ok so its been one day since i got my SGS and most of the
times when i am playing around with my phone it starts to overheat.
The temperature of battery rises to about 44 Celsius. then when i play
games it overheats and the whole phone freezes and i have to take out battery
and reboot to make phone work again. I am on gingerbread stock.
Does anyone else have this problem?
It's a official version of GB or a Leaked?

Bring it back and ask for a replacement. It eh replacement does the same, then think about alternative/custom ROMs, etc.
If it is a brand new phone and it's overheating that much, I would assume it is faulty to begin with, and work from there.

Hello everyone...
I have 2 issues with my Transformer
the first one is that whenever i leave my Transformer for couple hours it shuts down !! doesn't occur when charging but it does when it's not.. even when the battery is around 80% !! i had this problem with ALL kernels except the stock kernel which i don't wanna use !! also had this problem for around 2 months...
the second one happened today when i left my Transformer "Charged" at 100%.. and after couple of hours i found it shut down but when i powered it on again i found the battery 27% !!
i went to the battery stats and found that battery was decreasing slowly and there was a gap (which means that it turned off) and after the gap it shows the battery low !! it happened within 6 hours !!
Please help me if you can... !! I'm using Revolver ROM 3.9.5 and "Blades Kernel 3" that comes in the Revolver Parts...
UPDATE : The problem occurs with the stock kernel !!
This sounds very familiar to the problem I had with my Galaxy S2 a month ago.
It kept shutting down every few hours, and it was driving me mad. Then one day I uninstalled the app greenpower, and it was fine afterwards. You don't have the greenpower app by any chance? If not, maybe it can be caused by some other app you normally use?
The battery might be hosed. Have you ever let it hit 0 before? A lot of batteries never fully recover after being fully depleted once or twice.

I never heard of this app... Just like i said it doesn't happen with the stock kernel !!
But the reason I'm using other kernels is because i wanna Overclock !!

No i never let it hit 0%... but i don't think that the problem is in the battery
However I'll try it and see what happens !
sounds like a silly question but i have seen it alot. Are you charging through a computer(USB) or wall?
It could be related to setCPU and the according profiles. Just recently I saw that my profiles were messed up after updating ROM and kernel. Might be worth a shot.
Reinstall stock kernel Issue #1 fixed.
Issue 2 sounds like charger shut off and left TF on not charging.
You've pretty much explained to yourself why the thing is shutting down.. It works fine on the stock kernel but not one that is letting you overclock.. Sounds to me like you are either overclocking more than it can handle or undervolting to much or both.
I can almost bet that its not shutting down completely and its just going into a state that the screen is off but the OS is hung up, so its not responding to you turning the screen on.. This would explain why the battery seems to be dieing when its sitting idle.
Not sure about it dieing while its plugged in other than maybe a fluke.
I don't wanna use the stock kernel.. it's really slow !!
and i over clock to 1.4 ghz only since i can't overclock more than that because it restarts itself endlessly if i overclocked more than 1.4 ghz !! i undervolted about -25 or -50.. not much !!
Yes i charge it on a wall or anything but NOT on my computer...
How can i change profiles in setcpu ??

No no you misunderstood! DONT let the battery hit 0.
First, you need to use more exclamation points !!!!
sounds like you are suffering from deep sleep issues. What rom are you running? also, have you tried running a custom kernel and not overclock it? You have several variables that can be influencing your issues, start isolating what may be causing your problems. the kernel seems the must likely of culprits, I would clear the overclock and install setcpu and run it for a but and see if you can replicate your issue.

Just try the non stock kernel, oc it but dont uv it, not all devices can handle uv, even if it is only a little bit. Even take it back too 1000mhz and try to increase the uv and oc by little bits at a time to see exactly what your transformer can handle. I think its the uv thats causing the problems. Experiment a bit and youll find the sweet spot.
I'm using Revolver ROM and i mentioned that...
I've never undervolted till yestersay.. maybe it caused the second problem
I set the clock speed at 1ghz and i'm waiting to see if anything changes..
Yeah... the problem still occurs even after setting the clock speed at 1ghz and default voltage !! using clemsyn kernel ver 22...
Every device is different. Differences in manufacturing etc. You might have a picky device. Plus these are mobile platforms. No fans, just convection cooling. They are not meant to be tweaked and oc'ed they way we do. The stock kernel is very fast. What is it that you cannot do on the stock kernel that the extreme oc let's you do?

I'm guessing my device is bad and it's Asus' problem ! i tried setting the clock speed at normal 1Ghz but the problem still occurs !! the reason i overclock is that because with the stock kernel i get slower web browsing and slower flash playback and slower overall performance!! however I'm back on the stock kernel to check out if the problem is gone or not...
I doubted my device couple months ago... because I've seen everyone overclock their devices at 1.6 GHz Without any issues !! but when i try to overclock a little bit more than 1.4 GHz it restarts itself endlessly !!
Had the same issue a few months ago. Be prepared to wake up to a dead TF.
I sent it back to ASUS and they replaced main board and battery. Under warranty of course. I suggest you unroot and use a stock rom for now.

