[Q] Incoming call problem with CM7.0.3 stable release - G2 and Desire Z General

IM HAVING A HUGE PROBLEM
Ok well first my phone is currently off, I own a Tmobile G2 aka HTC Vision
When my phone is off i can still recieve calls but i cant make any outgoing calls (Tmobiles magic)
so when my phone is off i use google voice to text and keep up with friends but lately after installing this ROM 7.0.3 the majority of all my incoming calls I never recieve or im not notified about
Google voice alerts me that ive missed a call, But when people call my phone it does not ring at all or even notifies me that ive missed a call ((( someone please let me know what is going you would be a life saver!!

Is there a reason you flashed CM 7.0.3 and not 7.1 (the latest stable)?
I'd at least try 7.1 first before trying to hunt down the cause of the issue.

I had the same problem with 7.0.1 too that was the reason behind the downgrade

Still wondering why you haven't tried 7.1.0??
7.0.3 is newer than 7.0.1 btw

Weird problem.
Technically saying, when u shut the phone off, most component of the cell stop working, not possible to receive a call, but in yr case i believe there's something wrong during the shutdown process, try logcat while u turn off the phone.
A possible is that, something hangs the kernel during the shutdown process (this happens sometimes even on a desktop), while the radio component still working and communicating with the base, so yr phone "receives" calls, but the system is freezed, it can't switch to the ringing process.

Do a wipe. Flash latest nightly.263

No Audiable Notifications and/or Vibrate from time to time

Hi Guys I have the T-mobile G2 running stock software-hasn't been rooted or anything. I've noticed that the phone will stop audiable notifiations and vibrate on then for unknown reason. It does that eventually every time after reboot, the only way to fix it is to reboot the phone or if I receive incoming call it will resume the notifying and the vibration on the notifications again. It is rather weird and If you guys know what might be causing it or how to fix it please let me know. I know there are more people out there having the same issue. I wonder why is noone complaining about it?
Thank you.

I do not have such an option on my phone-I have the T-mobile G2 not the Desire Z-maybe there is a difference there in the options menu...I don't run the HTC sense version....
Root your phone, flash some DZ ROM and then do what i said before
Now seriously. Sorry, that was my bad..
Does anyone think this is an issue worth looking into? If anyone has the same issue please advise if you have found a way to fix it. It does look like software issue to me just don't know what is causing it....
Come on guys, does anyone have the same issue? Any way to fix that without rooting and using a custom ROM?
Help is appreciated...

This used to happen to me all the time... on a few different stock android devices.
Notifications would just stop working. NO sound. I would go into Handcent and do a "Test Notification" and there would be no sound.
Always happened after having the phone on for several hours. I just got in the habit of rebooting daily. Currently I'm on Cyanogen Mod and haven't noticed an issue recently.
But like I said it has happened to me on 4 android devices all running various versions of Android.. so I'm guessing it's an app combo that I have.
I'm on CM6 and this happens to me randomly too
Yep, mine doesn't vibrate on sms notifications. Vibrates for incoming calls ok though. I only noticed it a few days ago. Hmmmm,.... Using CM6.1
I see, I am also guessing it's software related just don't know what is causing it...
The strange part is that when I reboot the phone shortly after it will stop notifying me or vibrating on notifications and after I receive a call it will start working normally again-until the next reboot-it is weird...

Hi there Everyone, I do feel that this is somewhat of an issue,
I have HTC G2 t-mobile running Cyangenmode 7-10 Rc
My issue of no sound notifications started after I updated the Rom
I was running 2.2.1 now it is 2.3.4.
I keep getting DSP manager error, and this will pop up when I make a phone call or if I have an in coming call. (and I hear some static noise) that part is not as annoying as the fact
Some times during the week (when I am at work and need the phone to be quiet) I will get actually get sound, and then on the weekend I don't
Not sure what is going on. with this I have been looking on line to find a solution I have tried a few but still no luck, Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Blessings from Moondaughter6

How often is it rebooting?
Does it boot at all?
Can you reach desktop?
If not, have you flashed previously your rom?
Please supply more details.

Some times once in a day, and sometimes more than a week, basically it is rebooting when I am playing games for more than 10 minutes.
As a phone it is working fine. I am still not rooted.
Build version : FROYO.DDJP6
Firmware Version : 2.2
FYI - One more thing, I bought this mobile just 20 days back. Anyway thank you for quick reply.
Twenty days i would return under warranty for a fix ..
jje
Exchange it, if you have not done any changes to rom, as this firmware has no such bug, probably its a hardware issue.
Is your cell get heat up while playing?

yes, sometimes it heats gets heat while playing.. I am going to shop now, to replace it.
This seems to be some sort of ROM bug. Just reflash to Gingerbread, and be fine.
You can use my howto for that, for example:

I found the issue with Advanced Task Killer. I am using Android Booster. Now it is working fine.
This has happened to me twice in 4 weeks on jvk. Talking on phone then it quickly boots up. Faster than a normal off then power on though.
Also.
Maybe why the screen goes to sleep during a call...
If you set screen off to say 10 mins, when on a call the screen stays active for duration of call except when held to ear, then screen off sensor kicks in and its working normal. Seems screen off setting also switches off phone screen at set time instead of staying active.

flash zach's antlion kernel or tk4-glitch kernel. the 'twoface' kernel might be the problem
Mine also rebooted, but it was on 2.1. The problem was that there was a bug in samsung's code. When I tdisabled the power saving mode under Settings > Display. The phone stopped rebooting.
I have 2.2.1 now and power saving mode is enabled without any problems.

