you are entering the right values in the daemon's config files.
deejay, not to question your motives, nor your talent, because you churn out more ROMS than any other dev on the A500 forums, but whatever possessed you to port the Thrive over to the A500?!?!?
I had this tablet for three days last week before taking it back for a full refund.
The initial build had the "infamous" sleep bug built in right from the factory. Toshiba was aware of it, and as of last week were supposedly working hard to correct it.
It has a very nice stock video player in it, but other than that, IMHO the rom was horrid!
Knowing you, you've probably already worked the sleep bug out of it, even though the devs at Toshiba couldn't lol!
Wow! That was quick
Will be havin' a go on this
MJ-12
How come no other responses? This is either brand spankin new or after they run it it killed everyone!
PS. Just got home and found 1.1.1 of Xoom at 4% (from 85%) last night. It said Android took 54% and 19 hours of the battery.

d/l now. I'll let you know how it compares to the actual ROM the thrive came with in a bit
im a little confused though- aside from an equalizer, what does this have to offer? And what are the possibilities of a super rom? As in all of the best features of all of your Roms in one?
1st little bug, stock file explorer doesn't see the external sd card. Notification in the lower right tray shows up as "sd card inserted", but the icons at the top of the stock file explorer do not respond to the external sd card. root explorer finds it in "storage" just fine though.
Have to format, wipe and reinstall with my "browser.apk" so I don't have to keep setting ua string.
bbl with more after re-install.
Ok here we go. Video playback on YouTube is the best so far on any ROM. All audio levels are great. I injected the browser.apk from your VP ROM, and no longer have to worry about UA string.
USB drive does not work at all. No notification, can't even see it in root explorer. The notification in tray for SD card states "SD Card Inserted", but when trying to view it in the stock file explorer, when you click on the SD card Icon (upper left), you get error "SD Card is not inserted", even though notification icon shows as being inserted. I can however go into Root Explorer, and R/W the sd card under "storage".
Going to play some more, just wanted to give you the few major bugs thus far. Great job on the first port!
m-deejay,
Why do all the roms try to load handcent at the begining? do you have them all linked back to your phone?
sd card don't work as well don't read music on it in media player
m-deejay how many tablet you have ????

Lol mine says "Total Space 14.91Gb"...."Available 22.75Gb"
Apparently I have more than 10Gb Available than the total space of the drive!
I wouldn't worry about the initial bugs, as deejay will have them ironed out pretty quick. I'll have to say that this is the best initial release you've put out so far, or anyone else for that matter! +100,000
More CrAzInEsS! Went into my external SD card to copy my gps.conf file for my country over to the etc directory, opened it up as text, and it appears blank (nothing at all in the file). When I bring that same file back to my laptop and open it, I has all the information in it that should be there.
While I'm no DEV, there is clearly something wonky (technical term few of you will understand lol) about the way this ROM is reading, or failing to read the SD card.
I can't wait to see this rom grow. I could really use that cool galaxy clock and weather widget. I'm also missing the screen shot button which was really nifty. Keyboard is really laggy for me.
Nice initial release. Can't wait for more.

EDIT:Some macs/VM's dont like mounting 3.5 roms/or at very least the screen doesn't stay on when they are mounted, go to display settings and set the display timeout value to 15 mins (most file xfers don't exceed that length IMO) once the file xfer is done you can eject and unplug and your screen will turn on. This is a Mac issue nd I built the update on the Mac using a Linux VM so I know your issue, its easily avoided by just adding more or no (If you can handle it) display timer ...try mounting/unmounting your sd card if you get a ? at the music player. Its an issue that doesn't really pose as one as I've only had to unmount/mount a couple of times in the extensive amount of testing i did. Also, using parallels VM and sharing your sd card with it, Id suggest you turn the "never off/15 minutes" option on to your display time out value if you want to be able to see it...I don't make mac products or VM's and im not looking to tailor our roms to their bugs...and lastly, well i fogot the lastly part because there arent many issues in this rom, its mean clean and lean!
And yes I know I posted the same answer 3x people are still gonna ask questions....

How is the LTE speed? I've been staying away from ETERNITY due to the slow LTE speeds. I've been using the stock sense rom, XDABOLT 1.7 and happy with it because everything works including the fast LTE speed I should be getting.
I'm still downloading this just to have it.

