Does flashing the radio hard reset my device?

Pretty much as it says in title...I'd like to play around with different versions of the radio to see which one works best for me, but would rather not have it reflash my rom every time I test.
Anyone know if the ROM is flashed/reset too?
Thanks
yes, or at least the one's i tried do!
i seem to like 1.50 version, but it seems to depend on your carrier and carrier's network, or if you use 3g, etc..
There are several threads that discuss the advantages of the various radio versions.
Good luck

Flashing the Radio alone does not mean you will lose data or hard reset the device. I would do a backup anyway just in case though!

Trust me, I was right! If you only have the Radio ROM in the upgrade it will not affect the rest of the ROM and will not hard reset. If you have the Radio and CE ROM, that will obviously wipe the device!

I have ported it, everything works but dont know why it hot reboots every now on then and bootloop during reboots.
will post on xda once this bug is gone. till then I wont mind if somebody else port it.
bdw as I said earlier, it looks ugly. these roms are just for testing purpose and not like miui/cm7 or cm9

Yeah so ive been on the look out for the last 6 or so months for anything mentioning an update for the above, i found this https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/help/update-to-nougat-vns-l31c432b131-t3640718 but it has not really helped me, as well, maybe i am missing something, so does anyone have any ideas?