You stated in an earlier post that the problem does not show up in the stock ASUS setup, but only with a custom ROM and Kernel. How does that make it ASUS' problem. If you buy a car that says it runs on 87 octane fuel and you put 100% nitro methane in the tank and it blows up it is not the manufacturers fault.
Dear all,
I got my N4 since 2 weeks and it worked very well for many days: I used stock 4.2.1, unlocked bootloader and rooted, then updated to 4.2.2. Few days ago I noted a very strange behavior: the battery discharge very fast even without any use. I spent many days debugging the behaviour of the phone also using Better Battery Stats. The result: during standby about 95% of the time in deep-sleep but the battery went down to the rate of about 20%/hour. Then I decided to make a factory reset of everything: I've tried with 4.2.2 but also with 4.2.1.
Nothing: restored every part of the rom (using the official occam image) except to lock again the bootloader, factory reset from the stock recovery and booted. No SIM inside and airplain mode: discharge in 4-5 hours without even touch it...
It looks too strange for me (I used other Android phones in the past): I'm starting to think that something got broken in my Nexus 4. Maybe the battery or something in the hardware that discharge the battery.
What do you think about my case? Any attempt before I contact LG for the RMA procedure?
Many thanks.
I would flash a custom rom and a custom kernel, Project Butter uses a lot of power to have everything as fast as possible. You can have the same/better speed with a custom rom without sacrificing much battery + customization.

I doesn't look a question of "non optimized use": they behaviour is very strange. A full battery (100%) goes to ZERO in about 5 hours without touching the phone, with stock image/recovery/radio/bootloader, without SIM, in airplain mode and after a fresh factory reset.
HELP: I bought it in Germany (Media Markt) and I live in Italy. I'm starting to cry just thinking how to proceed to the RMA...

I have a solution
Buy a good cover for the phone, and just slap the sim directly to the phone without using the tray. This works for me.

anyway you might want to try opening the back and disconnecting the battery, give the connector a blow or whatever and giving it another try... from previous posts i have read it seems you can do this without disturbing any warranty stickers.

Guys, i have an octa core S4, and i've read everything i could find in the forum about it, and i even have tried many stock roms and i can't decide, so i want some experiences.
I'm trying to find a stock rom that has good battery and doesn't heat up too much. I've tried:
MEA India - Best Result so far. Good battery, heats up quite a lot.
MF8 India - Eats up too much battery
MG1 India - Same as MF8
MG5 India - Eats up too much battery but stays quite cool.
By the way, the temperature measured in the CPU using the *#0*# code were (using MEA firmware):
20º-25º idle
25-37º while browsing through wifi
35-55º while heavy gaming
Now i don't know if these temps are normal, for what i've read in this forum, the browsing temp seems to be a bit high. On the other hand, the temp rose up to 55ºC only playing for 5 mins a very heavy 3d game. Is it normal for it to get heated so fast?
So far, i'm sticking to the INU MEA rom, but i'd like to know if someone has a better experience with a newer rom, but i want only STOCK ROMS, not custom ones. By the way, i've checked for weird process running in the background in every rom i tried and there was nothing suspicious.
Thanks in advance everyone.

Yes of course because it depends on the use, but even when the phone doesn't reac exactly the same, the hardware is basically the same for every i9500, so the behaviour of everyone's phone should be similar, unless of course there's a defective handset
Best stock ROM is the Symbian S40... trust me.. you wont find anything more stable than that... :sigh:
Thread closed!
You can see how battery suddenly stoped at around 90% and then jumped few hours later on 80%, and also suddenly on around 30% my phone turned off saying it had 0% when i turned it back on...-_-

When you flash a new rom, or kernel, it's recommended to drain battery to 0% till phone wont start, then plug it in and wait 2h then unplug and start

EU version is a mess. Lags not ending, phone heats up quickly WITHOUT benchmarking/camera/gaming. Just Facebook/whatsapp/Browsing.

I'm wondering if there's hardware problems. The 1st phone I got on Friday had lags and heated a lot. On Sunday the screen started flickering badly and I took it back to the CPW and got a replacement. My new one has been fine and generally lag free and doesn't heat up badly.

Anyone here can tell me what issue am i having. Currently using a LG G3 f400s, updated to f400s10g. Well in my country the telco i am using is giving me some problem on my LG G3. The telco support lte but when i use on my G3 the data signal seems to be fluctuating, meaning to say suddenly while FB the line cut off, gaming it takes a few time to login (online game), app store takes a few click only can download apps. The same telco sim card using on my M8 doesn't give this problem, only on my G3. Would be helpful if anyone can advice on this issue. Thanks:cyclops:

Hey guys!
I can install an Brazilian version on my LG G3?

Great update
As of the update I have been getting WAY better performance (also running on ART) better battery, and not only that.......It has no effect on ROOT as i rooted with Super SU by just installing binaries and moved it to system apps and it is still there with no problem. I tried Towelroot on 10A didnt work but if Super SU worked im guessing Towel root will too.
Take care.