Speed seems fine here. About 14Mb down and 8Mb up. I do notice the rom occasionally lags when opening apps. Not sure what to do about it, but other than that it's pretty smooth.

Just because this is 3.5 base does not mean it is like eternity. I got my usual 26mbps down in downtown chi with 6 megs up. Tbh I never noticed much of a blow in LTE speeds with eternity either though (though I never kept it on my phone for longer than a few hours...)
Here is one i did on the south side (closer to indiana, the downtown service is faster....)
Some first impressions:
-Much faster than latest eternity rom, looks good too
-I like how the google music icon has the blue tint now instead of the old orange
-awesome boot animation (galaxy nexus i think)
-texts send super fast, muuuch faster than eternity rom, which itself was faster than stock htc i think
Bugs/needs improvement/suggestions:
-On the lockscreen, the messages and mail apps each have a little icon in the bottom right corner that shows you how many unread messages you have. On eternity this icon was a nice little green circle. On this rom, however, they are ugly white squares, which not only looks bad but also makes it hard to see the number of messages, which is written in white font with a little bit off an embossed shadow. So if that could be changed to something like little blue or green circles, that would be nice. Anything but white boxes
-This is personal preference, but I like the default android loading symbol, the spinning line, not exactly sure how to describe it. It's a spinning grey curve, not filled in. This new rom uses a similar icon, it's a grey and white circle with a spinning chord (radius), almost like a colorless beach ball on a mac. If I had the option, i would go back to the default icon as described above (it's very similar to the windows 7 loading icon, except not blue. But it could be blue if you want)
-I love the CRT screen-on/off animations, which i'm sure you know what i'm talking about. Eternity rom has them. This rom doesn't have em. If you could enable a toggle in the display settings for this then that would be awesome! Believe it or not, this is one of the major features i expect and love in a good gingerbread rom!
-On the factory stock htc rom and the eternity rom, in the location settings, i could check 3 different boxes:
-Verizon Wireless Location Services (i think uses cellular network)
-Google Location Services (i think uses data connection)
-GPS (hardware)
In this rom, I only have one box, which is for GPS. Once i have GPS enabled, it does allow me to go into the setting above it (labeled "Location Setting") and enable some kind of network-based location services. So if you know what I'm talking about and can give the 3-box option, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated (normally i like to keep just the google location services box checked).
-On the eternity rom, when you go into "Personalize" (either from settings or from hitting the menu button when you're at your home screen, you can change the apps that are displayed on the default "4-app + ring" lockscreen, as well as their positions. In this rom, you can't do either; in fact, there's no option to adjust the lockscreen at all i think.
If I remember later, I'll update this post with my LTE speeds, right now i'm on wifi.
Let me know which of these issues you do or don't understand, and which you think you'll be able to fix. Thanks for all your hard work, congrats on being the newest member of team liquid! We're expecting great things from you, and this rom is a great start! Definitely my new personal rom
Michael
Most of your issues are feature requests, this is not eternity rom, its also not 400+mbs if you want a LOAD OF FEATURES then go for synergy, liquid is about minimalism, speed without sacrificing any integral feature sets (and we still leave our touch on it.) Feel free to mod any of the cosmetics to your needs. I have no issue reading the number of texts I have in my "white boxes" nor do they look ugly to me...and you can register with network GPS as well as stand alone GPS...it locks fine, I have yet to find any innaccuracy/shortcomings with any location based services, if you find them please let us know glad you enjoy the speed of this from if you aren't in stsh mode 3 zram enable then do it. And dude, go to personalize lock screen shortcuts, its there as usual please before you post a "bug" double check to make sure you looked through the settings, we work hard on our roms and before quickly reviewing it, please take time to get to know it, OC and zram it and reboot it ans let it settle. Enjoy!

hmm, st.sh doesn't appear to exist (even looked for it through a few of the folders from the terminal emulator). Is there somewhere I can download the script from?