Mic not working

When I try to talk to someone over a phone call my voice is very low on the other side what could it be?
Sent via my mobile device
Anyone?
I really need to sort this.. how do I replace the mic and where can I get a replacement one from?
I'm having the same issue and just bought phone new 2 weeks ago and rooted with cm7 nightly 189. Is it the Rom.

I'm not sure...
I really need to sort this I love my dhd too much
I found out why my mic wasn't working correctly. I installed CM7 Nightly build 190. Reverted back to stock until I decide on another Rom. Now I'm being told I sound 60% better when on a phone conversation.

have you tried to use voice recorder and check the sound quality, if the problem still there then your hardware has issues, if not it might be the network issue, so change the radio.

I wish I could help you. I am having the same issue. When attempting to make a call, it sometimes takes 30seconds to connect, and when/if it connects, roughly 45ish seconds into the call, it will drop. then trying to reconnect is difficult. Uhg, I love this phone, but I do occasionally need to make a call.

What "Baseband version" version do you have? This is a known issue when using 4.2.2 with any radio image older than .48
The culprit in this matter is not a rom issue but rather the baseband that you are on. For most people who retained to the older .33 baseband or lower have been experiencing the same issues you have encountered. If you upgrade your baseband to .48, the ability to hear calls will return by doing so. Unless you want to return to the 4.2.1 rom and use the .33 baseband.

CyanogenMod 12 official nightlies arrive for kltespr.

If I were you, I'd wait until tomorrow or later and download the next nightly. The first CyanogenMod 12 nightly's texting and phone are broken.

Is anybody else having trouble with the cyanogenmod 12 nightlies for kltespr? They released the 2nd nightly a few hours ago and the calling and texting is still broken for me, but the network still works. Hmm... If I download albinoman's Alpha release, everything works just fine, but official nightlies are broken for me. Strange.

Downloading now, I'll post my results after flash.
Texting and calling is working, but looks like Bluetooth is broken. It works after a reboot, but is very choppy.
Definitely not working. 2 fresh installs. Phone will ring with a different tone than normal but there is no option to answer it. When the other end hangs up, the phone keeps ringing until you reboot it.
Appears inbound texting works but the send button in the stock mms app can not be pressed. Did not bother with testing 3rd party apps.
Have not seen any commits in the changelog which may fix this, so yeah I'd definitely hold off for another day or two before heading to nightlies.

This is the exact problem that I have. I can type text, but I can't press the send button. The phone acts weird and won't actually hang up when I press the hangup button. So some people have the issue and others don't. At least it's not just me.

Here is a new issue. I tried to connect to my Bluetooth car stereo and it errored out, but my phone started making a ringing noise. No matter what I did, or which service I stopped, it kept ringing. Reboot did not fix the issue, but a power down and power back up worked. Also, regarding the SMS issue. Same issue with the stock app, but I use Textra and it works perfectly.
I've heard that updating the recovery might fix some rom issues, so I updated to the newest TWRP. And the same problem persists. So it's not the recovery, unfortunately. I'm back to using KT TWRP 2.8.0

I had the same problem with messaging. I had to download Google messenger to send texts. Calling was not working for me. I could see when my brother was calling via LTE would turn off, after he hung up it switched back to LTE. I also noticed that it wasn't recognizing the sim card in the phone. Would this cause the problem possibly? I'll post pictures.
Picture one shows that sim card isn't being recognized.
Picture two shows the LTE is switched to off when he calls.
Picture three shows that I do have LTE. (even tho it is crap signal atm I took screen shot)
Forgot to add flashed using TWRP 2.8.3 (whatever latest version is)
That's very interesting. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix this. I'll just wait until the next nightly.

I'm currently using the third build of CyanogenMod 12 official nighties for kltespr and the calling/messaging problem persists. It also appears that I have lost root for some reason. That isn't a big deal, but the calling and texting issues are kinda weird. Do they just not know about it I wonder?

Don't know about the phone and messaging but for root you might have to enable it in developer options. I had to do that then it was fine but I'm on a different build.
After a few mins, my external SD card disappears.
I've tried the official CM12 kltespr builds from 9, 10 & 11th.
Not even a root file explorer can see it. Have to reboot to fix,
Anyone else get this?
Hello , I have these problems I can not take pictures with flash activad ,
upgrade in today's problems with incoming calls qualms , I have no problems with messages . but the time is changed
I am on the latest build and using Textra and Hangouts Dialer, SMS/MMS and phone calls work perfectly. GPS works well, but I have not yet attempted Bluetooth. Calls with the stock dialer work, but the phone call does not hang up.
Just verified Bluetooth is still broken.

I've actually never heard of this. This is new. The only things I can guess about it are it being bad install, of the cache/dalvik cache wasn't cleared. I might try wiping everything (even system; it's in advanced wipe in TWRP) and reflashing it.

I had that too. I took off the option "automatically find time" or whatever it's called. I just found the timezone manually and it was fine.