Fair enough, I can appreciate a minimalism-focused rom! And hence I can definitely understand the large difference between the two roms. The things i mentioned were minor and wouldn't increase the file size by much, but if you want to keep it as lean as possible then by all means.
I would definitely mod the boxes into colored circles if i knew how, but i'm guessing you don't want to take the time to explain that to me, that's ok i understand.
I think I do understand what you're saying about the location services - you're referring to the top check box in location settings, "Use wireless networks" ? I originally had thought that only used wifi, but i see now that it uses cell signal. So thanks for pointing that out
I tried to do the zram thing to speed up the rom (i did experience a little lag, especially with the notification window sometimes not pulling down after many swipes), but i ran into the same issue as kasandoro. Then i saw your newest post and that fixed it for me (for those of you reading this, make sure that you don't capitalize the "z" in zram enable, because it won't be able to find it). So thanks for explaining that!
I apologize for missing the lockscreen adjustments screen, i forgot that it was in the 2nd tab in the personalize screen, i was just looking at the "home screen" tab and not the "display" tab. Thanks!
I'm pretty sure I gave you credit for your hard work in my first post, so no need to get huffy. I thought I had triple checked it, but I was just looking in the wrong place. But that's what forums are for, helping each other out!
Thanks again!

That did the trick! Unfortunately, it seems my phone can't handle 1.9. 1.5 seems to be its limit, so I had to back off. The zram tweak seems to have helped though.

Apologies if I came off as huffy this is my first major release and I killed myself working on it a few times so today I might be a bit agitated there will be a flash able update.zip for this rom we decided that from the beginning. The contents/nature of the zip, well that will remain top secret until its released stay posted...

Yup, running IX, and the phone freezes quite a bit and requires a battery pull (softkeys stop responding).
Just installed the ROM. Very smooth so far. Couple possible issues I noticed right away:
- Music players don't find my music files which are located in /mnt/sdcard/music
- Facebook for sense appears to be missing. Unable to sync contact pictures

No worries, and awesome, looking forward to it!
Note: After enabling zram i got 2 freezes, both times the device rebooted itself after a minute or two. I then went back into terminal emu disabled it. Had one more reboot since, but seems to be stable and awesome now.
EDIT: Froze again about a minute after posting. This time it actually froze in the middle of a keyboard press, with vibrate on keypress enabled, so it was sitting there frozen and vibrating for about a minute or two till it finally rebooted itself lol. Any insight as to why we might be experiencing reboots at this point?
EDIT 2: Another freeze+reboot...

Exclusive apps...
1. Xperience Light Sensor (automatically adjusts screen brightness based on current lighting conditions)...

These are our Team Developed apps & just a few of the many features within our rom...
ExDialer & Contacts now has ICS theme Integrated... Just open Exdialer app/choose options/select ICS theme... then long press on Dock, choose ExDialer icon & use as default dialer... If there appears no room on dock, swipe dock left, Voila !!!
We hope that you will find our rom as much fun to use as we do... hehe ^_^

Difference between this and the full one ? isnt it that light sensor isnt working?
This Looks Promising ..
Looks Awesome but looks can bediceving I am definitly trying this one!
EDIT:
This rom rocks! But uses to much ram:9
GOOD WORK
Hi bro...
Xperience light sensor has had a few bugs, It has now been re-worked & I've been testing for a few days now & all is good...
The difference between this rom & the full fat version is the full fat version has all apps unlocked to "Full" status... XDA Rules prevent us from doing this with our "Lite" release... Also, Full Fat version has all apps & Candy including little used system apps... "Lite" version keeps all candy but gets rid of useless, little used apps to maintain speed & stability...
Hope this helps to explain the differences between the two versions...

Yes, A2SD will be working. It works fine for me using 3DX a2sd version, but my phone is not your phone, hehe We think the problem was linked to a script & that has now been edited, so all will be well...

so many apps. so it is good have u tried concept rom yet if not try this
finally wait is over. will definately flash this one ;-)
that music app is available in the market right? correct me if i'm wrong. cause I'm pretty sure I downloaded that kind of music player from the market a plenty of months ago. its where you can just use the proximity "wave your hand in front of your phone" to activate the next feature of the music player. or even just tap your phone a bit hard or even shake to again activate the next feature.
i'm not here to make war. i'm just making sure there's no warez in it.
awesome rom tho. looks promising.
any reviews for this rom? will wait cause if there are bugs i wont flash. i hate flashing then restoring then blah blah. But still love the concept though ~

thanks reaperXl2 that did help flashing it soon
and awesome work cherrs mate ;p
ive gathered some things and did a few tests on my MotoActv since ive gotten it and did some tweaks here and there and i added the following features to mine and put them into a flashable zip for u all
-init.d support (plus some scripts to make it faster then ever) (tested and working (makes two files in sdcard on boot to show it) (picks and chooses when to work now for some reason, so i put an app i made that loads scripts when onCreate()'d and sometimes on-boot)
-Viper4Android sound system (only works for bluetooth headsets if enabled, but its sounds better with good settings)(see credits)
-OpenVPN (idk if theres a use for us but i added the required files (no GUI)
-UsbEnabler.apk (see credits)
-Adblock host (hopefully it works i havent been able to test yet)
-lag-free entropy (so far seems to work, as im not lagging switching launchers anymore)
-MotoActv DPI (my own personall app i made for Changing dpi from 90,100, and stock(120)
-Sqlite3 + init.d sqlite3 optimizer
-Busybox Run-parts (for init.d, still picks and chooses when to work)
-100 Dpi When-Flashed (can be changed back to stock with the MotoActv DPI app i made)
-minor-to-major tweaks from init.d scripts and other methods
-DalvikCache2Sd (not sure if it truly tested working, but i do have a tiny bit more space+no lag like other 2SD methods
soon to be added:
I take bare minimum credit for these, i mostly used this personal zip for when i update my MotoActv's rom, this can be universal for other androids, but it was initially made to the MotoActv watch running custom roms

well thanks ClearD i can do the script just fine, some of the mountpoints are universal like what i use
umount("/system");
or
run_program("xbin/mount", "/system"); (might be wrong on the xbin part, just going by memory
run_program("xbin/umount", "/system");
but the resolution on the galery on your motoactv rom is too big for it, it resizes dont get me wrong, but it needs to do a single horizontal row cause if u overscroll to the farest right u see there is second or more rows going down, imma fine the sourcecode for the galery2.apk, and make a single-row version when i find it =)

Ah, sweet! That sounds good. I couldn't get it to mount properly any other way so far, but it could have been something as simple as a typo. If it does actually work, then I might use that in the future. That's the one I tried with the last iteration.

the universal way i do my scripts is
mount("ext3", "MTD", "system", "/system");
unmount("/system");
and it always seemed to work for me, so thats why i call it universal anyways
but the other ways i posted seemed to work for me when i tried em, i just used this way cause it was in a zip for a motoactv rom (i think it was yours or the battery mod)
Opps! i was wrong, its not
run_program("xbin/mount", "system");
its
run_program("sbin/mount", "system");
lol i had to check my other mod zips lol

Lol no doubt, I went through the same thing with the battery mod, looking over and over for one that worked better. I'd prefer the xbin/mount method, but for some reason, it was hit and miss on my end with end users. Not sure why, unless busybox wasn't set up right somehow.
Just updated the mod_pack with more features!
Sorry but the only thing i havent really been able to fix that well way the init.d it seemed to workwhen i first released this mod_pack, but it seems to pick+choose when to work, so i added 2 other methods for init.d (one of which is an app i made, yet to release that loads the scripts when the app is onCreate()'d and sometimes on-boot when SuperUser allows it)
but there are some great new features that WILL work, along with some of my own personall apps, tweaks, and clock faces =)
Again: this mod_pack is meant for MotoActv's running a custom rom, and Not meant for AOSP based MotoActv Roms
Tested and confirmed working (except init.d that picks and chooses) on @ClearD 's ClearRom 1.2.0 T2 (and my own personal (un)Official 1.2.1 T1 i made for him)
For some reason all of the mods are being denied superuser, any ideas? I am setup to automatically allow all requests
Edit: Installed SuperSU and my problem has been resolved
Has there been anything definitive about the entropy thing? The last consensus I saw by anyone not potentially making money from a fix is that at best it's just forcing the processor to stay awake, decreasing battery life.

well by my testing before my motoactv went kaput it didnt affect the battery any noticeable amount, but it did solve some-to-all of the lag from switching launchers on the ClearDroid 1.2.0_T2 rom, i cannot make or update this mod-pack anymore because i dont like submitting a mod-pack that is untested, and since my motoactv went kaput i cannot test it anymore but if u have any questions feel free to ask and ill try to answer the best i can for now =)
not sure what is the right place to ask this... How does DPI change work? Does it mean the "system" screen resolution is changed? Let say, what is the "Full Screen" resolutions in 90/100/stock(120?) dpi's??? Where to read about it if it is not so simple???

Dont worry its ok to ask here, since i made this app after all , i might as well answer how this works =)
well to make it shorter and more understandable to alot more people:
Yes, it is the overall resolution of the screen:
DPI (dots-per-inch) is more like the size range to view images/displays/graphics on ANY of your LCD/LED Screened devices including androids, I-craps(iPhones/ipods )(sorry i dont like apple too much, bad excperiences, dont get offended if u like it as its just my personal preferences), blackberries, windows phones, TV's, computer Monitors, etc:
the stock setting for HDPI phones (the more common screened ones now) is 240, say if u lower it, the images get smaller, if u raise it it gets bigger (maybe even too big for the screen to handle correctly);
but since the MOTOACTV has a smaller screen as u can obviously see (if u have one that is, as i dont know others posesions =P), its default for the stock rom is 120 (1/2 of HDPI if u notice the math) and 120 is as big as it should go cause say for example 130 dpi, it makes the images slightly too big for the screen, but slightly smaller values (100 is usually smallest for alot of peoples eyes for the watch, but for some people like me that like them a tad smaller for sharp small details, i put 90), but literally the smaller the amounts go, the smaller the images(and possible errors, i.e ES File Explorer crashes below 120 DPI untill u restore to 120+) , and for the smaller screen we have u cant go too big (121+), or too small (>=90-100), so i put those details of 90,100,and 120 (no 110 as it doesnt make too much of a difference by what i saw)
but there is (a) way(s) to check what DPI u are at currently:
METHOD1.check your build.prop file under /system/build.prop by doin these ADB commands (**new line is a new command**) (commands stop at <EOC>)
adb remount
adb pull /system/build.prop
<EOC>
check somewhere using notepad for this line (NOTE: if u want to edit to push to your device use notepad++, search for it on google if u dont already have it, as regular notepad corrupts it)
ro.sf.lcd_density=(your current DPI is displayed here)
if u decide to change it that way and want to apply it MAKE A BACKUP!!!, then change it in notepad++ and save it, then goto the directory it is in in the terminal/command prompt and do (**new line is a new command**) (commands stop at <EOC>)
adb remount
adb push build.prop /system/build.prop
adb shell chmod 644 /system/app/build.prop
adb reboot
<EOC>
METHOD 2: Any DPI Checking/changer app (there might be some good free ones, i.e. pimpmyrom has a density changer (DPI changer) that works the same as mine i think, it changes the DPI value in the Build.prop and it WILL stick over reboots, just not rom flashes (as it overwrites it and my change)
if u want to see how i did this(if u understand java/android applications) u can check This app on my github, its acually fairly easy and lightweight compared to others
https://github.com/kittleapps/MotoActvDPI
and the exact class that does this (using a library), is this
https://github.com/kittleapps/MotoA...om/KittleApps/app/motoactvdpi/MainScreen.java
as u can see it changes it to 90,100, and 120 quite simply (with root access of course)
and sorry for this long message but it explains not only your question, but possible future questions on how this app works =)

There is a 3rd method as well.
Method 3 = Install the Xposed framework and app settings apk found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44034334&postcount=2315
This will allow per app DPI settings rather than one global setting.
In order for this to work correctly, make sure you move both the Xposed Installer and App Settings apks to the phone after installation and reboot as well.
I like running some apps at 120, others at 100, 90, and even 70 w/ modded font sizes and this allows for all those combinations.

that is true, but i didnt include that cause i was seeing people having issues with xposed-framework on the MOTOACTV on a few threads, and tbh i made this app+inlcuded in modpack before that method was usable for MOTOACTV (or gingerbread in general), thats kinda why i havent updated the modpack in a while (including the fact mine is damaged for some time now), i managed to fix mine up somewhat but it only turns on the backlight and no button combos work but to turn on backlight XD, so no fastboot recovery, boot-to-system, or quickboot :S and since the device is discontinued i cant get a real fix XD, so unless i personally test the things i put in this modpack, i cant make new versions to distribute for device stability reasons (e.g. in case it is corrupted and breaks someone elses device, as it is un-tested, since i dont have a device to test it on)

Sorry to hear that. I personally haven't loaded the mod pack yet. Was looking into cherry picking parts of it when I saw the question on DPI. I thought it was a general question.
In any case, I personally have not had any issues with Xposed on my actv. What issues have you heard about?
jkok - thank you so much for the explanations. It's become more clear for me but I'm not so experienced in android/development so I have some more questions related to dpi on actv.
My practical interest in this is - to investigate the possibility to run igo primo on this device (for route planning/voice navigation) because I'm not happy with Motorola map application (walk/run outdoor mode). I have some ideas how to modify igo's data.zip for specific screen resolutions (at least I managed to make "custom 640x480" data.zip for primo 2.4.0 WM for htc DIAM100) but I need to know what is the "Full Screen" resoluton (for igo and other applications) in different dpi modes on actv (ClearD 1.2.0 rom currently, just in case). Is it the same - 176x220 for all dpi's (I don't think so as the size of icons/fonts/etc are different). So, the real question is - what is the screen resolution I need to set up in data.zip to try to run igo primo on motoactv. To know that I need to understand if dpi change affects the "full screen resolution" in motoactv/android. And, once more, sorry if the question looks stupid (already explained etc) as I'm not developer...

well im not familiar with those apps, as for the resolutions/dpi im not sure of that :S it could possible be found on google, as basic hdpi (240 dpi), usually is around 480*800, and 120 dpi is like the motoactv 220*176, so i guess there isnt a ratio it follows, just sizing of images maybee :S, but i also just became a developer more resently withing the last 2 years so im still learning
DISCLAIMER: This is a share of my experience for better usage. It might not work the best for you. You do this at your own risk. !
Hi there!
If use use this lovely G3 with CM7 a9 as your daily driver, you would have wanted to have it fast and smooth. (Basically the ROM is buttery smooth, but due to different wrong settings/apps that we use make it little slow)
So here are some DOs and DON'Ts, from my experience:
DO NOT use apps2sd or a2sd scripts. Please don't use them. There is a little work around for it in the lines below. Keep reading.
DO NOT use 'task killers'/auto task killers. If you really want one task manager, then there is a port of stock samsung task manager. It does well, doesn't run in background. It is attached at the end of this post.
Say NO to heavy launchers. I would recommend ADW/ADW EX. Works best, buttery smooth, with an ocean of features.
Say YES to cpu governors and profiles. Helps you get the best battery as well as performance.
Try to stick to CM stock Music app, QuickPic instead of Gallery, it helps a lot.
Work around for installing apps (without using a2sd scripts):
[CM7 a9 has quite a lot of space in system directory, if you DE-ODEX it. So let's make use of that. I deleted the following from /system/app folder, after deoxeding. It doesn't affect me. Please do this with care. (If you use odexed ROM, you can try deleting both .apk and .odex files. I hope it doesn't cause any problem )
Androidian.apk, Cyanbread.apk - these are the inbuilt themes. I use ice10 theme. So, i placed ice10 apk instead of these two. If you use some other, you can place it instead of these two.
CMStats.apk,CMUpdateNotify.apk,CMWallpapers.apk - I don't use any of these. So, it doesn't affect me.
Email.apk - I use only gmail. If you are using pop mail, you might need this, and there are alternatives too.
FileManager.apk - I use RootExplorer. I I removed it.
Gallery3D.apk - This is the first one I deleted. I replaced it with QuickPic.
LiveWallpapers.apk, LiveWallpapersPicker.apk, MagicSmokeWallpapers.apk - I've never used them and will never use them.
PicoTts.apk - it is for text to speech. I don't use it.
Protips.apk, QuickSearchBox.apk, RomManager.apk - I don't use them at all.
Now, you would've got good space in our system folder. Now, goto /data/app folder. Move Play Store, Play Services apks and other apps that you use to /system/app/ folder. You can do do this until system folder goes full.
NOTE: Whenever you copy an apk from /data/app/ , many times there might be an old version sitting inside system/app/ , for example,Google Play store. So, make sure, you delete the old version before copying from /data/app.
Once in a week/couple of weeks DO clear you cache and dalvik cache. It frees up space and also builds new cache, so your phone gets a little faster.
Make use of CyanogenMod settings: I Use 'long press back button kills foreground app'. It is really helpful.
I could have missed something, I'll add if I remember.
Don't forget to share your settings/ work-arounds for using out G3 better!
